Happy Superbowl Sunday, Rangrasians!

Those of you who follow my Suhspectives know that once in a while I write about my moms view of a soap...we both are watching...My mom of course, is a TRP auntie...and lives in India...and has nothing to do with IF...TRP news and all that...

So here is how the conversation went this morning:

Sush - Mom what TV serials are you watching?

Mom- Jodha Akbar and Rang Rasia...and I am watching aur pyar ho Gaya also...

Sush- So you are liking RR?

Mom- Yes, yes...the boy is really a good actor...The girl is good too!

Sush- 😆 Yeah...mom...I am watching him for the first time too...apparently he is a product of an acting school...

Mom- Tabhi!...(meaning Yes, that would explain it...)...his walk and talk all is like of a person in the military...)

Sush- Yeah mom...I specially liked Fridays episode...

Mom- Yes, the girl made nice chapatis for them...did you see what kind of chapatis were they eating before? Thick and burnt...now it is good...

Sush- Yes, mom and how about the challenge...when she says dekhten hein? .

Mom- Yes that too...and the Chachi is doing a great job...she came in...and mom goes through a list of other serials, where she watched the actress playing some role...none of which were familiar to sush...

Sush- OK, OK...I haven't seen any of that...I don't really care much about her...

Mom- But she is acting very well...!!

Sush- So mom...what else are you liking...?

Mom- JA is good...but Jodha fights a lot, and the new one aur pyar is interesting too...

There you have it...review from someone who actually influences TRP...and is often a good indicator of what her segment likes our does not like ...

😃😃

Update: Oops...how could I forget...my mom mentioned Aman too...how much he suits the role, and how he makes these nice observations and suggestions to his boss (she means the major), which she thought was really endearing!

😆 ...and that is exactly how my aunt speaks...and ofcourse she wants them to get married ASAP.

Ha ha...my mom is like...lets see if he will marry her...I told her about the promo indicating the start of the MU about them being married...mom is like ok...may be he will then...Sush says...who knows mom..he may not...lets see...😃

I hope so too...typically if she stops watching a show ...that kind of shows up in ratings too!

Unfortunately, my sis who is also in India ... Still refuses to watch RR...because it is "that kind" of show...and by that kind she means...something that seems very violent, sad and full of tension...she says she wants something that is " feel good"..., and of course I know that she being an independent and very progressive person does not like anything where the women are ...not shown to be particularly strong...

Her favorite shows are JA and Tumhari Pakhi...

Nooo, I don't want them to get married!! :( I know mostly women watch to see marriages only which is sad for me!! LOL

Thanks Sush, good to get a fresh new perspective on the show. Seems the creatives are heading in the right direction with the introduction of Ranawat family. Hope the audience base increases slowly.

I know our moms and aunties are all for marriage😆...but I was like, Mashi, hold on. I want Paro to be strong and proved innocent first...and she needs to check Rudrasa out...Rudrasa has to work for her first 😆...she was like, no wonder Sumi ( my cousin sis) doesn't want to get married with her boyfriend of 6 yrs because I have brainwashed her.
