He did difficult tapasya and God gave him so much power which made him arrogant . he misused his powers to an extent of becoming a demon. i guess whatever was shown in Ravan serial was not believable coz he was made to be a hero. If in Ramayan they show the life history of Ravan we'll sympathize with him rather than h ate him and it'll be difficult to accept that this person can do this to Sita and his rakshas vansh.

In this particular ravan, i don't like the actor playing Ravan, i don't like his nauseating laughter and his antics. I like Vibhishan & Kumbhkaran from Lanka.

This Ramayan is pretty good, except Ram is supposed to be forgiving, and Anand Sagar's Ram said that he would never forgive Ravan for kidnapping SIta. What was that about? And Sita is a bit to angry...Don't you think? Otherwise, it is good, BETTER THAN EKTA"S MAHABHARAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

True, I guess, but some scenes we should overlook, because the overall story is accurate and very good.

Yes, her name was Shanta Devi, and she was the daughter of Dasharath and Kaushalya, but was given to the King of Anga (I think) who was a friend of Dasharath and had no children of his own. I have one question though. Before Shanta Devi was born, King Dasharath had no children either, so why did he give her away? I don't understand...does anyone know?
