Shanak OS 2:

Shantanu Natasha and Khanak are doctors'.

Shantanu is a 1 st yr MD resident.. Natasha is a 2 nd yr MD resident and Khanak is in the last month of her MBBS internship'

Khanak has met Natasha' and interacted a little with her during the internship in other specialities.. But Shantanu had joined hust 6 months back when Khanak was in her rural posting so she did not have any idea abt him.. Just seen him a couple of times'.He was good looking'. Very good looking infact and smart too..And girls used to go gaga over him'.he spoke less to girls' but whichever girl he spoke to.. wud comeback to the hostel and boast of being very good friends with him''.He came across as a very serious and hardworking guy'

So Khanak was very apprehensive abt the new posting.. ' It demanded a lot of work'She somehow got away with her internship easily until now.. did not have to slog much compared to her counterparts but knew she cannot expect the same in this dept'

So it was her first day at the General medicine OPD..She formally introduced herself to Natasha all over again'who was a friendly person'Khanak had to assist a senior doc so she went to his cabin' while the rest of her friends stayed in the cabin where all the interns and pg residents saw patients..

Khanak returned to the residents cabin with a long list of orders from the senior doc to Shantanu.. It was already lunch time..Shantanu gave Khanak a very irritated look when she handed him orders and told her that he ll do it'' Khanak got back to the prof s cabin thinking to herself .." what a first meeting ' he is gonna blame me for spoiling his Saturday afternoon "

By 2.. the opd was closed..All the residents and interns where abt to leave.. and khanak joined back with the rest of the group..

She was abt to leave the room.. she was pulled the door open.. held it' leaning on to it.. was checking her mobile..

When suddenly Shaan comes from behind moves on to face her and says :" Hi I am Dr. Shantanu Khandelwal and you are"'with a small smile.

Khanak was busy in her mobile .. she was startled when he heard his voice and left the door. "Oops sorry "

Shaan holds the door and thereby preventing it from banging'.

"I am Khanak'"

Shaan : Can I have ur mobile no..

Khanak to herself" Gosh why does he want my no' (starts to float away to heaven..) when she wacks herself to realize oh may be he wants to give me somework later today

Shaan enters as DR. Khanak and saves the no. and gives her a call and tells him it s his no' She saves it too

Khanak : when do we have rounds in the evening

Rounds at 8.30 pm.. Come by if u r around''

Khanak replies

Sure .. Will be there'. Don't want to miss the first days arounds'.. wanted to get oriented.. Thanks '

Shaan " Its ok if u r not there' Prof wont mind on a weekend"

Khanak : No we ll( Khanak and her fellow intern ) be there..

Khanak and her friend reach the ward by 7 30 and try to get oriented with the patients and the case reports..

Khanak is leaning on the table while reading a case report.. when suddenly the air seemed to be filled with a fresh odour'of a perfume.. or may be shampoo or after shave.. whatever '.. she thought

She turned around to see Shantanu in a dark blue T and blue jean with the stethoscope on his neck ' giving her a warm smile'

Khanak to herself : He looks really good in casuals too' and he didn wear an apron now' why.. may be because it was the evening rounds'

He looks good when he smiles' may be he shud do that more often'

Khanak looked at him.. he was engrossed in a patients report'.she let a sigh and got back to her report''
