Been silently seeing this post for a while now, but this one I do want to say some things

1. @ blue- Where does anorexia come into this? The person who has been quoted (mpat) clearly says she wants to go the exercise way to a fit tummy.. Assuming its exercise that people do in gyms..We have a generation of couch potatoes who are increasing the stats of heart disease by the minute.. If Sanaya's flat tummy has inspired someone to hit the gym, what's wrong with it? Whether she achieves that or not is a different thing..

2.@ red- I'm glad you accepted those as your personal problems.. That's what this entire discussion finally comes down to- personal opinions.. I hate wearing dupattas like a drape, instead prefer to wear them like Khushi does and love chiffon dupattas.. In most cities, dupattas are no longer considered a must with salwar suits.. So how one wears it is a personal preference.. And in a show the preference of the makers..

Ramleela having a U/A has the least to do with Deepika's outfits and more with the film content..

3. @ violet- This is the part i found objectionable.. How can one define a person's character by one's clothes.. It is this attitude among men and women alike that leads to episodes like Delhi.. Cant a woman wearing a mini skirt be religious, cant she have her faiths?? It is this attitude that has kept women lagging behind for generations.. Essentially instilled into the female mind by men to maintain male domination..

4. @ pink- This part helps me understand why you think so.. Having lived in the metro cities of India for most of my life, when I moved to a smaller town I have seen plenty of people with this attitude.. Been through the "dupatta situation " in real life.. Its a matter of situations and personal opinions.. What one is comfortable with..

So just as it is not right to call someone a "behenji" because she is dressed conservatively it is not right to judge someone's values or principles by her clothes.. Even a girl in a bikini has the right to be pious if she wants to be..

Why did the goons not touch Sanaya's waist? Yes there is censoring on TV and there are people appointed for that!!

It was not my intention to judge your personal opinions and all I want to say is extend the same courtesy to others..

chechi very well said👏 logon ki soch badalni hain, dress nahi

i m from india not an NRI ...lives in lucknow (which is considered as a small city i dont know y) ..
belong to a typical brahmin family (dey r considered orthodox )...my parents hav taught me dat a gals character n moral is seen from how she behaves wid her elders , how she behave in d socity , how much respect she gives to other people point of views whether big or small
a girl in mini skirt can be d best wife n daughter n daughter in law if she hav all the above quality
and a girl in full sleves n tummy covered blouse wid a saarii can be d worst person ever came across if she doesnt hav d above qualities

this was d sole reason i wanted ppl to watch chanchan , so dat dey can understand dat a girl should not be judged by her clothes

it breaks my heart wen i see girls commenting like dis ,
a girl in saari is tortured n burned for dawry n is blamed characterless by her husband to make socity shut der mouth
a girl walking on d streets of delhi in a salwaar suit was brutally rapped ...

but still wen we have discussions like dis 90% of males n 30% of females blames d girls who wear short dresses n mini skirts

statistically
90%- raped girls were found wearing saari n suits n lehnga cholis(villagers)
10% raped girls were found wearing jeans n proper kurti style tops
gals raped wearing mini skirt ---no datas till now

i dont have a problem with the length of her blouse or the way her skirt looks like its stuck to her lower waist with glue.
i have a problem with the way her dupatta is draped.
i had a problem when khushi safetypinned her dupatta.
i had a problem when kumud used one layer chiffon for her dupatta.
i have a problem with those churidar styles that put a layer of chiffon at your midriff, too.
those are my personal problems.

i dont mind deepika wearing that outfit in ramleela because that is a movie that you go to theaters to see.. you choose to see it.. and it is a one time thing. and that movie has a rating of U/A or PG13.

this is a little closer to home. this IS a daily soap, whatever its makers want it to be. there are a lot of people watching the show, not just people of the urban/NRI community who dont care if they see less clothes than normal(as long as it is "glamorous").

in my personal opinion, it looks ridiculous when a woman with half her naked skin on display * looks pious/corteous/aagyakari.( * as compared to the support actors/extras- the women around her) ah well, i guess it matches with a "hero" who kills ruthlessly.

i dont think any of the 90's heroines looked less glamorous because they wore clothes that covered their body better. what say madhuri, kajol, aishwarya, sushmita?

when the bandits touched parvati.. i was expecting at least one to go straight for her buttercream hip.. because those hips were made to be touched. but the extras were careful to touch only clothed parts of her body.. why? because the actress, sanaya as a person, is uncomfortable with unknown men groping her? or is it because that would hit too close to reality? or because there is censoring on tv, too?

.
i come from a village, i come from a town.. i was raised by parents who insisted that a woman's virtue is accented by the clothes she wears. as a grown woman, i feel that you can be beautiful, and glamorous, without exposing your body. if you disagree, okay. if you agree, okay. this is my opinion, and thats it, rant over.

@red: I was raised by parents who pretty much believed this too, though i don't at all subscribe to the same school of thought so i wear what i want when I am not around dad so his feeling don't get hurt.

anyway i will take this whole thing to a different level, cz i was waiting till i got near my laptop after reading this part in green. I was wondering how long it will take some1 to bring this up. Only thankfully u left it at '
. i was expecting at least one to go straight for her buttercream hip..' and not anything further.. u mentioned it as if she was wearing a burka at that moment covered from head to toe and Rudra didn't turn up they wouldn't have raped the girl anyway!

Let me sum it up with one line 'Nazar teri gandi aur parda main daalun?'

This is not something I am saying regarding this utterly useless none serious discussion. But u just now brought up 'woman's virtue' depends on clothes line!

I say a woman can walk stark naked on a street and no man has a right to lay a finger on her! maybe call the police to take care of law breaking as its against the law. but no man has a right to make a woman feel like shit for wearing less clothes!

I cried yesterday while watching TV cz i remembered Nirbhaya while watching those animals..
I will say this pattern of thinking of a woman's whole so called virtue depends on the covered up amount is what has led to a girl wearing a jeans or a skirt to be thought as free pass for a cheap thrill!

Anyway i am sorry, if this offends u, but hat green line utterly offended me!

it's disturbing to note that as soon as someone who dares to write even a single thread even remotely criticizing the show or lead...the discussion goes haywire.
i am really impressed with DT's work on this forum but still i think some people are getting little too touchy when it comes to this show and sanaya.

and i am not saying this as a veiled attack or targeting a group...i am very dis-appointed with what is happening on the forum
**************************************************************************
And yes i do not find anything provocative in sanaya's dress. in fact if you see mytho shows currently on air, there is lot more exposure from both genders 😃

Fabulous, this discussion is going exactly in the same line I anticipated it would. 👍🏼

Also for everyone's benefit- anorexia doesn't happen when someone goes to the gym and works out, anorexia happens when you starve yourself to look thin. Big difference between 2.

Lets not marginalise anorexia, its a serious issues with many long terms physicals & psychological side effects.

I think it is best to close this topic as sensitive matters are being discussed which I don't think are appropriate.

I respect every one has different views and you have every right to come here and discuss them.

However, the topic isn't about the original point and is turning sour.
