Yup, since Shanak have been given 2 days by Simran to leave, the best thing they can do is go back to the Khandelwals, w/ an explanation about what they did.
Shan doesn't have to look @ this as a defeat - he can continue his chorus practice, and work towards becoming a singer, while using minimal of the family resources. However, Khanak no longer has to run around w/ him - she was on good term w/ rest of the family, and can happily get along w/ saas & jethani, while Shan works to make himself successful.
Then maybe end the serial on a note of an album of Shan being a hit, and getting him enough cash to start his own company (like Rahul did - maybe even bring back Rahul as a partner, or something) and prove to his family that he's no pushover.
