And yes that is precisely her role. Let me spell it out loud n clear...Laila is a vamp in this story.
In the past two days a lot has been said about her heart, her heartbreak, her pain, her rights...but lets just call a spade a spade..she is a mistress, an object of physical satisfaction, a convenience for Rudra, nothing more, nothing less. And the most important part...she loved it !!She is spewing venom, ready to kill an innocent girl, acting obsessive...and yet we discuss the injustice meted out to her??
It might hurt the woman in us, the human in us to look at such a relationship but such relationships exist, where both the people involved are in a sort of mutual agreement. An agreement to just have a physical relationship, no rights, no feelings..just mutual carnal satisfaction. To put it nicely...a no strings attached relationship, and its quite common nowadays. The problem...Laila is breaching this unwritten contract, she is going back on her word, breaking a promise. And we are sympathizing with her??As I see it, Rudra is not going back on his stand, he remains firmly where he was on day one...its Laila who wants to change the rules in the middle of the game. Are we justifying one sided love?? Are we glorifying obsession on one end?? I have to hand it...I admire and respect Rudra for his honesty and his integrity. Normally men don't show this kind of respect to a woman...they just make false promises, string her along, build high hopes...that's just men. Here the man was brutally honest, kept to his promise. He did not exploit the situation to his advantage. No lies from his side, no falsehood...it all enters from the other end. In a way he showed respect by being totally upfront about his intentions. And here Laila still walks away with our sympathy?? Tell me one thing, do we all have to sympathize with the woman, always, unconditionally?? Is it a written rule that women are all right and men all wrong?? Why cant we be fair??
Laila, in all her conscience, in all her senses, agreed for such a physical bond with Rudra. No force from his side, no threats, no coercion. She consented for it, was happy in it, stressing the fact that she never wanted to be a wife or play house, domestic bliss not her cup of tea. And Rudra repeatedly reminded her, talked about her boundaries and not overstepping her limits, reminding her of her place. The lack of love, trust, respect, faith or any kind of feelings for each other clearly highlighted and underlined for our benefit. And still we have a gala time discussing a relationship...where none exists.
He slept with her...regularly...and she was happy with that. She did the same...with pleasure. Both getting what they wanted, Period. They both desired a certain kind of relationship and enjoyed it for eight long years. This was mutual. If Rudra got satisfaction out of it, Laila got the same satiation. (Even more so if we look at how obsessed she is with the man...something tells me Major Sa must be good 😆)It was not...again not...exploitation, molestation or any such horrendous situation. So why waste precious time and sentiments discussing finer sensibilities like pain, betrayal, disappointment, love, attachment, loyalty...there never was any space for it before and never will be in this relationship. If a man has to fall in love, he won't take eight long years to do so. He didn't fall in eight long years...he is not going to do so now (here its not about time, its just about a vacuum) Laila knows that or should have known that...and we know it too. If she waited, it was her choice. She didn't let any other guy touch her, again her decision. Rudra never asked, never committed neither asked for one. It's like you know the bus is not coming, the route has been cancelled and yet you insist on waiting at the bus stop...fool anyone?? Stubborn?? And she might wait patiently for another 20 more years, its still not gonna come.
Are we forcing love on a guy, are we enforcing emotions where none exist ? If someone has been wronged here, it is Rudra cause he is the one getting the raw deal. He did not sign up for this, this was not what was decided between them. Their equation was something different and now Laila is trying to turn it into something else. If anything, this is unfair to Rudra.
Laila is here to add spice to the story, and add one more evil angle (as if we don't have enough..seriously cvs?? Can we please have some positivity in this show now??!!). Why waste so much of our emotions on wrong and right when the woman in question is meant to be wrong?
(And please lets keep the morality issue out of this..this is not about a woman sleeping with a man under such circs is right or wrong...or why such women are considered bad...or about clean or dirty women have rights or not... where the heck did that come from??😕)
I know I am flogging a dead horse and also I might open Pandora's box, but still if anyone deserves our sympathy, deserves a break...Its Rudra and not Laila. Bol Diya!! (ab maaro sab😆)!!
