The episode

Paro apologised for using relationships to hurt Rudra ... but Rudra turned around and did the same to Paro, using her sister to hurt her. Or so Paro thinks ...
Does Rudra have real information on this? Or is he hitting out in the dark? It makes sense that this would be the fate of the missing girls, but till he can get Paro actual proof of this, why would she believe him?
Or is she afraid to believe him, afraid to even think that the possibility might be true? After all, what he says is true ... how is it the girls never return for festivals, never even send a letter or a message after marriage?
She doesn't want to think about this. Nandini jeeja is fine, she's happy ...
How can she say this? Does she have any proof?

She doesn't want to hear it ... what she doesn't know, can't hurt her. She'd rather lash out at him instead ... he's saying this only to hurt her, to get back at her because she hurt him. How could he say this about her sister ... she takes back her apology, her words, her sympathy ... she was wrong to feel sorry for him, because he is a jallad. A man of stone, who cannot understand the power and the meaning of relationships. Alone ... and he always will be.

That was a low blow ... but Rudra has no time to reflect on it ... more urgent to stop her rushing out in full view of the workers.

Maithili waits eagerly for Samrat ... after Paro's pep talk, she's decided to take the bull by the horns tonight. Samrat is a wuss, he doesn't want to listen. But Maithili is determined this time ... drawing strength from baby Kanha.
SN - love the mirror work on the walls ... saw the identical work on the walls of the Lake Palace in Udaipur.

Dinner time ... Sunehri exults happily about the beautiful dupatta her special bhabhisa made for her. Rudra listens, notes, absorbs. Mohini lets loose a small taunt.

Rudra still annoyed with Paro, refuses her pouring food for him. Paro gently tells him it's ann ka apmaan, he quietly allows her to pour it.
What a contrast from Laila, who said the same thing, and he didn't bother a jot. šŸ˜›

Mohini launches into latest version of nasty MIL from hell ... she has a major problem with Samrat getting kadas for his wife. Samrat is a major wuss ... why can't he speak up?! Grrr ...

And Maithili takes the bit between her teeth with an encouraging nod from Paro ...
Samrat senses danger, and like the wuss he is, wants her to keep quiet. So how and when exactly is Maithili to talk about this? Is there a special mahurat? 😔

Mohini tells Maithili she's answering back her husband?! Mohini darling, she learned that from you! šŸ˜›
Samrat doesn't want to talk in front of the entire family.
Dilsher tells him his mother doesn't have a problem interfering in his matters, so she should not mind if Dilsher interferes in theirs. After all, we are family. šŸ‘
Mohini manages to get in another taunt at that one ... she doesn't believe in hiding matters behind closed doors.
This woman doesn't miss a single chance! 🤢

And Maithili broaches the taboo topic of adoption ... encouraged by kind words by Danveer and another nod from Paro. She's done all the required homework, adoption agency, family background, even identified a little baby girl who resembles her husband.

As expected, Mohini throws the mother of all tantrums ...😔😔
Of all the men, only Danveer and Dilsher looked actually concerned ... Rudra, Samrat and Sumer were pretty blank.
Mohini spews major venom ... this is not gonna happen, I'll cut off your tongue before you can dare say this again.
Danveer remonstrates ... or tries to.

Paro makes an instant attempt to rush to Maithili's support ... only to be held back by Rudra's hold on her wrist.

Maithili tries desperately again ... and takes Paro's example ... Rudra is furious, his hold tightens on her wrist ... how did she let out information about herself?
Rudra banna, you were supposed to think up a cover story, remember?! Dilsher's face also shows worry. But Paro is only worried about Maithili.

Samrat's turn to get a taunt ... are you wearing bangles? Your wife is speaking nonsense and you're quiet ... she has you twisted round her little finger. Why did I bring this manhoos into the haveli ...
Mohini's idea of an ideal DIL is one who doesn't speak, doesn't think, doesn't have a mind of her own and definitely doesn't go against her MIL.

Paro has had enough ... if this doesn't get Samrat or anyone else to defend Maithili, nothing will. She has to speak up.
Mohini wonders viciously ... what happened today that the two DILs found their tongues? How dare they?

Paro tries to tell her, just think about it, that's all she's asking, she will be a very good mother.

