Nice Sush, your mom appears to be a good barometer!
I have been begging my mom and sisters in NZ to watch RR, but Colors apparently does not have RR. among it's line-up. A bit strange as you can see almost everything else there.

I hope so too...typically if she stops watching a show ...that kind of shows up in ratings too!

Unfortunately, my sis who is also in India ... Still refuses to watch RR...because it is "that kind" of show...and by that kind she means...something that seems very violent, sad and full of tension...she says she wants something that is " feel good"..., and of course I know that she being an independent and very progressive person does not like anything where the women are ...not shown to be particularly strong...

Her favorite shows are JA and Tumhari Pakhi...

Well, I'm sure you can convince your sister that Paro is not weak and she'll only get stronger!! I know you do it!! ;)

Thanks for making this post!! It's really nice to hear feedback of people who are watching it in India since they are the ones contributing to trps. Just today my friend told me she is loving Rang Rasiya and the story which kind of surprised me because I had showed her the promos and she was not really impressed before. Happy to hear that people of all different age groups are appreciating and watching the show!!

Sure...I recommended RR strongly...😃

She has been recommending me Ye hain Mohhabattein...which I wouldn't because the hero does not look attractive enough to me...😛 Actually she has also stopped watching that one now...😆

So the story is...

We only try what appeals to us...and unfortunately RR promos are not helping her change her opinion...😕

I never understood how TRPs are calculated.. Is there a formula... How do they know how many people tune in to watch the show? Till I see the formula used to calculate TRPs I will not judge a serial by it TRP number which to me sounds very arbitrary...

I have read many posts claiming this serial to be violent.. truly? There are loads of movie channels airing films
during the day that are more gory and obscene .. so not sure why this serial has been tagged as one...

shouldn't 9:00 be bedtime for most kids under the age? By 09:00 they should have completed homework, had their dinner and should have been tucked to bed... at least that is how it was for me ...

Hi lala! this point has been discussed in numerous posts before ...but in short...my view is that RR does not have any more violence than a typical Hindi action movie...that people watch all the time with kids (Putting kids to bed by 9:30pm does not fly in India..at least not for a lot of people)..However, what is not working for RR is the "image" that the show is violent...which is what people see when they see the hero pointing a gun at a young brides head...or when they see her hands tied sitting in the Jeep behind him...

As much as we don't like it..." Marketing" of a product is as important as the " product" itself...It is my opinion that RR has been great on the creative and production value side...but a total misfire on the marketing side...I strongly recommend changing the 2 vignettes for RR
1) The picture of the major pointing a gun to Paros head
2) Paro sitting behind the back of the army Jeep with her hands tied , which have been highly promoted and shown everywhere.

Both pictures are dramatic...and I can see why the creatives love it...but they are totally the wrong "images" for the target audience...Soap watching junta is typically women...who want to see emotions ...and preferably a story about emotions...RR, definitely has those...and they have got leads who emote so well...but they need to be highlighted instead of highlighting what seems like " terrorizing innocents" type of pictures...

But I don't get it!! There was a show like Pratigya on SP!! And that used to have violence too especially against women and that show managed to be #1 show on TV for some time!! What about that?!! And in that family they were quite brutal!!
