As our favourite Ramayan serial completes 100 episodes, let us recapitulate various feelings it brought in our minds.😊

The serial was loved with masses so much that it was the prime serial that made NDTV Imagine as a popular channel

Sagars alone could not have made the serial as so popular. The acting of the actors is also highly important. Whenever another serial is made on a subject on which a serial has already been made, then the comparisons are inevitable. Call it nostalgia or whatever, but the older is often treated as standard and the newer is judged accordingly. The newer does not have to be equal to the older in order to be called as equal. Rather, it has to be better in order to be called as equal. If it is to be called as better, then it must be much better.😕

Initially we had various complaints like Sita always keeping mum, Shatrughna over pretentious, and some others.

But soon, Gurmit, Debina and many other actors left sweet impressons on our hearts so much so that most of us no longer feel the need to compare them with Arun Govil and Dipika. We loved the eyelocks between Ram and Sita

We love Gurmit a lot not only as his portrayal of Lord Ram but also as Gurmit as a person. Indeed, Sita di was even worried when Gurmit was looking ill in some episodes.

No matter how much effort is put in making of a serial, how well the actors perform, ultimately it is the viewers, who decide if the effort was fruitful. Often it is complained that today's generation is not interested in our rich cultural treasure. There are indeed youngesters who are not interested in our culture but there have been such people in previous generations too and not only in the current. The perception that today's youth finds mythologies boring is spreaded so much that some youngesters feel that it is hep and cool to call mythologies as boring even if some of them like mythologies. The popularity of Ramayan serial has proved that current generation does like mythologies.

We do love such serials if made nicely. We love these serials not only for seeing our favourite actors, for seeing some nice scenes or special effects, but also because we are truly interested in our cultural treasure. Tannistha, Sita di, Rupali, Shruti and many others (sorry for not writing all names) wrote excellent posts to prove👍🏼 that we are interested not only in the serial Ramayan but we value the nice teachings of the great epic Ramayan. There were posts made to show proof of Ramayan, to describe the greatness of Ram's character, to appreciate what an excellent brother Bharat was, to appreciate the sacrifice of Laxman, to appreciate the sacrifice of Urmila, whose sacrifice stands out even though mostly ignored and to describe various other teachings of Ramayan. More and more such posts are being added.