Mohini gets in the lowest blow of all ... Maithili won't be a good mother, and that's why God decided to leave her childless.
Leaving Maithili to close her eyes in unutterable hurt ... for a God fearing simple woman like her, this thought have have entered her own mind too, and tortured her ... that was unbearably vicious! šŸ˜•šŸ˜
Samrat STILL doesn't speak ... even Sunehri looks upset at that one, as do Danveer and Dilsher.

Paro steps up again ... not true, if God shuts a door, he opens a window ... if He made mothers and fathers without children, he made children without parents ... so they can find each other ...
Samrat looks up at that one ...
Even Sumer looks contemplative at that ... Danveer thoughtful ... as is Rudra ...

Paro continues ... and for that, He made some very special people, who are capable of giving love to those even not their own blood ... like my Maamisa ..
Mohini has had enough ... enough lecturing from you ...

But Paro isn't done yet ... and says so ...
Ouch! 😲 That was taking the attack into the enemy camp ... till now, Mohini was actually managing to control her rage at Paro ... everyone at the table sits up at this unexpected attack ... and Mohini is baffled and shocked.
(Noticed Rudra sit up and start to move here ...)

And Paro gives the biggest example our scriptures give us about adoption ... Krishna bhagwan and Yashoda maiyya ... children are God's gift, don't call them dirt ...
And Mohini has finally had enough ... this girl is able to stand up to her, something no one else has had the audacity to so, and even quote all the scriptures back at her to justify her stand ... Mohini takes recourse to what she's been itching to do ... thwack!!!
Except the slap falls not on Paro's cheek ... but Rudra's.

Precap ... Paro tries to heal Rudra's cut, the one he took for her ... and lands up closer than she expected.

Take is late as I was out last night ... but a detailed update ... felt good to analyse all the small nuances of the episode. 😊
The first PaRud scene left a lot unspoken, a lot dangling in the air... they should carry that forward next week. It was not that Paro did not believe Rudra at all, it was that she didn't want to believe, didn't want to listen ... much like her feelings about the Thakur. She is certain about the Thakur's innocence ... yet Rudra's points about the missing girls must prickle her at the back of her mind. She is intelligent enough to know he is speaking sense ... when she allows herself to think about what he said, she might raise the topic with him again herself.

Was Paro justified in speaking so much in Maithili's support? Normally I don't like the righteous bahus interfering in something not their concern, but here it was different. Maithili needed Paro's support. Also, this is something Paro feels deeply about, because it's a very personal belief for her ... being an adopted child herself, and having received so much love from people completely unrelated to her by blood. And poor Maithili has no support ... neither from her spineless husband, nor from her sympathetic FIL ... Paro stood silently and watched while Mausam kaaki went on and on ... despite Maithili's pleas to just give the idea of adoption a thought, Mohini refused pointblank ... but when she started insulting Maithili herself, that was when Paro really couldn't take it any longer.

I found it ironic that Mohini asked Samrat if he was wearing bangles, why he was being so spineless ... she should be happy he's silent now, because I have a feeling the day he does gather a spine to speak, it will be for his wife, not against. But the way he stood quietly while his wife was being insulted, was disgusting.

Also, there is never and never will be a RIGHT time and a RIGHT person to broach this topic with a person like Mohini. In such situations, when the MIL rides roughshod over the wishes of her son, her DIL, even her own husband, it is often only an outsider who can bring up the subject and carry the fight forward. This happens often in real life ... the DIL recruiting a family friend to speak to her MIL for her and broach the subject. Outsiders are sometimes seen as more objective and balanced ... of course, not in this case šŸ˜•

The actress playing Maithili was very good today. It seems only the ladies in the house have any spine to stand against Mohini, all the men are useless! Mohini was good ... I hated the character too much today to admire the actress ... such people are unfortunately often close to real life.

Thank you for posting your take. It was missed yesterday.

Coming to the episode, I think, yes Paro knows it within her mind that what Rudra said about Nandini is right. But she cannot reason it because she has no apparent proof with her .. and actually she doesn't have any proof in favour of her belief either. Its just a wishful belief of Paro that Nandini is doing fine and she is happy.. But what hurt her was Rudra's bringing that issue with an objective to break her by her weakness.. and that really angered her.. so much that she took back the apology and cursed him ..

