Jai Siya Ram

Ram - I am proud that in this kingdom, there are brave and talented boys like Luv and Kush. I request gurudev to honour them.
Vashishth honours Luv and Kush as befitting rishi-kumars.
LK -
om sri ganeshaya riddhi siddhi sahitaya namah
om satyam shivam shivani sahitaya namah
pitri-matri namah pujya guruvar namah
raja gurujan prajaha sarve sadar namah
vinavadini sharde rakho hamara dhyan
samyak vani sur svar hamko karo pradan

Luv and Kush salute everybody present there.
Sabko vinay paranam, sabse anumati maang
Luv, Kush ne chheda saras Ram katha ka raag

LK sing -
Hum katha sunate Ram sakal gun gram ki
Hum katha sunate Ram sakal gun gram ki
Ye Ramayan hai punya katha Sri Ram ki
Ram bhadra ke sabhi vansh-dhar
Vachan parayan dharm-dhurandhar
Kahe unki katha bhumi Ayodhya dhaam ki
Yahi janm-bhumi hai purushottam gun-gram ki
Yahi janm-bhumi hai purushottam gun-gram ki
Ye Ramayan hai punya katha Sri Ram ki
Ye Ramayan hai punya katha Sri Ram ki

Chaitra shukl navami tithi aayi
Madhya divas mein Ram ko laayi
Bankar Kaushalya ke lala
Prakat hue Hari param-kripala
Ram ke sang jo bhrata aaye
Lakhan, Bharat, Shatrughn kahaye

Guru Vashishth se charon bhaayi
Alp kaal mein vidya sab paayi
Munivar Vishvamitra padhare
Maange Dashrath ke nij taare
Bole Ram-Lakhan vidhiyan hain hamare kaam ki
Hum katha sunate purushottam gun-gram ki
Ye Ramayan hai punya katha Sri Ram ki

In flashback it is shown that Ram and Lakshman go with Vishwamitra, kill monsters and reach Mithila to attend Sita's swayamvar.
Background song -
Sabke hriday adhir kar bharkar kash mein teer
Chal diye Vishwamitra sang Lakhan aur Raghuvir
Pratham hi Ram tadaka mari, ki muni ashram ki rakhvayi
Baan marich ko mara, sat yojan gira sagar para
Vyathit Ahilya ka kiya pad-raj se kalyan
Pahunche Raghuvar Janak-kul karke ganga-snan

LK continue
Siya ka bhavya swayamvar hai
Siya ka bhavya swayamvar hai
Sabki drishti mein naam Ram ka
Siya ka bhavya swayamvar hai
Janak-raj ka kathin pran
Charan rahe sunaye
Bhang kare jo Shiv dhanush
Le vahi siye ko paaye
Vishvamitra ka ingit paya
Sahaj Ram ne dhanush uthaya
Bhed kisi ko hua na gyat
Kab Shiv dhanush toda Raghunath
Nikat vriksh ke aa gayi beli
Siya Ram jaymaal ur veli

Sundar shashvat abhinav jodi
Jo upma di jaye so thodi
Kare dono dhumil kaanti koti kaam ki
Hum katha sunate purushottam gun-gram ki
Ye Ramayan hai punya katha Siya Ram ki

Background song says that the all present there become absorbed in Luv, Kush's song. Luv and Kush describe in detail how Ram, Sita and Lakshman had to go on exile and what all happened in the forest including how Ram came back to Ayodhya, was crowned as king; Sita had to go on exile
Background song
Sabko dubokar Ram ke ras mein
Luv, Kush ne kiye jan-man vash mein
Aage katha padhate jaayein
Jo kuchh ghata sunate jaayein

Kaise hui vidhina ki drishti vakra
Saphal hua Kaikeyi ka kuchakra
Ram Sita Lakhan ka van-gaman
Viyog mein Dashrath maran

Chitrakut aur Panchvati
Jahan jahan jo jo ghatna ghati
Savistar sab katha sunake
Luv, Kush ruke Ayodhya aake

Gaya vijay ka parv manaye
Ram ko Avadh naresh banaya
Niyati kaal aur praja ne milkar
Aisa jaal bichhaya
Do avibhajya aatmaon par
Samay bichhoh ka aaya

LK-

Avadh ke vasi kaise atyachari
Ram, Siya ke madhya rachi sandeh ki ek chingari
Kalanki kar di nishkalank divya naari
Chintit Siya aayi na koi aanch pati samman par
Neerav rahe Maharaj bhi Siya ke van-prasthan par
Mamtamayi mataon ke mathe par pala pad gaya
Gurudev, gurujan sab ke mukh pe jaise tala pad gaya
Siya ko Lakhan bitha ke rath mein
Chhod aaye kaanto ke path mein

I did not like change of voice in between. The songs which describe the incidents in Ram's story should have all been in one voice (that of Luv and Kush). Other songs e.g. those saying how LK's songs affected the audience could be in another voice. But in a few places, even the songs describing the past incidents were in another voice.

