Testing Fate
( Continued from yesterday's wedding plans )
Shaan stood in front of the mirror in a wedding outfit....Part of him wanted to rip the garment to shreads, but he knew he only had himself to blame for his present situations.....His actions had set about a chain of events which had finally resulted in making a joke out of his life....Was this the punishment he deserved for unintentionally killing Suraj?....Or was it his chance to save Mr Agarwal's life by marrying Natasha?....
'What rubbish...Shaan! ' ...He berated himself. ' Tum apne aap ko itna mahan samjhte ho, aur Natasha ka kya....Does she derserve this?...Tum Khanak se pyaar karte ho...Phir ye se sub karke kya sabit hoga?...' He then remembered how Madhvi had come to his room last night and told him he had made the right decision....After all, there was so much at stake if the marriage didn't happen....It was not just about the heart-attack, this affected the whole family and the business....He tried to reason with her but, she always had an answer....In the end Shaan had made an excuse of a head-ache and she had left him alone....
When he woke, wedding preperations were in full swing....Shaan wondered how on earth they had done so much at such short notice and remembered Bhabhi asking for Khanak's help....' Khanak '.....He needed to talk to her...As if she heard what was in his heart, Khanak appeared by his side, holding the sherwani stole....He reached out to her and as he stood gazing at her, she put the cloth around his neck....
' Mein aapse ek baat kehna chati ho...Keteh hai dill ki baat, dill mein nahi rakni chahiye....Isse pehle der hojaye, hume bata dena chahye....'
' Mein jaana chahta ho ke tumhare dill mein kya hai Khanak...Mere dill ki baat toh tum oosi din jaangayi thi...'
' Agar aisi baat hai toh phir aapne Natasaha Ji se sagayi kyun ki?...Kyun unko sach nahi batadiya...'
' Kyunki mein oose hurt nahi karna chahta tha...Aur tum bhi abhi tak dosti ki baat par hi ari ho....Toh mein kya sochu?...Come on Khanak ek bar sach boldo, ya mujhe ek ishaara dedo, phir mein sub teek kardo gha...'
' Mera jawab ka, iss shaadi se kya lena dena?...Agar aap ne os din mere liye shadi ka nevata rakha tah, toh phir aap Natasha Ji se kaise shaadi kar sakte hai?....Aapne khud kha tah, ke hum dosti se bhoot aage nikal choke hai!....Baat mere jawab ki nahi hai Shantanu, baat sahi aur galat ki hai...'
' Sahi aur galat bhi aab mein nahi jaanta, sub kuch aur bhi zaidah complicated hochka hai...'
' Toh phir mere ishaare se kuch nahi hoga Shantanu....Kyunke woh to aap ko samjh hi nahi aateh,..' Khanak smiled and wrapped her arms around Shaan's neck....' Au jo pyaar meri aakho mein hai, woh bhi nahi dekhayi deta...' Shaan closed his eyes and hugged her back....All the moments spent with her flashed thought his mind....
' Shantanu?... ' At the sound of Madhvi's voice Shaan opened his eyes and realised Khanak was not there....But as always his dreams of her guided him and he knew what he had to do.....
' Ji Mom?...'
'' Beta tumne sherwani select karli?...Phir Kushbu ko Natasha ke saat co-ordinate karne mein asni hogi...' Shaan thoughts were racing....Natasha, he had to talk to her as soon as possible....

Khanak stood nervously after ringing the doorbell....A servent came and asked her who she wanted to see, she explained that she was here to see Mr Agarwal.....As he guided Khanak to the study, Natasha walked down and wondered what Khanak was doing at her house....She was distracted by her the ringing of her phone, it was Shaan....He wanted to meet Natasha....As she was asking about the time and place, Kushbu took the phone....
' Sorry Shaan aab shaadi se phele tum Natasha se nahi mill sakte, aur hamari bhoot se tayariya abhi bakhi hain, so mein phone rakti hoon...Bye...' She turned to Natasha, ' Sorry Tashu, phar yehi sahi hai...'
' It's okay Di, baad mein milna hi hai....Urmm Di, kya aapko pata hain Khanak yaha ayi hai? '
' Hain woh...Dad se milna chahti thi...Dad ne ooski haveli choorwadi nah....Toh....Thank you kehna chahti hogi....Anyway....Thank God, finally woh hamari zindagi se bahar....Oose choro, mein toodhri der ke liye ghar jarahi hoon,....Mehdhi wali aaye, toh mujhe phone kardena...And promise ke tum Shaan se nahi milo gi....'
' Promise Di...'
As Kushbu left for home Natasha's attentioned turned back to Khanak and she recollected their confrontation at the Pune hotel....
**Flash-back to Natasha following ShaNak on the business trip **
When Kushbu and Madhvi had told Natasha to fight for love, she had her doubts....But after Shaan's proposal, she had newfound hope....She was not going to let Khanak spoil it....Upon entering the hotel, she was aware that Sunil Uncle had planned this and so decided to use this to her advantage, to get the whereabout of Shaan's room....She pretented that she was checking to see if all the arrangements were done....Thus finding out that not only were they staying in a honeymoon suite, but also about the party which was planned for the next morning....
She tried to stay claim as she approached the room and knocked genlty on the door....To her surprise it was Khanak who answered...
' Aap?....Yaha?...Iss waqt?....Kya huwa?....Ghar par sub teek hai?....'
' Sub teek hai Khanak...Shaan kaha hai?...'
