Part 23-

As Preeti walked out of her room, across the staircase she saw Shashank in his room, working on something with his laptop. She smiled lightly, and felt water drip softly from her hair, as she had just taken a shower. Shashank was talking to someone on his phone, when suddenly he felt cold droplets on his forehead.

What, the...? Shashank said as he turned around and saw Preeti grinning mischievously.

Hey! He smiled and pulled Preeti onto his lap, while he was still on the phone.

Preeti tried to get up, but Shashank just held on tighter.

Yeah Mr. Mehta, I'll just get back to you on the presentation, no no I'm not that busy... Oh my secretary, Preeti, yes we are engaged, *laughs* no I don't think she'd like that! Shashank said as he held on to Preeti.

Mr. Mehta?! I can't stand him, woh kya keh raha hai? Preeti whispered.

Haan, haan you're right, Preeti shouldn't work, after we're married! Shashank laughed winking at Preeti, as she glared at him.

Alright Mr. Mehta... I'll talk to you soon, Shashank said ending his conversation while Preeti looked at him angrily.

*As Shashank turned to look at Preeti, Preeti hit him on the shoulder* Ow... OW! Okay, okay I'm sorry, Shashank laughed loving how angry Preeti was.

Why do you mean by, Preeti shouldn't work...? Are you firing me?! Preeti exclaimed.

*Shashank laughed* Arrey mere pyaare se Preeti, what I meant was that you're obviously not gonna work as a full time architect.

Kyun? She asked.

*Shashank rolled his eyes* What kind of an idiotic husband do you think I would be? He asked.

*Preeti shrugged and started to smile when suddenly Shashank spoke up*

You know what? Don't answer that. Preet, I want you to be my business partner. You're already my life partner, why not be every single partner of my life? He said smiling into Preeti's glistening eyes.

Sha...Shashank...? Preeti whispered unable to grasp her feelings.

After placing Khanak back on her bed, Shaan went downstairs hungry for something to eat. As he reached the kitchen he saw Abeer, Leher and Mahi walk into the house. In the kitchen Arjun was snooping around in the refrigerator, guessing that he was to make himself a sandwich.

Mahi! What a pleasant surprise?! Arjun said grinning largely as he cut his sandwich into half.

I'll take that, thank you! Shaan said reaching for one of the halves.

Oye! That's mine, Arjun replied looking annoyed.

*Mahi smiled* Hi Arjun, she said.

Mahi sat down across from Arjun discussing last night when suddenly Leher asked where Khanak was.

Oh, woh soh rahah hai, Shaan said biting into his sandwich.

Soh raha hai? Itni late? Leher asked.

*Shaan smiled* Nahi, woh actually she uh.. helped me with some stuff early this morning, and she got tired, so yeah... he said.

*Leher grinned slightly* Ahh, I see, she said as she looked at Abeer excitedly, while Abeer just smirked.

Arohi walked in from the back door, returning from the park. She caught Arjun's eye, when she heard Mahi say hello to her.

Hey Arohi! Mahi said.

*Arohi frowned* Hi...she said grumpily, and stalked to the counter to get herself some juice. Near the sink she went to Leher and whispered, Woh hameesha yahaan kyun aata hai, uski koi kaam nahin hai?

Arohi! Mahi's so sweet, tum yeh kyun kaho gi? She asked.

Uugh, never mind, Arohi replied.

*Leher rolled her eyes and went to go sit at the table, where everyone else was* So it's been awhile since we've all gone out somewhere, I mean besides last night. Arohi, didn't you say you wanted to go sight-seeing someplace.

Yeah! Actually I read someplace that a new mall opened up near downtown. So we could go there, if you guys wanted to? Arohi said.

Sure, why don't we plan going sometime next week, Abeer said.

Uhh, Leher upstairs in my room I have a pile of papers on my drawer, can you go get them for me? He asked.

Kyun? She asked suriously.

Leher, please..., he said looking at her intently.

Ohhkay, I'll be right back, she answered as she went upstairs.

As soon as she left Abeer looked at everyone excitedly.

Kya hua, tu itna khush kyun lag raha hai? Arjun asked.

*Abeer grinned at everyone* Soo, we all know what's in 2 weeks, right?

Everyone looked confused

*Shaan looked around looking for answers until he finally gave up* Nooo... what's in 2 weeks? He asked.

*Abeer sighed* Guys, its Leher's birthday! He said.

Oh really! That's so exciting, what are you planning? Mahi asked.

*Abeer sighed even bigger* that's the reason why I wanted to talk to you guys; even I don't know what to give her.

What did you give her last year? Shaan asked.

Oh.. I uh...proposed to her, Abeer said sheepishly.

Well... nothing beats that, now does it?! Arjun joked playfully.

Guys I'm serious, I really don't know what to get her! Abeer complained.

Yaar, don't worry we'll think of something, tu stress maat le, Shaan said.

Just then Leher had made her way downstairs with Preeti and Shashank.

What's going on? Leher asked.

Nothing jaan, just some preparations! Abeer replied.

Leher looked at him, wondering why he was smiling so much, when suddenly they heard angry footsteps coming down the stairs.

Shaan! I'm gonna kill you! Khanak yelled stomping towards him.

Since the channel is about to be axed, many of it's previous shows are being to buy time for a new channel to be introduced! And am kinda liking the story very much!! Kritika really looks radiant in it!! I'd say she's one Beautiful lass!!😈
