Although, I liked yesterday's episode I found kaaki mocking her Son and Daughter in law for not bearing any children very distasteful. The watermelon comment, made me cringe

While I understand the CVs have a job and are trying to reach out to the more conventional TRP audience, I don't think they should drag it to the point where others might start finding it distasteful or offensive, especially on a subject which requires to be dealt with sensitivity. The CVs could have avoided the watermelon comment. All of us get it that Kaaki has a caustic tongue, the makers don't have to reinforce it with such distasteful lines.

I read the written update for yesterday's episode and skipped that bit of yesterday's episode.

Keep it classy CVs.

I completely agree!! In a country like India a woman who for some reason cannot conceive is totally I'll treated and made to feel worthless! It's a very very sensitive issue and should not be used as a base for humour.
Having said that most serials have this as one of their issues and treat it equally horribly..the women are shown as ready to do anything to produce an heir ..be it risking their lives..or forcing a second marriage on their husbands!

And what I find interesting is..here The masala kaki is not denigrating only her DIL..she insulted her son too! And in an earlier episode the DIL looked distinctly uncomfortable when asked about medicines fr herself! Makes me wonder..is she at fault at all!

While I understand your sentiments K ...I have to admit I am loving chachisa's dialogues ...she is mean but hilarious. Also a daily show is a mass medium here in India and has to appeal to all sections ...
I am not condoing her behaviour atall but the lines she spews are crazy 😆 Ananya khare is a class actress ...everytime she comes on my screen I am waiting for the " next gem..." She totally owns her character.

Seriously!! Chahchi's most of the dialogues are hilarious Nd most of us here became fans of her one liners! CV's shouldn't make her say some sleazy dialogues only for the sake of creating unwanted humour eyeing on TRP!! #Bummer

Kip it classy! Kip it unique!!

G, I like her lines too, they are hilarious. But the watermelon comment crossed the line for me. Found it distasteful & offensive, especially on a sensitive subject like infertility.

Yes! This! And I was actually surprised how perfectly normal words could be used for such caustic remarks. And they did sound terrible! I generally enjoy her paratha flipping, chai running dialogues, but this time I felt really bad for the DIL. It's strange she's called, Mohini. Ironic.

Can understand how you feel but this is a reality in villages and small towns ...
And specially a woman who is not able to bear children is treated like scum ...

Her comment was a typical mother in law comment and
along with that had the crudeness which is a reality in a village /small town ...
sensitivities are not looked at by the typical crude mothers in laws ...
they feel they have the right to spew venom too if needed ...
Some even resort to getting their sons remarried for carrying their family name forward ...