' Woh...woh so rahe hai....'
' Mujhe Shaan se baat karni hai....' saying this Natasha started to enter the room, but Khanak did not move aside....
' Natasha Ji woh abhi so rahe hai, aur kal meeting hain unki....Aap subha baat karlije....'
' Khanak saiyad tum kuch bhool rahi ho...'
' Nahi, mein kuch nahi bhooli...Par is waqt aap ka yaha hona teek nahi hain....'
' Enough Khanak.... ' Natasha snapped loosing her patience....' Teek hai, mut utahwo Shaan ko....Par mein tumse to sawal kar sakti hoona?..Mein tumhara lobby mein itazaar karahi hoon....'
Saying this Natasha went to the small seating area new the suite, while Khanak went to change....And upon returning to meet Natsaha, Khanak got straight to the point....
' Mein janti hoon aap kya pooch ne wali hain....' Natasha faced her silently, allowing her to continue, ' Aap ko achaa nahi laga ke mein Shatanu saat aayi hoon....Kyunki woh aap ke mungetar hai....Par aapko galat femi howi hai, aur aapko sach batana zarori hai...'
' Oh really?....Aur woh kya hai Khanak?....'
' Shantanu oos raat aapse shaadi ki baat nahi kar rahe teh...Nahi unhone aapko waha bulaya tah....Woh sub mere liye tah....Aur woh chithi bhi.....'
' Toh tum ye kehna chahti ho, ke Shaan tumse shaadi aur pyaar ki baate kar raha tah?...'
' Hain woh, galti se aapko meri chithi mill gayi, aur Shantanu ne aapko galti se ungootih pehnadi ...Yeh samjh kar ke mein hoon....Aap sahi thi Natasha Ji, Shantanu badal gaye hai... Ye woh Shatanu nahi, jis ki shaadi aap se hone wali tih....Ye woh Shantanu hai jo mere patti hai....'
' Aur kya mein pooch sakti hoon, ke tumhari chitih mujh tak kese phohchi?...'
' Mummy Ji ne mujhe aur Shantanu ko alaag karne kiliye ye sub kiya....Aur Kushbu Bhabhi bhi is bare mein jaanti hain...'
' Khanak!..Tum hadse aage jarahi ho....Mom aur Di pe itna bara ilzaam...Tumse ye umeed nahi thi....Shayad Di teek kehti thi, meine tum par bharosa kar ke galti ki.....'
' Yeh sub sach hai....Aur meine hamaesha Mummy Ji aur Bhabhi ko izzat di hai, kyunki woh bare hai, aur Shantanu ki kushi ke liye....Agar Shatanu ko in sub baatao ka pata chalega toh, unko kitna bora lage ga....'
' Phele toh Shaan ko is baat par, yakeen hi nahi hoga...'
' Shayad , aakir woh unki Maa hai....Aur mein nahi chahti ke in sub baato se unke dill ko tehse pohche...Mein batana bhi nahi chahti....Mein aapne balbooteh par Shantanu ko manalogi ....'
' Bus Khanak, bohat hogaya, ab meri bhi baat sunlo.....Agar Shaan tumse propose karne chata tah, toh oosi din mujhe jawab mill jaata...Phar aisa nahi huwa....Ghar par tumhare samne, Shaan mujhse pyaar ka vaada kyun kiya?....Jawab hai tumhare pass?...'
'Haan, unko aisa laga ke meine aap ko waha behja tah....Kyunki mein hamesha aap dono ko saat rakna chati thi....Nahi chathi ke meri waja se aap apna pyaar khode....'
' Phar aisa hi huwa na Khanak!...' Natasha burst out, losing control for a second....Then gathering herself again added, ' Nahi Khanak, mein tumhe Shaan ko mujhse alaag nahi karne doogi....Agar tumhare pyaar mein itni takat hain, toh Shaan harhaal mein tumhare saat hota....Par aisa nahi hai....Isse sabit hota hai ke Shaan tumhe sirf pasad karta hai....Shayad tori der keliye usne ise pyaar ka naam dediya....Par galati se howi, ya nahi, osni sagayi nahi tori....'
Natasha's words hand given rise to all the insecurities, which were in Khanak's mind regarding Shaan....Needless to say, she soon brushed them aside by remebering all that they had been through and what had made their love bloom...' Shantanu jaante hai ke mein unse pyaar karti hoon...'
' Dekhna yahi hai Khanak, ke kya Shaan bhi tumse pyaar karta hai?....Yah kya Shaan aur mujhe doosa moka mila hai?.....Agar tumhara pyaar sacha hai, toh, Shaan kud tumhare paas ayega....'
' Mene kuch galat nahi kiya Natasha Ji...'
Both women knew what Natasha was implying and Khanak took this as a test of her love...Natasha Ji had a point, she and Shaan could never be truely happy, till Shaan chose for himself....With not pressure or persausion from anyone, including Khanak....Natasha left soon after this and Khanak returned to the suite and took comfort in watching Shaan sleeping....She tried hard to forget what had happened just then and supress the fear that was ingulfing her heart....Natasha took a room in the hotel and rested for a few hours before leaving early in the morning to return home....
**End of flash-back - still at Agarwal House **
Natasha, went towards the study determined to find out what Khanak had come for......

( I had three scenes plannned, but this plot seems to have a life of it's own....Will post the next part tomorrow...Trying to decide the best route to take this, too many ideas in my mind at the moment😕😃....)
