As we wait for this maha epi to air, in 15 min, I just wanted to share some thoughts I had. Like most people, me also felt a bit letdown by the rush to introduce new characters and the rushed writing. But anyway, I saw the 10:30 a.m repeat of last night's epi and heard 2 things come out of Sam's mouth, which actually are quite important.
Point number 1. Natasha and Shaan were really in love, at one point. Deep, sincere love from Sam's point of view at least. She felt threatened by Natasha as well, because she thought Shaan didn't need anyone with Taashu around.
I have mentioned before that we need to know more about how Shaan came to fall in love with Natasha, and why he fell out of it when he met Khanak. Sam might help us there. Because if Shaan could fall in and out of love once, what guarentee that he won't do it again?
Point number 2- Khanak is not Shaan's 'type', according to Sam. I too made fun of this but I am wrong. Don't we say 'he is not your type ya', 'she is so your type, you should meet her' with our friends? I have said that to people and have heard it being said too.... Is it possible that Sam might just be right in some sense?
I mean, what do we mean when we say 'type'? We mean, he/she is of the same socio-economic background, same wavelength in thinking, similar taste in hobbies and interests, vagera vagera.... Khanak and Shaan are from two different worlds. Am not saying they shld not be in love. Love can overcome differences but not always. What if Sam is right? What if Shaan is blinded by love for Khanak and later, he too feels the same way? He and Taashu do come from similar backgrounds, and were in love once.
I do believe that these issues are relevant for today's younger generation, esp in urban areas. Just because RBO started as the story of a widow finding love again. does not mean it should not explore how strong or weak the love is...
Wud like to know your views. Let us put Sam's clothes and her lines behind us... not her fault.
