Jai Sri Ram
It is announced that two rishi-kumars will sing Ram's story and the whole Ayodhya is invited.

In Valmiki ashram, Sita is shown thinking over her life and particularly about Luv and Kush.
Vidhna teri niti kisi ki samajh na aaye ri
Bhavana aur kartavya mein kyun tu dvandva karaye ri
Jab jise chahe apne teri teer ka lakshya banaye ri
Vidhna teri niti kisi ki samajh na aaye ri
Tu aage main pichhe pichhe is jivan ki har sidhi par
Maine sah li waar tere, ab kripa-drishti rakh is pidhi par
Prashn chinh lagwa mat dena, tu Raghukul ke kul-dipon par
Sab prashnon ka sabko uttar diya na jaye ri
Jab jise chahe apne teri teer ka lakshya banaye ri
Vidhna teri rit kisi ki samajh na aaye ri

Valmiki - What happened? You look worried.
Sita - Yes, gurudev. There is no news about Luv and Kush. Please do something.
Valmiki - Ok, I will tell you where they are.
The clairvoyant Valmiki closes his eyes for some time.
Valmiki - Daughter, you need not worry. They are fine. They are getting lots of respect there. On hearing Ram's story from them, the entire Ayodhya has become emotional and cannot stop tears. People find the voice of Luv and Kush as divine.

Sita - Did they go to the palace?
Valmiki - They not only went to the palace but also met their father.
Sita - Does it mean?
(It seems Sita wanted to ask if Ram came to know that Luv and Kush were his sons.)
Valmiki - No, the time for that has not yet arrived. Tomorrow, Luv and Kush will sing Sri Ram's story in the palace. All including Ayodhya's king Sri Ram will be there.
Sita prays - God, they are small. Give them strength.
Valmiki - That is how it will happen. They will make sure that you get your honour back. Once again, you will reign in the hearts of the people of Ayodhya and you will become Ayodhya's queen.
(Ayodhya's queen? But that does not happen. Which version are Sagars planning to show?😕 Or should I not take this statement of Valmiki as literally?)
Sita - No, gurudev. I do not want the palace. For me there is heaven at my swami's feet.
Valmiki thinks - Lord, give me strength that I can change the destiny and make Ram and Sita meet.

In Ayodhya
Kush - What are you thinking, Luv?
Luv - The pain which was seen in Ma's eyes, I saw the same in Pitaji's eyes.
Kush - Yes Luv, Pitaji is sad the way Ma is sad.

Kaushalya, Kaikeyi and Sumitra come just outside the room where Luv and Kush are staying.
Kaushalya calls - Rishikumar
Luv and Kush open the door.
LK - Pranam to all of you from Maharshi Valmiki disciples Luv and Kush.
Kaushalya - May you live long. We had heard a lot about you. We were curious to meet you.
LK - Even we were curious to meet Ayodhya's rajmata. Let us know what is the order for us.
Kaushalya - See how tasty food we have brought for you.
Kush - Forgive us, but we cannot take this royal food.
Kaushalya - What are you saying?
Luv, Kush - We are rishi-kumars. We cannot take royal food.
Kaushalya - But why?
Luv, Kush - Gurudev and our mother have not given the permission for this.
(But Valmiki and Sita did not explicitly tell Luv and Kush not to accept any food. So Luv and Kush could have taken at least some amout of food. For example, they could have taken fruits because rishi-kumars do eat fruits.)
Kaushalya - Who is your mother and what is her name?
Luv and Kush are wondering what to answer.
Kaushalya - You didn't tell your mother's name.
Kush - Vandevi
Kaushalya - Vandevi?
Luv - Didn't you like this name?
Kaushalya - Nothing like that. The name is very good.
Kush - Were you thinking some other name for our mother?
Kaushalya - No. We heard such a name for the first time. People are saying that you have sung even those things in Ram's story, which others do not know.
Kaikeyi - How do you know so much about Ram and Sita?
Kush - We know not only about Ram and Sita but even about you three.
Sumitra - Then tell us.
Luv - Forgive us but you will have to wait till tomorrow morning. Tomorrow, we will recite the story in front of Ayodhyapati Sri Ram.

