'Shaan, please don't shout, I haven't slept at all!'

'sorry,' Shantanu whispered, 'I forgot you are extra cranky when in your zombie state.'

'Shantanu usse tang maat kar, you don't want to see her angry, and she gets angry without sleep.'

'Thanks Tashu...' said Khanak, turning to her friend with baggy eyes.

'Guys bate baad main, check in kar le?!' asked Rohan, as they proceeded to the lobby.

'oh thank god! I need a bed!' proclaimed Khanak.

'why didn't you sleep in the flight?' Shaan asked, as he followed them

'because I can't! Even sleeping pills give up on me!'

Rohan and Shaan got their respective room keys, and the four friends went to towards the elevator.

'but why didn't you sleep before?' asked Shaan as the elevator stopped on their floor.

'because I had to pack!' Khanak stopped walking as she stood in front of her room she looked at the room opposite to hers, ' wow, we are neighbors here as well...'

'janam janam ka saath... Wait did I say that right?' Shaan looked at Khanak.

'good night...' she opened her room and went inside.'

'but how can you?!'

Khanak closed the door before Shaan could finish his sentence.

'wha...now that is just rude.'

'you know Khanak right? 'asked Rohan, who had been standing behind Shaan and Khanak along with Tashu.

'ya, she is a mean girl when she is sleepy...' added Tashu.

'ya, you are right. Where is your room?'

'down the hall, we weren't going to get a room next to both of u!'

'Whatever... I am going down to the pool...you guys wan...'

'see you at dinner Shaan...' said Rohan before leaving with Tashu.

Shaan watched them walk away, and then looked at Khanak's closed door, 'fine I can holiday alone!'

He went inside his room.

Khanak woke up with a start because of the banging on the door, 'kaun gadha hai yaar!' she reluctantly got out of her cozy bed, and dragged her feet to the door, and opened it with every intention of ripping the head of the person who was knocking.

'Good afternoon sunshine!' Shaan greeted her with a big smile on his face and a tray in his hands.

'Go away Mr. cheerful!'

She left the door open and went back to her bed, and pulled on the covers.

'I am not going anywhere and I got coffee, so that you wouldn't be too hostile.' Shaan kept the tray on the bedside table.

'Shaan this is my holiday! I want to sleep, eat and do nothing!'

'well then you chose the wrong person to holiday with.'

'I can see that!'

Shaan opened the curtains and let the sunshine flood the room, then turned to Khanak, 'come on KK it is so bright and sunny and …beautiful outside!'

'KK?!' Khanak looked at him with confusion.

'I hate it!'

Shaan got inside the covers, and lay beside Khanak.

'come on Khanak, it'll be fun… and it's Goa! You don't come here to sleep you go to Kerala for that.'

'well I wanted to go there! And why don't you hang out with the lovebirds, while I catch up on my sleep.'

'Because the lovebirds are in their room, With a "do not disturb" sign hanging on the door knob. Since the last…' he checked his watch, '… three hours.'

'Three hours?! What the hell are they doing there?'

'they are playing kabaddi! What do you think they are doing?!' Shaan raised one of his eyebrows at her…

She looked at him with a confused expression, 'kabaddi…?!'

'ahem! Anyway… um…they are dating, and they are having a dating honeymoon… which means, we both are left together…'

She got out of the bed and ran to the bathroom to brush her teeth and get dressed. While Shaan took a power nap…

'firstly, I took a power nap, not a kumbkaran nap like you. Secondly, in my defense, flirting with girls for three hours can be taxing!'

Khanak wacked him.

'ouch! Anyway, let's go get something to eat…'

They both ran to the shack , but Shaan beat Khanak to it, 'that's not fair!' Khanak said in between gasps of air.

Khanak smiled, 'you are still buying the prawns!'

Khanak went and sat while Shaan went to get the menu cards.

'thanks. aur two pinapple juices table par…' Shaan turned around and collided with someone, causing his beer to slash all over the guy and on Shaan…

'Shit! I am so so sorry, I didn't… I am really sorry.'

'It's fine, it happens …' the guy kept the beer glasses, which were now almost empty, on the counter.

'dude, I am sorry, all of your beer is now on the both of us!' Shaan turned to the bartender, two beers for the man, on me.'

'why not?! Because of me you beer spilled, I should have been careful! Let me make it up to you, and buying two beers isn't really much!'

The guy smiled, 'thanks, uh..'

'Shantanu Khandelwal.' Shantanu extended his hand.

'Aditya Singhania,' he shook hands with Shaan.

'So Aditya, you here for the big new year bash too?'

'Who isn't?!'

'Come to think of it no one… with friends or alone.'

'With friends… I don't think Goa is the place to be alone.'

Shaan made his way to Khanak.

Khanak was looking at the beach, the wind blowing her hair wildly; she looked at Shaan as he sat on their table, 'kya hua? Bahut time laga.'

'kuch nahi, I accidently bumped into someone and caused his beer to fall all over the both of us…which reminds me my shirt is wet, with beer.' Shantanu, unbuttoned his blue shirt, and took it off, hanging it on the chair to dry off a bit.

Khanak looked at his chiseled chest, her lips automatically forming a shameless smile. Her eyes travelling down, at the hint of a six pack that he had, she felt her cheeks grow hot, as blood rushed to them.

God Khanak stop it! Stop staring at him he is your friend now, really good friend…

'What should we order?' Shaan was immersed in the menu.

Khanak tore her eyes away from Shaan and looked at the menu, staring at it blankly, who knew… She thought, that a corporate workaholic could have a body nothing short of Greek god! No I shouldn't think of Shaan like that, it's wrong… wait a minute why is it wrong!? She looked up, Shaan was looking at the beach.

If I would have been in a bikini sitting here then I'm sure Shaan would have ogled too! I…mean I have assets thank you very much!
