He walks to the balcony, signally 5 with his hand, she collects her things, and walks back to the living room and counts her money
He watches it leaning on the rail, facing the inside
He can sense its not a thick wad of bills
She bunches up some receipts, goes back to her room and puts it away
Wears her thong sandals and opens the front door, he smiles and follows her.
The driver nods and smiles seeing the couple together, which is so rare.
S:I need a favor from you
K: Mujhse?
S:Haan tumse

S:I need to buy something for Mom's Bday, so lets go get that first if you dont mind?
K: Oh right! November 1st
K:Nope! I LOVE to shop, jab koi aur paise kharche to kya baat hai.

He smiles, asks the driver to go to DLF Emporio
S:I was thinking of a saree
K:Really? (smiles)
S:Mom's into sarees these days...
K: Thats nice
S:She says "Grandma clothing"
K laughs
S: I know the feeling
They exchange a look
S:You dont wear sarees any more?

K: Umm..mmm, bus mein its a pain

They get to Emporio and he walks into Satya Paul
She is enchanted by whatever is on display, she has two of those as part of her trousseau

The personal shopper checks out the couple, she can sense their clothing is expensive so she is willing to part with a smile and offer assistance
S:I want her to pick a saree for my Mom
SP Employee: Sure maam what kind?
She looks at him
S:What ever is trendy?
Kwalks with the shopper, he is leaning on a couch hand in pocket other on the phone, feet criss cross
He tries to listen in, his wife pauses at many many, one she particularly loves it lookslike to him...
Assistant: Do you want to try this maam? Pink is your color
K:Oh! No! The price tag is not (laughs)
The price tag of her love is Rs41,400
A: You really like it?
K: I do
A:Where does ur MIL live?
K: Mumbai
Her MIL's fave color is sea green she picks a gorgeous one with metallic embellishments on the border, the tag reads Rs.39,800
She brings it to the front, "Yeh le leejiye, she will love it" (smiling)
S:Will you wear it if she hates it?
Assistant: Sir you can take it to our store in Mumbai and exchange it.
S:Thanks (smiles)
Hands his card, K is browsing accessories and blouses... she seems happy and pleasant
They leave the store in aout an hour
S:where to next?
K: some place you want to go?
S: Your college?

He leads the way opens the car door, instructs the driver.
She talks a lil about the Planning building and Architecture building
The hostels she says are in New Friends Colony
S: You must buy me chai at the canteen
K: I can afford a lunch now (smiles)
S: Did you work? (softly)
K:Umm... only in summer

K:At a friend's Dad's friends in Ahmedabad

K: General admin stuff, he was a construction contractor

They ride quietly for the next 20 or so minutes...
S:Where do you want to eat?
K:My canteen?
S:real food Khanak
K:ITO mein thali khaayen?

K:Theek hai aap mujhe ITO utaar deejiye, main shaam ko ghar aa jaaoongi
S looks at her and says "ghar"
K: Mera matlab "aapke apartment" (embarrassed that she assumed it was her house)
s: Haan mera...
S:Well eat where ever you want and then go t Maidens, for a real meal
K:Maine waha kabhi nahi khaya
S: Today is a good day to try
They get to SPA.
She jumps out of the car and runs inside, he saunters drinking in the sights
The building or the inside is not very much to talk about. Could pass off for a government office just as the hundreds in the vicinity
Its musty and unkempt inside... she talks cheerfully and asks questions and exchanges pleasantaries with the Class 4 staff
Persons that look like faculty pause and give her curious looks
She intros herself, and intros him as "shan Gujral"
They walk the corridors, she pauses at the end and turns around
