How about,,,,he saved her life and honour even before her marriage...he saved her from that lowlife husband...and he has been decent to her given the circumstances. He didn't have any personal enmity towards her..he thought she was involved in the smuggling...and now he isn't even saying that...he Wants her to implicate Tejawat and Tejawat IS guilty!
He is using marriage as a threat I am sure...in a desperate bid to get her to see the truth...if you remember he tried talking to her about the girls who get married and never come back,,,she didn't even listen!
Her being a widow hasn't come into his thoughts till now...and certainly he hasn't been shown as thinking that he should exploit that...he himself hates the thought of marriage...it's as big a punishment for him!
He didn't make her an orphan,,,,her mami and others refused to acknowledge her because of Tejawat...he actually saved Paro from a fate worse than death after marriage...! Her dreams were just that anyway...the guy Varun was a fraud...she will be forced to think about all he has said atleast now..!
I think we should watch how it proceeds and not blame one or the other character!
Love stories have developed after much much more injustice and bad behaviour from the male leads !

Agree ... I think the main post and this post together sum up the situation. Both have their own POVs, and both are justified to some extent.

Rudra is using Paro yes ... but in an attempt to force the issue ... he is desperate, but he's not forcing her for any selfish ends ... he knows he is right, but he doesn't have the evidence to prove it ... and because of that, Thakur will get away with his crime, and push yet another innocent girl into a sham marriage the following year for his own gains.

And he has been gentlemanly to Paro after her return ... the manhandling has been much less, he stood up for her and did not allowed her to be humiliated by his kaaki ... he even took blows for her, all the time warning her not to get swayed by the situation and her own emotions.

He thinks she has to know something and he's trying to force her hand ... he knows she hates him and will never agree to marry him ... he's hoping that her hate for him is stronger than her love for her village family, and will make her break her silence.

Thakur is responsible not Rudra!

you are missing the point here... she is already a living corpse. Thakur is a criminal ...but here Rudra is the one who has destroyed Paro's life. The woman married off doesn't come back...Rudra knows it too and yet he suspects Paro? Why? I believe that an individual should have the right to choose one's life or destiny. If Paro's destiny would have been of nandini's or bindi's...it would be her choice and her mistake. No one has the right to disrupt her life...definitely not Rudra.

ok. lets see what this goonda mawali has done till now
1. saved her from rape and murder

2. sent her back home despite her being mixed up with that guy who was sending money through her, despite aman's insistence that she be interrogated

3. did not open fire first, challenged the baraat to declare their goods.

4. opened fire in retaliation against men who obvioulsy were traffickers and terrorists and who were killing his men. his duty is to open fire on such people.

5. single handedly dealt with them in his line of duty and for the love of the motherland. of course, all goonda mawalis do that.

6. did not touch paro. infact, shot at varun only when he threatened to kill paro.

7. had sole custody of paro, but didnt shoot her, didnt manhandle her, didnt molest her.

8. has had paro in his custody for many days now, never tried to molest her. he merely thinks she is involved in traitorous and terrorist activity against the motherland.

9. saved her life more than once from tejawat, at hospital, despite being injured himself, hidden her, even suffered his maasi's proximity to protect her becoz the haveli was the safest place for her. is it only becoz she is a witness? then why did he need to take her slap? did he need to put a water bottle on her wound and cover her with a blanket?

10. touched his despicable aunt's feet to protect her.

11. Always , always stood between her and danger
12. even stops her from touching his shoes, and then asks her to tell him if she needs anything. remember how he tried to get her clothes? sooo goonda like!

yes, of course, these are the actions of a goonda mawaali.

veryyy bad...

He manhandles her all the time...you have conveniently forgotten the numerous times he has interrogated her I which is against the protocol...a woman cannot be interrogated without a wan officer present under any circumstances...you have also missed out the numerous times he has tied her up like an animal...no he hasn't molested her... Good to know that the army men at-least have the decency because surely Indian police has a history of molestation.

She is his prime witness/captor/suspect.. Ofcourse he has to protect her...he has an interest in her well being...he needs her testimony.

do you think officers get confessions out of suspects, women or men, by being chivalrous gentlemen? do u know that in the border areas the prime carriers for traffickers are women? do you know how much men in those areas manhandle their women? as sunehri said, it is unheard for men to stand up for their women or take their hits for them. he needs to protect his witness and keep her in the house, does he need to protect her from his aunt? does he need to ensure she doesnt have to do demeaning things like pick up his shoes? does he need to take her slap or try to protect her from his relatives?

for him she is a gun-trafficker and terrorist who conspires against his country. enough reason to hate her for a patriotic officer. he is an angry man, that is the story. but already paro has managed to evoke softer reactions in him. that is also the story. when he is angry at her, he punches the wall, not her. and yes, it is a big deal if he doesnt molest her. any goonda mawali would. and the rule about women's interrogation doesnt apply for terrorists.
