" The EEG is clear. Khanak can go home today itself if she feels well enough for it," the doctor said.

Shantanu looked at Khanak and they exchanged a look.

" Hum aaj hi ghar jayenge," Shantanu said as he reached for her hand.

" All right then, I will tell the nurse to have the discharge papers ready for Khanak to sign," the doctor stated.

After the doctor left, Khanak turned to Shantanu.

" Main itni dino ke liye behosh kyun thi," she inquired.

" You hit your head hard. You had a pretty bad concussion. Everything should be fine now. Are you sure you feel all right?," he inquired with concern.

She frowned as she ran her hand through her hair.

" Ek musbait toh hai," she muttered. ( There is one problem)

Shantanu got concerned.

" Woh kya hai?," he asked.

" How am I going to get this stuff out of her my hair?," she exclaimed.

Shantanu started to laugh.

" Don't laugh, my hair is all stuck together now!," Khanak quipped.

" I am sure Khushboo Bhabhi will know how to resolve that issue," he said assurlingly.

Khanak washed up as well as she could and got dressed in the magenta suit Shantanu had fetched from her cupboard at home. Everyone was glad to see her well again.

" Now Khanak please don't scare us all again like that. Tumare bina yeh ghar soona lagata hai," Sunil said to her with moist eyes.

Khanak hugged him and assured him she would be more careful from now on.

Akshay came to greet her and said," Khushboo has gotten you a salon appointment for tomorrow. I am sure you will need your rest," he joked.

Shantanu tried to stifle his laughs.

" Kya hua?," Khanak inquired.

Both brothers stopped laughing for a second to tell her that a day at the salon for Khushboo meant pretty much the entire day.

Khusbhoo arrived from the kitchen with some snacks and flashed them both a stern look. They stopped laughing and stood up straighter.

" Behave you two, otherwise I am sending these yummy snacks with Dharam," Khusbboo threatened.

She took Khanak aside and sat her in a chair in front of a mirror.

She took a closer look at Khanak's hair and grimaced.

" What have they done to your hair? You'll need some strong shampooing and conditioning to get rid of this glue!," Khushboo exclaimed in horror.

Madhvi was also aghast.

" Khusbhoo beta make sure Khanak has the best hair stylist tomorrow. This will not do," Madhvi stated.

Khanak looked up at Khushboo puzzled.

" Kal kahin jana hai kya?" ( Do we have to go someplace tomorrow?)

Khushboo was flustered. Why couldn't anyone in this family keep a secret?

" Nothing like that Khanak. Just that you are a Khandlewal. We all need to look according to our actual status right?"

Khanak smiled.

" Woh toh hai Bhabhi," Khanak stated.

The next day Khusbhoo said she was taking Khanak to L' Oreal for her hair appointment.

" It will be fantastic! We'll get our hair done and facials too!," Khusbhoo exclaimed.

Khanak was confused why were they going for facials and the whole works when she only needed her hair to be fixed.

" Enjoy it Khanak and you will look and feel great after it," Shantanu said.

" So I don't look beautiful now?," she inquired.

He shook his head.

" Tum hamesha sundar dekti ho. However getting freshened up every now and then is a good thing," he stated.

" All right I will go. Are you busy today in case I get done early?," she asked.

Shantanu bit his lower lip thinking what to say. He hoped Khushboo would keep Khanak out for most of the day. She needed to relax and feel better. She was planning to go back to college tomorrow.

" Nahin aaj main bauth busy hoon aur Dharam bhi Dad ke saath jaara hai. I am sure you will have a great time Khanak. Mujhe abhi late hora hai. I will call you later, love you bye!," he said as he hurried off.

( No today I am busy and Dharam is going with Dad today)

Khanak sighed. She grabbed a few things and went to go meet Khushboo Bhabhi downstairs.

The hairdresser had the same reaction as Khushboo and Madhvi. A team of experienced make up and hair stylists worked on Khanak and Khushboo.

Khushboo politely explained whatever Khanak was unaware of. Khanak could not help but laugh at wearing cucumbers on her eyes. The facial felt funny to her.

Meanwhile at the Khandlewal house, Dadi arrived.

" Maaji aap ka safar kaise tha?," Madhvi inquired. ( Mom how was your journey?)

" Woh toh aacha tha, lekin Khanak kahaan hai?"

" Khushboo ke saath parlor gayi hai. She will be so happy to see you!," Madhvi declared.

The girls finished at L' Oreal by six pm but Khushboo had to make a stop first.

She returned and handed her a package.

" What is this for Bhabhi?," she inquired.

" It's a ritual after most beauty parlor appointments, a girl needs a new outfit. I am sure you will like it. Just don't open it until we get home," Khushboo stated.

Khanak was puzzled but agreed.

When they reached home , the whole house seemed dark. Khanak walked ahead of Khushboo and put on the lights.

As soon as the lights went on, everyone screamed " Surprise!"

Khanak was stunned.

Dadi came forward and Khanak took blessings from her.

" Aap kab aayi Missed you so much Dadi!," Khanak exclaimed.

" God bless you Khanak. Kya tuhme pata hai yeh party kyun rak hi sub ne?," Dadi asked. ( Do you know why everyone has thrown this party?)

Khanak shook her head.

" Actually today marks the day Shantanu and you first entered this house after marriage one year ago. This also means it is your first anniversary," Sunil stated.

" Yeh bauth aacha surprise tha Ada, lekin Shantanu kahan hai?," Khanak inquired. ( This was a great surprise Dad, but where is Shantanu?)

" Khanak , Shanatanu will be here soon. Why don't you go get ready?," Akshay suggested.

" Theek hai Bhaiya main bus abhi aayi," Khanak said happily.