When Luv and Kush desribe how Sita was exiled, then all present there start crying.
LK - After that, devi Sita went to the forest. She met a divine personality there.
Vashisth - Sons Luv, Kush, will you tell who that divine personality was?
LK keep quiet.
Ram - Who was that divine personality?
LK - You will have to wait till tomorrow to hear that part.
Ram - Why?
LK - It is sunset. We will recite the rest of the story tomorrow.
Ram - I am eager to hear the story.
LK - Maharaj, we are bound by gurudev's rules. We cannot recite what happened after that. We have to go to gurukul.
Ram - You have to come tomorrow. Stay tonight in the palace. I will make arrangements for your stay.
LK - Sorry but we cannot stay in this palace. The palace where a chaste woman was insulted is not fit for our stay. But we will come tomorrow in time.

Luv and Kush are going out.
Kaushalya - You did not eat anything for the whole day. I cannot let you go without food.
LK - Forgive us Rajmata, but the palace in which a chaste woman was insulted, we cannot take food there. This is the question of sentiments.
(I did not like these dialogs because these dialogs indicate as if the palace and not the Ayodhya in general was where Sita was insulted.)
Kaushalya - Nobody's thinking is bad here. I think only good for everybody.
LK - If everybody's thinking had been pure, then today devi Sita would be in this palace. You were also here when she was insulted and was exiled to the forest. Rajmata, why did you keep quiet? Why did you watch everything as mute spectator?
(Kaushalya was not at all in favour of Sita's exile. It has been shown in the serial that Kaushalya was very hurt over Sita's exile and she always remembers Sita. Moreover, Kaushalya was not ruling over Ayodhya. Therefore, it is not right for Luv and Kush to make Kaushalya feel guilty.
Kaushalya - How do I explain you children how helpless I was? At least tell me, where my Sita is.
LK - We will tell you tomorrow.
Luv and Kush go out. Kaushalya is not able to stop her tears.

Ram - Hanuman, those boys have opened the pages of my life. It looks as if they are challenging my judgement.
Hanuman - Lord, you are all-powerful and you know everything. You are the very personification of justice. How can anybody challenge your judgement?
Ram - Hanuman, time and destiny also delivers justice and no justice can be greater than that.
Hanuman - Lord, I cannot certain things. But the questions asked by those boys have worried me.
Ram - Hanuman, make arrangements for the joruney of those boys from Ayodhya to gurukul and also arrange for their security.
Hanuman - As you wish.
Ram thinks - I am wondering whether whatever I did with Sita was justice or injustice.

A few words in the songs quoted in this update may be wrong because I could not catch those words clearly.

Very nice update Avinash. I agree that the different voice singing was little distracting at times, but the episode was nice. Was lovely to see the flashback scenes again of the swayamwar. All the matas and sisters and the brothers looked good. Gurmeet was awesome as usual. Loved all his expressions and the way he addressed the boys. The boys were adorable, I just wanted to hug them after they sang the song!😊

Agree w/ you on most of your observations:

1. Yep, the singing the Ramayan should have been done only by K-L, and the singing about the singing by the adult singers. (As a side-note, notice that they didn't show the old Shrutakirti 😆)

2. On Kaushalya, I agree w/ you that it wasn't fair to blame her for not opposing Rama. However, one thing they could have asked her, if the script-writers wanted to follow this story line, is that if she didn't agree w/ him, why didn't she abandon Rama and demand to be sent away w/ Sita. Unlike Lakshman and others who were duty bound to follow Rama, this was not true of the rajmatas, and what's more, they had no duties to Ayodhya, only to their own family. In fact, since we're no longer talking Valmiki, there are various versions that have it that after Rama's rajyabhishek, the rajmatas took vanvas. So if the script-writers wanted, they could have had K-L ask her why she didn't follow Sita to the forest, and help take care of her there.

3. On the palace being unsuitable for eating and sleeping since Sita was removed from there, a bigger problem w/ this is that later, the situation is exacerbated, not mitigated - not only is Sita's honor not restored, but she is humiliated and asked for her vow, which is what forces her to end it all. So after that event, it would be even more unjustified for K-L to live in the palace or succeed Rama - in fact, using the reasoning here, they'd have been justified in disowning him. Is that what they are planning to show? Or are they instead going to use the Ananda Ramayan, and have Bhoomi Devi return Sita to Rama and be restored to the throne of Ayodhya?

