Part Twenty Two: Meray Voh
While Shaantanu was busy in discovering all sorts of new things about his very own Studio at his new workplace, Khanak was busy in finishing up all the pending chores that her husband would prevent her from doing whenever he was home with her. It was a rule that he had set on his own when she protested against his distracting tactics that kept her from household work.
"Hum dono jub ghar main saath ho toh ghar mein sirf romance, good food, aur humari baatein allowed hongi…no chores…no dishes…no work…got it Wifey!"
"Shaantanu per phir saara kaam double ho jaye ga…"
"Nahi hoga…I'll do it when you sleep aur vaise bhi hum do he toh hain iss choti si jannat mein…kaam ka time, humaray time se zayaada important nahi ho sakta…that's the rule…"
"Acha baba! App se jeetna impossible hain…" She had complied to his rule lovingly while crossing her arms around his neck and looking up in his twinkling eyes that told them her that he was the happiest whenever she was near him and closest to his heart.
Phone Rings at Shaantanu and Khanak's Apartment…
"Hello…?"
"Hello back at you Mrs. Shaantanu…! kya ho raha hain?
"Shaantanu…! app ka pehla din kaisa ja raha hain?"
"Abb tak acha tha, per abb aur bhi acha hogaya tumharai awaaz sun kar…"
"Sub kaise hain vahaan per? Meeting kaisi rahi…?"
"Meeting achi thi. MD se introduction hua phir album managing team kay saath pura contract overview kiya…meri pehli album kay do main handlers hain aik se toh mila hoon aur aik aur abhi Studio ayyi nahi hain…"
"Yeh toh bahut achi baat hain…pehlay din hi itna kuch hogaya…"
"Hmm…sub kafi efficient hain yahaan…"
"App ne lunch kiya?"
"Nahi Khanak..bhook nahi lagi…"
"Lakin kuch toh…"
"Wifey abb dinner he karay gay saath mein…vaise mera Studio bahut acha hain…yahaan per sub kuch bahut professionally set kiys hua hain…mini stage, lighting…recording room..."
"Abb jub itna talented artist sign kiya hain toh yeh sub toh accommodate karna he parta hain…akhir meray hubby dear ki bhi koi value hain…app jaantey nahi hain, he is the best!"
"Really…? Kafi garv hain app ko app ke unn per…huh?"
"Haan hain..! bahut bahut aur bahut se bhi bahut zaayada garv hain myjhay meray unn per…!"
" Toh phir kal Studio per aajaana… apnay unn ke saath date per…!"
"Studio mein?"
"Hmm…Madame meri nayi Album ki Lyrisit and duet singer app hi hain…I have already told Sharma and the rest of the team about it…"
"Lakin Shaantanu…"
"Khanak…no arguments… vaise Sir. Shekhar ki most talented student ne kahi yeh toh nahi sooch liya tha kay voh abb sirf aik house wife ban kar rahay ge…?"
"Kyun? Housewife banay mein koi problem hain kya…?"
"Nahi…lakin meri talented wife ka talent chupanay mein mujhay bahut problem hain…Aur phir meri har aik dhun ko uski perfect pehchaan sirf aik he insaan de sakta hain aur voh vohi hain jis ne mera pehla gaana likha tha…uss ganay ne mujhay meri pehchaan di hain..meri manzil abb humari hain Khanak..saath ho na tum meray?"
"Shaantanu yeh bhi koi poochnay waali baat hain…? Main hameesha app ka aur app ki dhun ka saath doongi…"
"Main jaanta tha…Thank you Khanak…"
"Arrey abb hum husband wife ho kar bhi "thank you" or "sorry" bolay gay kya?"
"Acha toh main he ho app ka "unn"…I had no idea…!"
"Jee app he hain meray "unn" or "voh"…Aur sirf meray samjhay !"
"Possessiveness? Voh bhi itni saari…"
"Hmm ghar vaapis toh aaye phir bataogi kitni saari…"
"Can't wait sweetheart!"
"Shaantanu! main rakh rahi hoon…bye!"
