Part 12-

It was a warm and sunny morning at the gang's house. Everyone was busy preparing themselves for the unexpected puja that both Abeer and Leher's mom's organized. The girls were fussing over what Salwar suit to wear, while the guys were annoyed with all the noise and chaos that was going about.

Abeer, when did you say Mahi was going to arrive? Leher asked holding a phone to her ear.

Umm, right about now? I don't know she said she was going to be here in the morning, Abeer said.

And I was right.. came a voice from behind.

Hi Bhaiya! Mahi squealed rushing to go give Abeer a hug.

Hey! Dude you're so big, you grew! Abeer laughed squeezing his little cousin into a bear hug.

*Mahi laughed* enough of that, where's Leher bhabhi? She asked.

Hi Mahi! Leher said coming behind Abeer.

Hi! Leher gave Mahi a hug.

Oh, it's so good to see you guys, I can't wait to plan your wedding! Mahi said.

Mahi saw Shaan walk towards Abeer, and immediately her smile grew.

Bhaiya! You didn't tell me that Shaan bhaiya was here, Mahi whined.

*Leher looked at Abeer confused* Back in Mumbai when Shaan would come to our house, Mahi favored him the most! Abeer said.

*Shaan laughed and gave Mahi a hug* I missed you kid, he said

I missed you too! Shaan bhaiya was everyone's favorite, Mahi said to Leher.

That he is, Leher agreed.

Everyone got ready for the puja, while Leher went and introduced Mahi to the girls.

Abbey, Abeer how come I never saw Mahi before? She's cute! Arjun said poking Abeer

Yaar please, tu abhi shuru maat ho jaa, she's my little cousin! Abeer complained.

So, she's cute, damn cute! Arjun smiled.

Arjun, yaar even this is a little awkward for me, I mean she's like a little sister, Shaan said.

Hey guys look, the girls are coming! Shashank said.

Approaching towards them were Khanak, Preeti, Arohi and Leher walking with Mahi. Everyone was looking gorgeous in their salwar suits, especially Khanak. She walked toward Shaan wearing a turquoise blue and white chudidar, a smile on her face. Shaan was completely lost for words at the sight of her.

Ermm, is there something on my face? Khanak asked looking unsure.

What? NO!, no, uhh you look really nice, Shaan said stumbling for words.

*Khanak blushed* Thanks!

Aye Hayee, Pretty Malhotra, kya baat hai, aaj toh aap zaroorat se bhi zyaada khooobsurat lag rahe ho! Shashank said teasing Preeti.

Humare Preeti toh everyday bahut khooobsurat lagti hain, aaj kaun sa special din hai? Khanak asked Shashank smiling.

Everyone laughed on complimented each other welcoming Mahi into their conversations. At the puja Arohi nudged Khanak and Preeti.

Dekho iss Luchey ko, kaisa ghoor ghoor ke dekhra hai, Mahi ko? Arohi said squinting her eyes, pointing towards Arjun.

*Khanak laughed* Kyun? Tujhe koi problem hai kya? She asked, while Preeti laughed.

Mujhe kya problem hogi? Main uss taraf ki ladke ko jaanti ho, I'm gonna go warn Mahi, before he goes and talks to her, Arohi said rushing towards Mahi.

I think someone's jealous, Khanak sang.

Un dono ka kuch nahi hoga, Preeti said shaking her head. Vaise Khanak, aaj Shaan ki nazar sirf ek jaaga pe aatke huya hain, hmm? Preeti asked.

Please, Shaan! *Khanak shook her head wondering why she was blushing so deeply*

After the puja, Shaan went to go stand near Khanak, who had just finished talking to a group of people.

Hey! He said.

Hi, did you eat yet? She asked.

Nah, not yet, you? He asked.

Same, she smiled.

The two were looking at Abeer and Leher performing an aarti together, while Shashank was making fun of Abeer.

You know, I really love puja's, Khanak chirped.

Really now? He asked.

Mmhmm, I mean I love how the family comes together, and were all joined by this sacred thing you know, it's like a different experience all together! She said.

Yeah, I guess I know what you mean. When I was little mom would always make us visit the mandir before and after school. She said if we always had a problem, with no one to talk to, there was always god, he said smiling at old memories.

