ok as promised the suspense will now be broken, this might be a bit boring but will try make the next one more funnier and have some more romance down the road

Part Nine

" Kya tum ne muhje yahaan leker aaye?," she exclaimed.

" Nahin Khanak. Tum yahaan khud aayi thi," he stated firmly.

" Yeh tum kya kare ho?," ( What are you saying?)

He turned solemn as he sat down across from her.

" Tum fikar mat karo. Yahaan pe koi tuhme nuksaan nahin pouch aayaga," he assured her. ( Don't worry. No one can hurt you here.)

" Main tumra vishwas kaise kar sakti hoon?," she stated.

He smiled knowlingly.

" Khanak main Suraj hoon, Sunny nahin," he stated.

Her breath caught in her chest.

" Tum zinda ho?," she exclaimed.

He shook his head.

Seeing her expression change to horrified he knew he had to explain something.

" Right now you are neither alive or dead. You are in a place called limbo," he stated.

She looked dumbfounded.

" Main yaahan kaise aagayi?" ( How did I get here?)

Suraj looked at her firmly.

" As I said earlier you have to wake up from this. I do realize we had just little time with each other," he trailed off.

" Main Shantanu se pyaar karti hoon Suraj," she declared.

" Jaanta hoon. Shantanu bhi tumhe bauth pyaar karta hai. I was just going to say that he is waiting for you to wake up. You and I were not meant to be that's why I died when I did," Suraj stated.

Suraj pointed to a white light at the other end of the train.

" That is the way I came from. It's not your time yet Khanak. Please wake up for the man to have come to love more than love itself. If you just close your eyes you will hear him call your name," he said softly.

Khanak trembled in fear. She was confused and afraid. However she wanted to be with Shantanu again. She closed her eyes and then the truth came flashing through.

She had been waiting for Shanatanu at the gate of the college. It had been her first day. So far it had not been that bad. She was nervous about whether she would be able handle the coursework.

To her dismay the street was quite crowded she decided to cross it and meet Shantanu on the other side. She carefully started to cross the street.

Suddenly a car was coming her way. She stood appalled that the driver showed so signs of stopping.

The driver must have seen her for the car suddenly slowed to a stop. She suddenly felt weak and fainted on the street in front of the now stopped car. She landed roughly on the ground.

In the hospital room her eyes shot open. She felt a hand on hers. She turned slightly to see Shantanu beside her. He was sitting in a chair by her bed with his head down.

A tear drop escaped from her eye and landed on his hand. She cried in due happiness for a few more moments more and soon he lifted his head and looked at her with happiness and relief etched on his face.

" Khanak tum jayagee!," he exclaimed.

" Main abhi doctor ko bulata hoon," he said starting to get up.

She pulled on his hand.

" First I need you to touch me again so I know this is real now," she stated.

He smiled with teary eyes and leaned down and kissed her forehead.

He promised her that he would be back soon and went to get the nurse and the doctor.

Khanak's head felt a bit heavy.

What was real and what had been a dream? She needed to ask Shantanu what parts were dream. The phone call must have been part of a dream but what about the cricket match and the testing to see if she had leukemia, had that really happened?

The doctor came in with the nurse to examine her. It all seemed to be a blur She heard the words temporary arrhythmia and was confused.

The doctor said she would need a EEG because she had been unconscious for three days. Everything else seemed fine and she would need to follow up in a few weeks or sooner if she felt ill.

Khanak decided to ask about the electrical feeling she had in her body while she was unconscious.

" Mrs. Khandlewal when someone's body goes through some kind of shock sometimes the heart rate can become irregular, we had to shock you once to help your heart pump the blood properly. Your heart rate is now normal. We just need to do a EEG to rule out any other issues," the doctor assured her.

" Shantanu mujhe aap se bauth baate karni hai," she stated as she turned to face him.

He stroked her hair and then held her hand.

" Tell me anything you want to talk about. It's been three days since I heard you speak," he said warmly.

She started to tell him everything she remembered from the past few days of which she didn't know what was real and what part was a dream.

Shantanu listened carefully he smiled when she talked about how Madhvi wanted grandchildren, and then grew concerned when she talked about the fever and testing that had to be done.

" Bukar toh hua tha. There was no bone marrow test. The doctor wanted you to finish the medication first. Then if you were not feeling well you would have gone for that test," he assured her.

" Wow I really thought that was real," she quipped.

" Khanak these hospitals have some strict rules, they would have not allowed me to be in the room during such a test. Now tell me what else did you see that you aren't sure about," he stated.

She talked about his promise about a world tour and watching Knight and Day with him.

" A trip would be wonderful Khanak. We watched Knight and Day when you were recovering from the fever. Aur kya hua," he asked.

She described how she and Khushboo had gone shopping and bumped into Rahul.

Shantanu stiffened upon hearing Rahul's name. She went on to describe how the men had a cricket match and then they had shown their wives how to play.

" Yes we did go to the club for a cricket match," he stated.

She blushed as she described the swimming pool scene.

" You didn't go swimming Khanak unless it was while I was sleeping," Shantanu quipped.

She had a puzzled look on her face before she turned worried to tell him the rest. He would be upset if she mentioned Suraj.

Suddenly a nurse came in to get her ready for the EEG. Khanak decided it was not important to tell the rest to Shantanu, she was happy to be living in reality.
