For Gaayu:
Odhanians,
We are on to CC # 4! Gosh! Well done you all👏

This thread has been created with the intention of providing a space for people to air both their appreciation and frustrations with the show, the characters, the actors/acting, writing, direction, etc.... In short, the expectation is that members would go beyond just saying 'today's episode was great' and actually spell out what they liked about the episode. And the same goes for those venting out their disappointment. Explain what disappointed you the most. We want in-depth discussions and detailed analyses.

If you are a budding critic, and have always harboured a desire to become a film/television critic and/or journalist, this space is for you! But before writing, check this article by one of my favorite critics, Baradwaj Rangan of Indian Express:

https://baradwajrangan.wordpress.com/2011/01/08/between-reviews-critical-condition/

It's not easy to be a critic and expect to be taken seriously. So please, kindly use respectful language. Instead of saying 'today's episode was complete crap', phrase it better. Just makes it easier for people to come back again and again and contribute more...No one likes negativity... we have enough of it in life!

Deeps
I really liked the scene where he asks her to fix a Chinese dinner for Sam and his friends
their argument was very real esp when she says "Chinese khaana hai to Cheen jaayiye"
He gets stumped for a second there!
Too funny!
Thats why i maintain "Its not hard for them to write simple funny lines for the two"
They just DONT BOTHER to do it!
Thats when we see too much touching, too much kissing and double innuendos with sugar

there seem to be quite a few people missing ....

smitha, jess, gaayu...a shout out for you guys...

hope we see more of you guys on CC6...

THE Only thing I lOVED LOVED LOVED in this episode was the Mangal-Khanak scene...

sorry, the shanak scene didnt do it for me,,,the wig, the sliwless were off putting and while I didn't mind the jadoo ki shakar so much,, I was quite taken aback and almost livid that everything suddenly seems to be okay between these two...I mean yes, they have reconciled,,,but subtlety jaisi cheez hoti hai....yaar subtle subtle.....even the dialogues...thoda OTT ho gaya...I mean the whole gaav wale bhi insaan hai..unhe bhi darr lagta hai...yaar just say gaanv walo ki shakaar aap ho and you have made the point...itna bada chada ke kehne ki kya zaroorat hai?? and if you wanted to extend the scene,,,instead of lines, in the beginning you should have got Shaan to change from sliwless to checked shirt..useemein thoda time bhi lagta and we could have enjoyed the scene ....dimaag istamal karo...dahi mat banao.

The whole ek tara do tara song...CVs, you guys made such a hullabullo out of it,,,itne saare interviews, PR and the TB article,,,I mean come on...it was so damn rushed,,,and frankly so all over the place, twas enjoyable, but not memorable....

NOW....the one scene I LOVED

MANGAL-KHANAK --- kuch bhi bolo yaar, when Khanak gets into her Jhansi ki Raani avtaar, she is something else..YM does this to the T just as KT pulls off lover boy to the T...but Mangal in this scene would give a KT run for his money....MAN, that guy in his evil self is something else..something else...and the dialogues....very very dramatic and thats when I realised

Fortunately or unfortunately, these dialogue writers do 'drama' very well, but lack 'subtle' completely....so the khanak mangal scene one can enjoy whereas subtle romance pe maar khate hain...thats why caricature comes instantly, but characterization with depth is lost....,,,and that is the danger with dramatic writing....AH!! HOW I wish they got the GOradiyas back....seriously!!!

I know a lot of us seem to think this episode had hints of Golden RBO or at least that it seems to be back,, frankly,,, I dont know whether I have hyped Golden so much in my head that I have almost immortalized it...but except for the khanak-mangal scene, I thought a lot was left to be desired in last night;s episode...

Congrats to the Critics on this continued successful run ..

I have heard, read many posters here saying that the golden RBO has returned and y'day's episode is the proof of it ...If it has returned and then my Kudos for the team for rising to meet the viewer's expectation 👏

But frankly, Yesaterday's episode did not appeal that much..Acting wise I have no complaint ..the characters did what was expected of them ..but it is in depth and conviction that I have slight issues ..

Shan ..has become mature overnight [too unbelievable]..when Shan handed the Samosa's over ..he was not hit by a lightening, and neither did he have any pangs ..he just strolled off but in next scene..he is found to be talking quite seriously about poverty ...what lead him to realise that people are suffering ..he never gave any prior indication of reacting to it ..