It was Paro's innocence and simple takes on life and relationships.. She is sympathetic to someone who is really deserving and absolutely harsh and unforgiving to those who deserve to be so, doesn't matter who that person is. This simple calculation was once again proved when she supported Maithily despite having no relationship with her and stood against Mohini knowing fully well that would have repercussions.

I agree with you about Mohini. That character I hated so much that I cannot bring myself to praising the actor. And unfortunately women like her exist in our society in a good number.

Mohini being who she is should hardly be asking Maithili how she can give palat ke jawab to her bharthaar! Of course she attributes it to a katori of ghee that Maithili may have consumedšŸ˜†
And she goes on to say that Maithili has Samrat wrapped around her little finger? Oh the irony! It's the dad who is totally under mohinis thumb! And it's usually those women who accuse their sons of the same thing...in real life too!

She was ultra cruel in saying God chose to leave Maithili childless as she wouldn't be a good mom???wonder if the thought crossed her mind that her son hasn't got to play a father role either and does the same apply to him! Again society only vilifies the woman in such a scenario.

Paro jumped in spontaneously as this is an issue close to her heart! She became a bit too courageous in the heat of the moment but well...Mohini was vicious!

As for the Parud scene Paro probably used the same defence mechanism as Rudra??when the truth gets u ncomfortable then attack the other person till they back down!

Rudra's reaction at the dining table and how Paro handled it was ber cute😊...probably the only cute thing in an episode of high family drama!

LOL still reading di! but hehe relishing the Laila- Paro differentiation with food by major saab! :p

awesome take as usual Dia di, very detailed.. and i agree to u with the behavior of Paro. cz the CVs planted clues all over the place before this. As u explained to me in FB, none of us expected her to dig her heels and say she will not take her bidai till she found her Bindi. She moved only after Thakur whom she believes beyond anything gave a promise to her that he will personally find Bindi.
And thus, for a loved one she will always find courage within her to overcome her own shyness, her own weakness maybe, and somehow stand up with courage.
In any case isn't it the very thing she is anyway doing by giving up all that is familiar and known to her by willingly coming back to a person who as far as she knows has destroyed her life?
She had the easy option of signing the papers, that was both her integrity as well as her innate nature to want to nurture and protect her loved ones at the peril of her own well being coming to the forefront.

So maybe Paro raising her voice yesterday might have come as a surprise. But then again its the same girl who screamed NOOO in her wedding when she learned of Bindi. We were shocked that the shy, meek Paro did it.
So in that sense there is a fine thread woven by the CVs through Paro's character that is binding it all together and they are keeping it intact and actually they r not at all deviating from the character sketch they initially gave.

Anyway Samrat is WUSS!! Wanted to go inside there and kick him in the very place where there is the problem most likely!
At least i feel that the issue is with that moron anwyay! grr..

In my world adoption though not very common.. i do have 2 families, 1 my dad's best friend and another one of my uncle's sisters. In both cases those children are welcomed with open arms and loved by all. In the 1st case didi is now married n has a baby too n they all love her very much!
So actually calling an adopted child 'gandagi' was a shocking statement for me! At least maybe cz its a quite highly educated urban setting I am used to but somehow the child would never ever be taunted over it like omg its a sin as Paro said to call an innocent child dirty things!!😲

In any case i liked the episode cz they brought out the religious sanctioning of adoption too.. cz at least that might prompt some viewer out there to reevaluate their standing and maybe actually make 3 people very happy - new parents and a little child!😳

and once again nice take di šŸ¤—

Thanks Diya for such a detailed analysis. I think Paro was very much in character when she stood up for Maithali, though it will now jeopardize her position in the haveli. She is the same girl who refused to have her bidaai till Bhindi was found, she stood up to Thakursa. When someone or something close to her is in line of fire she finds strength in herself to stand up and speak. She agreed to this captivity in the haveli for her Mamisa, Thakhurayan and Thakursa.

She is full of empathy and compassion. 15 years ago little Paro gave up her doll to cheer up an unknown crying boy despite herself hurting due to loss of her parents. She felt bad for her jallad knowing of his abandonment by his mother. In case of Maithali, she involved Paro by opening her heart and talking of her pain to Paro. It is a topic close to Paro's heart as she herself is an orphan who found a loving home with Mamisa, and she connected to it right away. Seeing no one coming to the aid of the heart broken Maithali, Paro stepped in. Her compassionate heart won over her practical mind to be quiet, this is who Paro is- the nurturer, the giver.

