but yes the show was never meant to be flowers and a chocolate hero , the show begin with paro's dream of rudra burning her
so i guess that is the premise of the show , a not correct hero

yes, and for argument's sake, in the real context women often get forcefully burnt by their inhuman, abusive husbands and in laws or when they try to commit suicide to escape that tremendous psychological torture, they are not soothed by their caring better halves with cold waters,or herbal pastes.

Was just going to say. Props to Ashish for being so successfully lecherous. As a traditional male lead, that contrast between desirable-in-a-broken-way, and repulsive-in-a-pervy-way-- that shizz is not easy.
And to still hold audience interest and sympathy! (although the hair flying in the wind does help)

Now the multiple breakdowns of Rudra is making sense, why the creatives were emphasizing it so much. There has to be a way for Paro to fall in love and have audience accept it too and have sympathy for the leads. Of course, Ashish just fits the role of Rudra to a T.

interesting you bought up the tie her to the pole and break her bones...

if she were male that would exactly be the torture she would have got ..

whichever way i think its torture and in many ways this is the worse of the two...driving her to the point of wanting to kill herself and yet no being able to do so for fear of what will happen after ...

(most prisoners have the option of ending it before they speak)

i have been dragging army records to explain his behavior sometime back - telling that at that point she is not being abused for being a woman and was actually being spared a bit of torture as she was a woman.

mind u i said 'at that time' .. things have drastically changed in the past 2 weeks.

right now he is using the fact that 'she is a woman' against her!

sigh.. pushing someone to the point of committing suicide is the pits.. but i stand corrected - this show takes it a step further.. where committing suicide is actually a luxury she cannot afford! she is forced to think beyond the point of ending her own pain.. cz if she takes the luxurious way out through suicide the very people she protects will suffer 'cz she took the luxurious way out'

anyway i just used that example cz if someone could justify today cz apparently they seem to not comprehend the extreme emotional/sexual torture inflicted upon her.. they might at least understand the layman physical and obvious torture at least n stop justifying it!

and diya why dont u see the plight of the man who has his position, his job -- the identity which is the lifesaving oxygen to him,at a stake while he knows ( and we know very well too) that the allegations are false, whatever he had done was need of the hour, that all his brave soldiers did die an honourable death of a martyr and she is shielding that very mandrake with all her might.and he is yet to know that she was unconscious all the time. so if you wish to feel sorry instead of wallowing in the sensuality dished out and obviously gobbled clean by shallow audiences, why not feel sorry for both of then , for the situation that are forcing them to torture themselves and each other.

Rudra has inflicted a LARGE part of the plight he is in on himself. He went against the Thakur without any backup worth a damn. He used fake paperwork, so now his integrity is (rightly) under question. He did not NEED to murder the entire Baraat -- the whole impaling a man on the Indian Flag scene was his madness, hardly a way to gather evidence. He did not go about getting incontrovertible evidence. His superior officer warned him not to create any explosive situations. Rudra then killed 37 people

He knows he got it wrong. And you know who admits all this? Rudra himself---look at how he is approaching the MahaShivRatri Mela right now--including everyone, planning, scouting, having proper defense in place, informing his superiors.

The person who is paying for his initial completely headstrong one-man-army arrogance? Paro. So my sympathy as he tries to force a woman into sign a paper she truly believes is a lie is with the woman being coerced. Not the man who is literally terrorizing his witness, keeping her under total lockdown, sexually harassing her---all to in sign a confessional statement that brands herself and her respected elder Thakur as terrorists.

On the contrary, many women STAY in abusive relationships because the abusive husband/in-laws come back again and again with salves and apologies and excuses and claims that they'll do better. And they turn it around and make it look like the woman provoked the outburst and it is therefore ultimately her fault.

I would say Rudra is better than them-- he makes no bones about continuing with the harassment. In fact, the mehendi itself, while soothing, felt like violation and intimidation and power play. Which it was undoubtedly meant to be. I can see where desperation has driven Rudra. But I cannot say I like it.

That was really sad to watch Paro is being forced against her will and Rudra is tying to break her by getting all Intimate and close to her...today he brought up suhagraat!! the expression on her face was enough to show the pain Paro is in :( my heart goes out to her that moment.

Just a note that anyone who objects here is not justifying or glorifying any character!
Just like the post talks about Paro s pain it is an attempt to put across that it js a show and we know the other characters viewpoint as well.
Whatever may be the view it's unfair to harp that people are glorifying torture or justifying it because they put forth a different view.

I'm sure. 😊 I'm certain nobody here would justify abuse. And it's always interesting to hear everyone's point of view-- irrespective of how much you agree with everything. That's hardly possible, or even desirable, I'd say!