Second, Is this another windmill , where we get to see Shan all serious, sober, determined , only for all the qualities to peter out after 3 episodes and the Irresponsible Shan to rise up again ...You see the constant switch from serious to irreverent Shan is leading to the erosion of Shan's character

Next The marriage

First I thought it was the MMS issue , then the CV's clearly said that the issue is one of trust ..after few episodes it turned to responsibility .....Now All izz well in Shanak world..what I am interested to know is How and when did Shan win back Khanak's trust, she was all fire till a few episodes back..and when has Shan fulfilled his responsibility..he gave up two samosa's and that is responsibility !!! he gave a serious talk on being responsible for dhulwadi's Crisis , he spoke about reviving the factory ..and That makes him responsible...!!! Sounds very fat fetched and unbelievable.. His " Responsibility" would have been acceptable had he been shown to be succeeding in his venture ...So far he is tilting at the windmills and that is not responsibility ..

The song..if it was supposed to inspire ..Then ** Tanthya Shakes her head**..but the war of words that erupts in the middle of this discussion was authentic ..

Mangal ..Sp far as I have seen..mangal was always a bit in the shadows..more like an Iago..who instigates than confronts, even in Mumbai it was Hetal who was active partner while mangal gave her direction's .. ..had that sketch been continued then he should have been behind tha panchayat instigating the sarpanch against Shan and not confronting Shan directly and also since when has he become so brave and bold enough to say openly that he will murder someone..Mangal has been a sneaky coward ..who might kill but with stealth and not after stating so openly ..

For me an episode of contradiction's and without depth ...

@ Saaz
About the subtlety bit.....you hit the nail on its head, Matey!!!👏
This brings me to a ShaNak scene....the 'Tera Zikr hai' wala portion in the car....still vividly rember the 'coming up' portion of this timeless sequence that was aired, had 'tera zikr hai' playing in the background....added the whole ethereal feel to KT-Yashu at their sublime best!!! However, when the actual episode was aired, the BG score did not have the song playing, and definitely took away something from the subtlety of that moment!!!
Nonetheless, the car scene....definitely a ShaNak 'Hall of Fame' RBO moment, that!!! What superlative emoting by these two young actors and conveying it all through their eyes, nuanced gestures, and all.....
Added a whole new dimension to the original song.....and would have sure not just made its creator (read: Sanjay Bhansali) proud, but the kings of subtlety, IMO, Ashutosh Gowarikar, Vishal Bharadwaj, and Mani Rantam too sit up and definitely take notice of these two truly gifted talents!!!
Bring it on, CVs!!! KT-Yashu can carry off subtlety with as much aplomb as they can bring the house down with their mad antics!!!! 😆 Request you to ably support their verstality....Dhulwadi could prove to be the perfect ambience for the same!!!!
Cheers!!

@Saaz yes well about the dialogue writers....draam they do good...romantic subtlety they lack...Garodiyas were the best there...and I even mentioned this in my previous CC....that to get back the Shanak who had cute nok-jhoks ..subtle romance or talk was all done by giving hen some great lines to sprout....by yes Garodiya's...The new writers can't seemt o do that..or just haven't understoon Shanak at all...
And like you too my fav scene was Mangal Khanak...the best in the whole epi.
@Sathya lovely post dear...yes...amny thngs take away from the enjoyment of this show....the rushed feeling..its moving to fast...how, when etc are question we all have asked...when did Khanak forgive him, why all of a sudden we see the very mature Shaan, etc...when id the trust/infedility issue get resolved etc...but then these are all questions that the CV's seem to be brushing under the carpet...thinking we suffer from Amnesia and not them....
As for Mangal being sly yes he is..but in the beginning...when Suraj was alive and after his death..i as always him...himself who ...wanted Money instead of punishment...he was always taunting Khanak directly for the loss in compensation....emotionally blackmailing her when at K house, confronted Boo with the truth of her fathers involment etc..so seeing him facing Khanak or Shaan is not a suprise for me at all...
He we all know is not doing anything because he cares for the welfare of the town ppl or Suraj's death but for his own hidden agenda...that we will find out soon...
But to the rest...yes....lots is not the same and leaves us asking questions..its been 3 months of us asking the CV's a lot of them about the change in characters we loved ..but no answers at all...and now...its like just watch the show one epi a day....😆
Though we do have the questions after each epi and are left confused on my fronts...