The three actresses were awesome in the scene šŸ‘ and the dialogues given to Paro about such a sensitive topic of adoption and orphans were beautiful. āļø God chooses some special couples to be parents of adopted children because they are capable of loving children who are not of their own blood. One of my family members adopted a child and I know the churning the family goes through due to different opinions even among the urban, educated lot. It is not an easy decision and one needs support of the family.

Paro did seem disturbed at Rudra's revelation about the lost girls of Birpur, but right now she will find it difficult to accept anything he says, how can she overnight negate the wisdom of elders in her village including her mamisa, Thakurayan and Thakhur who participate and conduct these marriages. These are the very people who brought her up and gave her a secure home. However, it did leave a doubt in her mind and this conversation will haunt her at a later time.

Diya,

What a wonderful analysis and and makes a nice weekend read.😃

Three scenes and each more dramatic than the other.

Yeah Paro stops Rudra from continuing further about Nandini, because somewhere she is afraid to accept or maybe even think that it could be a possibility. Like you said I hope she ponders over Rudra's words. But so much has been fed to them about the BSDs, apart from her seeing Rudra kill Varun in front of her eyes, that she might just need some kind of proof.

Rudra hasnt told her yet that Varun was holding a gun at her head when he pulled that trigger. And needs to blurt that out some time soon.

Considering Paro's nature she reacted to the situation. Maithli initiated the discussion with Kakisa. It was only when Kakisa said she would cut her tongue off that Paro freed herself from Rudra's hold and came forward to confront Kakisa.

Had Paro to initiate this discussion then it would be wrong. So for me too this interference or meddling of Paro just doesn't seem inappropriate. Hell Kakisa has been as nosy as she can be where Paro is concerned too.

I won't surprised if Tanveer is shown to raise this topic again with his wife behind closed doors. Now all are aware of this very sensitive subject.

Rudra too reacted and stopped her from interfering, but when she went ahead and started to speak he let her be. He only was on high red alert when she said firmly, "I am not finished yet". He could have easily taken her away from there, but he did not do that.

Secondly Rudra's expressions softened when Paro spoke of her views on children and motherhood. I am sure this also got Rudra thinking that here were two women who weren't like the rest of them who he thinks give up their kids and leave home.

Maithli was so very real in her scenes...the sorrow, the pain of being accused as being motherless, the cruelty of it all, and when she said she had already thought of a name...my heart just broke. The bg score was a bit too loud...but the scene was so powerful that the music just kind of gradually faded away.

Some amazing performances by all...and yes...by the end of it you so wanna hate Kakisa. How could one woman do this to another is all you can think of.

Waw! I loved how Paro was shown yesterday and it was good to see such strong and compassionate character of Paro.. Be it OTT or out of character, whatever, I simply adored her for her supporting Maithili and standing against Mohini.

However, I must say, after reading your post, i can relate her behaviors even more logically with her character. As you said, she is always like that, silent but strong and can do anything for anyone to make them feel better ... since she was that little girl who gave her doll to crying boy.

Agreed. And Paro can and will go on endlessly deluding herself that all is well with Nandini, simply because she cannot afford to have that belief undermined. Perhaps,in another existence if all were hunky-dory, then she may have had the strength to consider the Nandini question. In her current state of mind, where she's swinging between shock, grief, survival and revenge, amidst almost strangers, to have the wellbeing of the last remaining family member questioned in this way, would cause huge damage. So, strong and prolonged denial (first stage) will always be her initial reaction.

I do not like the self-righteous bahus of Indian TV but in this case it was consistent with her character and in the previous episode they showed Maithali involving her in this issue and Paro connecting to it right away. It was not out of the blue that Paro took the side of Maithali and neither did she broach the topic on her own.

She is the same girl who was crying because she could not finish her chores for her mamisa, and was worried for Bhindi despite her biggest dream of getting married to her prince charming was coming true. Parvati is the nurturer and sometimes strength is required to protect your loved ones and issues close to heart which she is displaying now.
