He stares at her interminably, the events of the past almost two years roll in front of his eyes, from the time she was a ice maiden through the time she claimed to love Sooraj, the wedding, the honeymoon, the settling down, crisis at work, separation...
He cannot believe his ears, he still could not believe she wanted HIS child. His heart sang. She had no idea how happy that made him
The Khanak he knew was extremely shy and private. Suddenly she would throw a bombshell like this one. Just like at Beacon Hill, at the park when she told him "Kaise reh paaoongi main aapke bina"
K:Aap kahan kho gaye?
He checks his watch, shaking his head... "Kab chahiye bacha?"
He smiles
She is FURIOUS...
"You think its a joke?" turns away
"Nahi"
She tears herself away, pushing his arm, pulling it off her waist...
"You think its a joke" (offended)
"Khanak, meri baat suno" (softly, leaning on her, almost laying on her)
"Nahi" "You think I am an idiot"
"Khanak" (he laughs)
"I am not going to talk with you"
She is laying on her side eyes closed... he is laying half on her half to her side...
"Repeat it" (husky)
"Never!"
He does stuff to her to make her say it again...
Minutes roll by
Her breath is knocked out, she stares at him, as he leans down
"Kaho: he says
"I want to have a baby"
He smiles smugly as if she just said "You are the boss of the world" or some such profound thing
"He might be like I was"
"Hmm" she reaches and caresses his face
"Fat and slobbery"
"No... handsome with twin creases on ne side " she fingers it... "That cleft on the chin" "Too focussed on work"
"U dont like me"
"I wont care, not after the baby" (husky)
"Why"
"I will have him, we will do stuff together, we will go places, he will be MINE"
His leg insinuates between hers "I am yours also"
"Nahi"
"Will you sleep in the nursery?" (meddling with her mangal sootra)
"Probably!"
"I cant allow that"
"You will be lucky if you see me once a week" (smug, husky)
He kisses her neck... " What about me?"
"You can be at work" "I wont call you or bother you or pitch a fight"
He climbs over completely
"You want a baby so you can abandon your husband?"
"Fitting payback"š³š³
That will be the last thing she would say for the next half hour or so...

It was drizzling when the car pulle dinto work. Shaan had to meet Ajay Gupta and a couple of other Execs at Maurya so he took off around 9 30 ish..
She wore a lemon yellow kurti with jeans, and strappy thong sandals
She wore her mangal sootra strung on her gold chain.
Her henna will give her away so there isnt much hiding possible
She meets Ira and Swati by the copier they notice her mehandi and jump up in joy
"Aapki engagement ho gayi?"
"She whispers "Shaadi bhi"
"KYA" they chorus
"Hmmm"
"KISKE Saath"
She drags them to the nearest empty conference room and shuts the door
"Kya hua" Ira is worried
"Kuch nahi she says
"Phir yaha kyon laayi"
"I wanted to tell yougys I have reconciled with my husband"
"You were already married?"
"Hmm"
"Husband kaha hai?"
Swati: Woh apne office mein hongey idiot
Ira:Oh! sorry!
K: He is Shan Gujral
Their jaws drop
"Aaj to April 1st bhi nahi hai" Swati worries
K: Its not a prank I am sorry...
Ira squeals, Swati hugs her
They want to see pictures RIGHT NOW
She takes them to her desk, sets up her PC, sifts thru 100s of albums and finds one of Beacon Hill shares some pictures, of them standing by Serendipity at Chesapeake Bay
"Yeh to kitne handsome hain"
"Trish ko maloom hai?"
Khanak smiles smugly and says "Nahi abhi nahi"š³š