She hung up smiling and blushing, while he just stared into his phone for some time, thinking back to their recently ended conversation. He was confident that she would comply with his wish of joining him for his first official album from the moment Sharma and the creative team questioned about her outstanding vocals as they replayed his recorded performance from Manali during the meeting. Shaantanu had revealed her role as his lyricist and duet vocalist for his first song proudly. They had no problem with her joining in and doing a couple to duets with him to make the album even more appealing to the market and profitable for the company, Shaantanu had pitched them an ideal suggestion and they had accepted it knowing that it will only add to the prestige of Purple Aquarium and its affiliates.
…Knock..Knock…
"Yeah come on in…!" Shaantanu called out as he heard the knock on his closed Studio door for the first time.
"Hi..! Shaan…right?" She said entering the Studio and closing the door behind her. She was dressed in casual jeans and sky blue kurti with pink embellishment on the neck and sleeves. A woman in her late 20's, judging by her graceful face and the way she carried herself with elegance and poise. She was Suhaani Malhotra, Shaantanu's primary handler as well as his launch coordinator, making her senior to Sharma's position.
"Yes…Hi…app?"
"Suhaani…Suhaani Malhotra…your album's handler and later your coordinator for that grand launch…!" She smiled as they shook hands and made introductions before taking a seat across from one another at his new desk.
"Finally got to see you!...Manali ki performance dekh kar our entire team was completely taken aback…aur phir jub pata chala you'll be joining us, we got so excited…! kaisa laga yeh sub vaise?"
"Jee bahut acha…and I am equally excited if not more to be here…!"
"Good..that's good to hear…! I am also sorry for not being here earlier for the meeting and to welcome you…I was on a tour with our recently launched artist…hum kal raat ko vaapis aaye, but yahaan aakar pata chala kay meri beti ko bahut teez bukhar hova hain…I go away for a ten days and everything comes crashing down for my little angel…"
"No…it's not a problem…I understand…in fact app aggar ajj nahi bhi aati toh I would have been okay…I hope she is doing fine..?"
"Yeah..me too, medicines de kar aur sula kay yahaan aayi hoon…but i'll try and leave early today…Thanks for being so understanding, Shekhar was right about you, you are so sweet!" She smiles at him as if she already knows a lot about him.
"App Sir Shekhar ko jaanti hain…?"
"Hmm… kafi pehlay se…jub voh iss industry mein aik bahut famous artist tha shayaad ussay bhi pehlay…lakin jub se yeh sub chor kar yahaan se gaaya hain tub se pehli baar sirf tumharay talent ko promote karnay kay liye ussay phone per baat huyi…it's been ages to be honest…"
"Sir yahaan Delhi mein hua kartay thay…?"
"Shuraat toh yahi se ki thi then he moved on to Mumbai…aur phir vahaan jo kuch hua…khair choro, main bhi kahaan yeh puraani baatein lay kay behti hoon…I just wanted to welcome you here personally!" She said changing her glum tone to a vibrant one in just a few seconds.
"Thank you so much Maam…"
"Oh no! kya main itni bhuri ho gayi hoon…? Call me Suhaani please…or if you really want Suhaani Ji…but I still would like to be called Suhaani…"
"I am sorry Ma..I mean Suhaani…and you are not old…not even close!" He smiled widely complimenting her with respect.
"Nice! Day one and you are already making progress Shaan…! "Handler ko khush rakho", I think somebody slipped you our secrets!" She got up laughing lightly as he too stood up and walked with her to the door.
"Okay Bye! See you soon…and I think your lyricist and vocalist as well...Sharma told me about the new change in the lobby when I got here…"
"Jee…she'll be joining in from tomorrow…"
"Okay…Chalo phir main chalti hoon apni angel kay pass vaapis…tum dono se kal phir millo gi, eager for your new tunes!"
"Alright! I have some in the works…take care!"
"Bye!"
She left his studio and he stood there smiling in the middle of his Studio for some time and considered himself lucky to have such supportive people around for his new beginning. He was thankful for Shekhar and all that he had done for him, but at the same time he found himself wondering about the reason for Suhaani's tone and her sad eyes when she spoke of his role model earlier. He made a mental note to discuss this with Wifey when he gets back home in about 4 hours after he concludes his first day as a professional in the field of music and fame.
P.S: I would never introduce a third person to cause trouble between Shaantanu and Khanak...so no worries...Suhaani comes with a story of her own...Please comment and let me know what you like or don't like...how i am doing...THANKS!
