He did confess to Paro that he has news that the women married off and engaged in prostitution...they never come back...and yet he suspects Paro...believes that she would willingly get into a marriage knowing her fate afterwards...don 't you think that's hypocritical on his part. If he thinks she is a criminal ...lock her up. He has no right to force her into submission through marriage.

No, the army doesnt usually do such things with regular citizens. But in this case, what has he done? he has tied her up, thats not done usually. but in india, many times rope is used as a replacement for handcuffs on both sexes. if cuffs are not readily available. yes, he knows that the women are forced into prostitution, but he doesnt know that the women dont know in the first place that gun trafficking takes place. look, in the border areas, people dont always think its bad to do smuggleing, or gun trafficking or violate territorial restrictions. they feel that its business, and many women also willingly cooperate and help in the task thinking of it as the family business. so it could well be , from rudra's point of view, that the women readily get involved or atleast know of the trafficking, while still thinking that they are actually getting married. and as for army or police doing bad things to women, i think its pretty much universal. afterall, we have cases where police of one of the world's leading cities arrest a lady diplomat of a certain origin, handcuff her unnecessarily and then cavity search her while ignoring the fact thtat she is a diplomat.
this is the border afterall, where every person is a suspected trafficker...and i repeat the laws for handling suspected terrorists are different. and of course, rudra acted outside the rules, coz the rules were allowing the culprits to escape. it is the duty of every officer, in the rules, to protect the flag at all costs. that is what he did. but what i dont understand , is why cant they use kesari ram or even aman...aman saw those guys firing and using hidden arms!

Rudra is a soldier. He may be heartless but he hasn't killed innocent people. He attacked the marriage procession only after he had already seen guns in their trunks. And remember, he opened fire only in retaliation. It was the so called baraatis who opened fire .

He knew for sure that Tejawat was and is smuggling weapons in the guise of marriage. He had already extracted the confession from one of Tejawat's accomplices. Rudra is trying to nail tejawat and stop this trafficking of young nubile girls. But Tejawat being powerful, Rudra needs proof.
It just so happens that Paro is innocent. But Rudra doesn't know it. He is aware that tejawat is trying to kill Paro. This strengthens his conviction that she definitely knows something, else why would tejawat try to kill her.
Paro however is an innocent victim of all this. Rudra no doubt is harsh, but he looks at Paro as a desh drohi whose loyalties lie with tejawat and not her mitti. Did he not try to tell paro abt the fate of her sister ? Did she listen ?
So one cant really blame Rudra. Besides he is doing his best to protect Paro. He forbade her from interacting with that badmash son of Mohini. He also tells het not to venture out in front of the majdoors. He knows she is a beautiful girl, so is trying his best to protect her even though he thinks she is a traitor. have you forgotten how he tended to her bruised feet ?
And don't forget , he protected her from the goons in the first instance.