Another question - K-L took several days to read the various kandas - it's not like in day 1, they ended up at the point of Sita's exile. So if they had sung for several days, how did Rama not give the invitation to stay over until then? 🤔
P.S. Note that we are discussing a purely fictional account here. None of this was a problem in the original Valmiki, where they ate the same fruits given to all the rishis, where they stayed in a leaf hut, where they never met Kaushalya or anyone until after they were united w/ the family, and since this all happened at the yagna which was going on in Naimisharanya, there was no question of staying or not staying at the palace.

Two trivial points:

1. I didn't like UMS standing throughout the presentations - they were rajranis after all, not some dasis 🤔

2. I also didn't like how Luv got precedence over Kush in the introductions, since the latter was older

Precap: K-L are back home w/ Sita, and tell her that they not only met Rama, but their dadi as well. Sita asks them why didn't they stay over at the palace. Kush asks her how could they have stayed at the place where she was insulted. Sita hugs them.

Thanks for the update Akhl....

I was disappointed with the episode. Even with all the inaccuracies, it could have been better. For example, the Kaushalya incident could have been left out and Luv Kush's comments about not staying in the palace are controversial unless they plan to show Ananda Ramayana ending, like Chandraketu said.
The song was good, and the kids' voices were really sweet, but it did not invoke the same feelings in me as the previous Luv Kush song did. I don't know why. Maybe it's because the same exact tune was used (once again, as if the script writer or Anand Sagar did not know how to create tunes by themselves. They always have to rely on and copy off of Ramanad Sagar🤔), or maybe because the words from the older song were more powerful. It also could be because I heard the older Luv Kush song too many times to count and I'm simply tired of the tune.😆
I have a question. Did it mention in the song that some days and nights passed while Luv Kush were singing? I remember that in the previous serial, the narrator's voice proclaimed that a few days and nights passed as Luv Kush stole their audience's hearts. Maybe if the narrator said the same thing here, it'd make sense why they did not show a few days passing.
Either way, I just hope that the story of Sita's suffering is tuned differently and the words vary a lot from the previous song's words. There are lots of ways to sing about Sita Mata's suffering and her story in different words and tunes. The Sagars could invoke the same feeling they did in the previous version by making the song differently, because we all want something different that makes us weep. Not something that reminds us constantly that this is a copycat from the previous Ramayan.
I like Luv's acting more than Kush's. I understand that they are only kids, but Luv's seemed more natural and from the heart, while the kid who plays Kush seemed to overdo the feelings and hand movements in the song. He just has to relax and act a bit more normal. That's all. But Gurmeet's acting was outstanding as usual and I really liked the expression on the Rajmatas' faces, especialy Rajni Chandra. It seemed as if she was showing the real Kaushalya's feelings in her expressions. I too wish UMS were given seats instead of standing behind their mothers-in-law, but I suppose it's not that big of a deal. Out of Lalit, Vijay, and Ankit, I felt Lalit showed the most feeling during the song. He seemed genuinely sad, but Ankit's expressions seemed to be lacking today. Maybe he was tired during the shooting since he usually does better, but he seeemd disturbed by the song, not sad. Vijay's expressions were mediocre. Yes, he was "crying", but they seemed forced, not genuine.
Vikram Sharma's expressions, like Gurmeet's, were once again outstanding, and Sugreev and Vibhishna acted well too. The Ayodhya praja didn't look guilty when Luv Kush sang about them. They looked as if they could care less.🤔 Maybe it was the actors' faults of maybe they were told to look like that as a foreshadowing of Sita's oath, but that's how it seemed to me.

Thanks for the precap.
In the older Ramayan, Kush often got precedence over Luv. Yes, he was older, but I haven't seen a Ramayan movie/serial to this day with both of them being shown equal. In some Kush is given precendence, while in others Luv is.
You know, since you want a 100% authentic Valmiki Ramayan, why don't you direct one for us?😊 I'm sure you're more than capable of writing a good script and with some help from others, it could actually be an interesting project.
In your Ramayan, Dhanyamalini can be given the role of Sita and maybe you yourself could do Ram.😉

Wonderful update akhl. Thank for all the lyrics.

Performance in general was good - especially Ram, Bharat and Shathrugan's expressions were excellent.

One thing I don't understand is the need for suspense. Now Maharaj Ram has to wait for the next day to hear the rest. Does any version of Ramayan mention this?
