What a landmark 250th episode it could have been.....but what it definitely remained short of being...if the 'milestone' was even remotely attained, it was due to two young actors who on the basis of their histrionics, prevented a completely hackneyed concept from going overboard!!!

THUMBS UP for

Attention to detail.....Shaan complete in sync with Dhulwadi and its ways.....the 'namastey' and the 'pehle aap' moment with the DM....the siren on the DMs car.....bore testimony to the fact!!!👍🏼

The 'milestone' moment.....Shantanu Khandelwal finally putting his demons to rest!!!! At the outset....when Mangal plays the Suraj card....Shaan remorseful but the resolve in his eyes undeterred!!! 👏 On seeing the switch board.....the 'human' yet responsible Shaan comes to the fore....in his initial dilemma, but then leads from the front, fighting his deepest fears, when he realises that Anand's life may be at stake!! 👍🏼

A special mention for KT here for the wonderful restraint shown when Mangal challenges him to switch on the main power supply.....only a deep-seated gaze by him looking Mangal in the eye!!! Compare this with the enraged KT with sheer disgust oozing out of every pore in the fight scene with Mangal, only recently!!! Apt emoting for the apt situation!!! 👏👏👏

Loved Khanak's scene with Mummy!! A thumbs-up for the 'dawai' touch!! Loved Yashu's breezy portrayal of the scene.....her inner warmth as a person being on display!!! 😊 Loved her 'pershonal' and 'injecsion'!!! 😆 Bang-on, but not forced!!!

Absolutely loved the moment when Shaan looks at Khanak the second time round after clasping her hand for their "joint" endeavour!!! Lovely moment of vindication that was for the place that Khanak has always occupied in his life 😳.....for the Shaan of yore and the Shantanu Khandelwal of today!!! 👏

THUMBS DOWN for

Completely crappy "Aaaj meri jaan bhi chali jaaye...." and "Aaj tak humne jo bhi kiya hai, saath main kiya hai" lines!!! What a royal manner to butcher the devious plans of the scheming Mangal!!😡 Would like to take this oppurtunity to state that the character who has most stood out in Dhulwadi part 2 is Mangal!!!👏👏👏 You can take a bow, Sir!!! What emoting....what dialogue delivery!!! Notice his "natak to thoda zaroori hai, ne" in the beginning and the "hai dum??!!" teasing moment with Shaan!!! Superlative is the word!!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Would have so preferred the "Main nahin jaanta ke Mangal ne kya kiya hai" line by Shaan to have concluded as "Main jaanna bhi nahin chahta!!!" That is the Shaan we know, CVs....not a Shaan mouthing some crappy nonsensical "Isise gaon walon ko wishvas" aayegi or some bakwaas like that!!! 🤢

Khanak is shown strolling down the lanes and by-lanes of Dhulwadi on her way to the factory even after knowing that Shaan's life is in danger!!!😡🤢 She is also shown putting up zilch defence when Shaan goes into bhashan mode!!! Whatever happened to the sensible, feisty Rajputani???!!!😡😡 actually, yumna and i were kind of happy that she didn't deliver a bhashan in response to shaan's. already shaan's OTT philmi jaan-giving dialogues were getting a bit much. i am glad they kept it simple and matter of fact after that.

Anyways, coming to my favorite part....RBO moment of the day!!

No brownie points whatsoever for guessing its the ShaNak "I hate tears" moment!!! So what gave it that special touch apart from the sizzling KT-Yashu chemistry classes!! 😳😆 Yashu's effortless stimulation of her tearglands....KTs brilliant improvisation of looking back at Yashu when Shaan catches Khanak crying...and the proverbial icing....the actual "I hate tears" moment!!!😳👏

In conclusion, definitely not an episode befitting a landmark number like 250, but definitely a milestone achieved in terms of characterization!!! the only consistent characterization that i have recently seen in RBO has been that of mangal's, anand's and even sarpanch ada. khanak and especially shaan's characters have been hitting extremes like a pendulum lately.

Case in point....the final ShaNak hug.....there was something different this time....the comfort....the solace in each other's arms was there like always....but there was something more, this time!!! Shaan for a split-second looks ahead and then returns into ShaNak world!!!

Definitely a man in charge....all set for a new innings!!!
