Yeah, that should have been more clear. Instead, it looks like on day 1, they finished the first 6 kandas and then some, and the end of the day, they stopped at a cliffhanger.
Incidentally, for this story, would the revelation that Sita got shelter w/ Valmiki clue everybody instantly on who these 2 were?
One thing I hated about the previous serial was their telling Rama at the end that they were his kids. Note that in the original, they tell him that they are Sita's kids. Now, factually, these 2 assertions may seem identical, but in the context in which it was revealed, it made a huge difference. In the previous serial, when they told Rama that they were his kids, then automatically, Rama asked them to prove it (in a rather churlish manner) because it was also incumbent on him/them to then demonstrate that they were legitimate heirs to the throne, which would be the effect of their being his sons. But had they said that they were Sita's sons, no such pressure would have been on (as was actually the case), since Sita was not queen, and therefore her sons wouldn't be automatically in line for succession unless Rama decided that he wanted them and Sita, which he did.
Whatever other shortcomings they have shown, I dearly hope that they do not show them claiming that they are Rama's sons, but instead that they are Sita's sons, and that there are no ugly follow-up questions as a result.
In the context, where he was made to look like the bad guy for abandoning Sita in the forest, it's understandable that he'd be more disturbed (w/ his own previous actions and wondering whether he did the right thing, Sita's directives notwithstanding) than sad (at Sita's plight)
I think it could be that.

Naah, that doesn't even come close to the joys one gets of being an armchair critic. How can you even think of depriving me of that pleasure? 😆😆😆 It's like separating Avadhis from Rama 😆😆😆
Besides, if I were Rama and Charul were Sita, we'd be separated - first during the Aranya and Yudhya kands, and then throughout the Uttarkand, and then I'd have to watch her go to Rasatal. You need to think of better traps to lure me into 😉😉😉 Shatrughan & Shrutakirti, maybe, so that even during the vanvas, they are not separated like, say, Lakshman and Urmila, and throw in a bit of Shatru's reign in Mathura? 😆😆😆
Actually, I think 2 projects would be in order. One would be an absolutely pristine Valmiki, where the only additions would be stuff that does not contradict the main story in any way. Another would be what Kal El suggested - have all the sources, except Valmiki, and make a real khichri of the Ramayans. Call it 'Rama katha ki khichri', w/ different parts of different stories being taken from Adhyatma, Ananda, Tulsidas, Kamban, Krittivas, et al, and just make sure that there are no contradictions in the final script. And then go to it with all its glory - Sita being born to Mandodari and then abandoned, Ravan asking for a boon that Dasharath be impotent, Bharat getting wounded in battle, Shurpanakha's son getting killed, Meghnad's severed hand writing a farewell letter, Ravan trying to rig the grahas, Karkati fleeing w/ Kumbhakarna's followers and survivors, Kaagbhushandi, Sita's hand model being taken to Rama, Hanuman's sindoor bath, Hanuman giving Sita grief over her inviting over for lunch, Rama's fight w/ Hanuman, Padma puran stories of the horse battles, K-L getting kidnapped at behest of Sita and taken to Rasatal, the sahasramukh Ravans and all the other stories that are out there.
Everybody should be happy! 😊😊😊