*Khanak smiled* Yeah, he's always there'

Guys, come on, Group photo! Shashank exclaimed rushing to go pull Shaan and Khanak toward the living room.

After the whole Puja was over the gang sat in their living room, playing Truth or Dare

Okay Arjun its your turn, truth or dare? Shashank asked.

Obviously dare, main koi darpook nahi hoon! Arjun said.

Accha toh saabit kar, umm' okay, so pretend you're gay, Shashank said.

What?! Arjun yelled.

Yaar khatam toh karte de, so you're gay *Arjun glared at him* and you think that Shaan is really hot * Shaan threw a pillow at Shashank threatening to leave* so go and ask him out, Shashank said.

Yaar, please main yeh saab nahi kar sukta hoon *everyone started to laugh besides Shaan*

Shashank tu meri bezaati kar raha hai!, Shaan said.

What bezaati, c'mon darpooks its just a dare, we're not gonna record this, go be a mardh! Shashank said while Abeer almost fell off the couch laughing.

Arjun sighed swearing at Shashank, and walked towards where Shaan was sitting looking very disturbed.

Just get it over with! Shaan said.

*Arjun sighed, and looked at Shaan lovingly* OH MY GOD, you're so hot *Arjun put his finger under Shaan's chin* Kya tum bhi woh ho, jo main ho? Arjun asked batting his eyelashes.

Abeer fell to the ground laughing his head off while the girls were clutching their stomachs from laughing so hard.

Uhh, excuse me? Shaan asked.

*Arjun held Shaan's face in a tight grip* Meri aankhon mein dekhoon, tumhe kya dekhay raha hai? Arjun asked.

I don't know'? Shaan asked.

Main, main tumse' gaah I can't do it Shashank! Arjun said.

*Shashank and Abeer laughed* See tu bhi ek darpook ho! Shashank exclaimed.

Yeah, yeah whatever, Arjun slumped back into his seat while Arohi was dying of laughter, Arjun glared at her.

Okay, now it's Shaan's turn! Khanak said. Truth or Dare?

Truth, he said.

No that's cheating! Shashank exclaimed.

Yeah, Shaan, you can't pick truth twice in a row! Khanak said.

*Shaan sighed* Okay, dare! He said.

Shaan, I dare you to' sing, Khanak said.

Shashank and Arjun looked aghast. Surely Shaan wasn't going to sing, he never sang anymore. Abeer looked confused but he didn't say anything.

Uhh, sing? Shaan asked.

Yeah, I dare you to sing, right now in front of everyone, Khanak said.

Everyone was quiet, looking to see if Shaan was going to sing. Shaan got up and walked to his room, not saying anything. Everyone looked at Khanak, but she just stared at Shaan.

Dude, he's not gonna sing! Shashank said.

Yeah, Khanak he's not going to, Arjun said.

Guys, shh! Khanak replied.

Just then Shaan walked down the stairs, strumming his guitar

"Hum kis galli ja rahe hai

Hum kis galli ja rahe hai

Apna koi theekana nahi'

Apna koi theekana nahi'"

Everyone looked at Shaan with their mouths open, only Abeer and Khanak smiled back at Shaan.

"Armano ki anjuman me, besud hain apnee lagan mein

Apnaa koyee fasana nahi'

Apna koyee fasana nahi'"

Shaan pulled Leher up and started to dance with her, Smiling at Khanak from behind, he walked around everyone continuing to sing.

"Ek ajnabee sa chehra rehta hai meri nazaar mein'

Ek dard aa ke thehra din raat darde jigar mein"

He paused for a second looking away, until Khanak came up behind and patted him on the shoulder.

"Hum kis galli ja rahe hain'

Hum kis galli ja rahe hain

Apna koyee theekana nahi'

Apna koyee theekana nahi"

He finished singing and Abeer, Arjun and Shashank all got up and gave him a big group hug, Shaan faced Khanak and winked at her.

worth the wait..
loved the truth n dare session..
the puja session where boys were fida over the girls in traditional dresses..
the little talk of shaan-khanak was awesome..loved their little chat..
finally shaan singing..may the boys would be wondering how did shaan accept to sing..
waise we know that abheer-shaan share a special bond..so did we observe that shaan is changing for good..that is he is opening up than before..
