Shaan: Hey! Are you out? Do you need a ride? I am going to be late (apologetic)

Khanak: Aap busy hain?

Shaan: Should be done in a half hour? I promise (husky passionate)

Khanak: Ermm

Shaan: where are you?

Khanak: In Pune!

He chuckles "Funny!" "Itna naraaz ho? "

She feels terrible

Shaan: I will see you at your office at 7:15?

Khanak: Umm'. (fights her tears) I am in Pune (sobs)

Shaan: What happened? What?

Khanak: I just got off the bus! (cries)

Shaan: kya hua? (worried) Is your Kaka OK? Is that why you tried calling me? (his turn to feel like a heel)

Khanak: Nahi' Chachaji theek hain, (blows her nose wipes her tears) Its Mehul

Shaan: Kya hua?

Khanak is ashamed. Never ever in her 25 years has she been so ashamed of anything. Words fail her.

Shaan: khanak, what is wrong with Mehul (losing it)

Khanak: Hes with the police (not wanting to say the word "jail")

Shaan: WHAT?

Khanak: I don't know yet''..

Shaan: So you ARE IN PUNE? (hopping mad)

Khanak: uhh' haaan!

He just hangs up

She dials again, starts to walk, flags a rickshaw, haggles, disconnects the phone, seats herself, and dials again

He doesn't pick up.

She tries a couple more times, no response

She feels tired, sweaty and hungry, she realizes her lunch is sitting at her desk. Dadi had said it was pulao-raita and kheer. Her tummy rumbles when the names get recorded in her brain.

She gets off at the small cramped housing complex. Kaki's close friends are inside.

Mitali is making chai. The television is ON on a music channel😡😡

She walks into the kitchen and glares at Mitali

She jumps up and hugs her. Rants about Mehul and his escapades.

She is not even sure if that's even going to help

She is frustrated, tired and upset. She wants a hug

She goes to the front yard, dials her husband's number

Its an hour since she called from the bus stop.

It rings 7 times, it never usually rings so long...

They both don't say a word.

He can hear her breathe, it makes him more livid. It's a Friday night, they've been married for a month. They miss each other immensely

Khanak: Aap baat nahi karenge? (pleads)😭😭😭

Shaan: Nahi!😡😡

i actually feel bad for both of them.

she actually tried. he cannot possibly be super super mad or create this into something big. i mean sure. in hindsight he might be. but hope its one of those. lasts for a second and then realizes his folly too.

this dadi. really is something. and ram. he is quite the taken her under his wing. watches out for her. a true part of family kind of guy.

ah! aglaa partt...kal tak? really?...you've spoiled us. you cannot possibly expect us to just have one update a day. 😭

agar me phirse complain that tommorrow is too long. ek aur part milega😉

dude. i dont get it. he felt bad. but then he got pissed? (i mean i understand not being happy that in the morning you had plans to go to movie and in evening she is in pune..but still) if he does not get over himself soon. i hope she gives it back to him.