Ram talks to Sita's statue.
Ram - Sita, tomorrow those two boys will recite our story to me. On seeing them I feel as if they are my own whom I am meeting after so many years. Do not know how I will feel on hearing my own story. I feel happy that I will meet them and it gives me even more happiness that I will be able to hear about you. May they know everything about you - where you are, how you are, if they know anything about you.
Ram gets emotional.
Kaushalya comes there.
Kaushalya - Ram, nothing is hidden from them. They know everything - about you, about Sita, about Ayodhya.
Ram - Ma, how do you know this?
Kaushalya - I myself met them.
Ram - Did they tell you anything?
Kaushalya - No, Ram. But on seeing them I felt as if I saw two Rams of childhood days. I felt as if they were parts of my heart.
Ram - Ma, didn't they say anything about their parents?
Kaushalya - They said that they are the children of a sadhvi named Vandevi and they have been brought up in Maharshi Valmiki's ashram. You will hear the rest from them tomorrow.
Ram - It is difficult to wait till tomorrow.
Kaushalya - You will have to wait, Ram because nothing happens before time. It is too late now. You should take rest.

In the morning, Sumant brings Luv and Kush to the darbar.
Kush - Pranam to Ayodhyapati Sri Ram, guru Vashishth and all Ayodhyavasis from Maharshi Valmiki's disciples Luv and Kush.
(I was thinking they they did not take Vishwamitra's name explicitly.😉)
Luv and Kush bow their heads. Vashishth and Vishwamitra bless them.
Vashishth - You two talented rishi-kumars are welcome in Ayodhya. We have heard a lot about you singing Ram's story. People say that mother Saraswati resides on your tongues. And there is magic in your voice. When you two brothers sing Ram's story, then all become emotional. We all wish to hear the story.
Luv - It is our good fortune that Ayodhyavasis liked the song. It is their greatness.
Kush - If you all permit, then we will take permission from Ayodhyapati Sri Ram and start singing the song. Maharaj, what is the order for us?

It is announced that the 2 rishi kumars will sing, and whole of Ayodhya is invited.

How does whole of Ayodhya fit into Rama's court? In Valmiki, this happened in the open, at Naimisharanya, not at Ayodhya, and not at the palace. But here, it happens in Ayodhya, and that too, in Rama's court. How does he fit the entire population there? 😕😕😕

Sita's statement - that she doesn't want to be Ayodhya's queen - doesn't make sense, and is more of a Sagaresque script to project their sadistic instincts onto Sita, making her more of a masochist (something the earlier serial was guilty of as well). Once Sita regains Rama's company, she'd automatically be queen of Ayodhya - unless she wants to do that in the afterlife, or unless she wants Rama to abdicate so that she can be w/ him.

On Kaushalya's offerings, in the original, the only things K-L were explicitly forbidden from taking was the payment for their singing. As far as food went, they were told to eat what the rishis were given, which included the fruits and berries. Of course, here, they are changing it to mean anything they feel like.

I think under the circumstances, they would have done well to have made this meeting between them on the night between Rama ordering Sita be presented to take the oath, and Sita taking the oath. That would have been a good occasion to bond

Sita's statement - that she doesn't want to be Ayodhya's queen - doesn't make sense, and is more of a Sagaresque script to project their sadistic instincts onto Sita, making her more of a masochist (something the earlier serial was guilty of as well). Sita was not a masochist in the previous Ramayan. She never said she did not want to be queen anymore. When Valmiki told her that Ram wanted her to make one final vow, she said that she'd make a vow so convincing that people would never doubt her chastity again. But when came to the court, she heard Valmiki proclaim to Ram that Sita was the purest of women. Sita thought Valmiki's proclamation would convince the praja of Ayodhya but it did not so Ram still wanted her to do the vow. If you see Sitaji's expression, she was angry, (not at Ram but the Ayodhyavasis), dejected, and decided that nothing would convince the Ayodhyavasis but if she called upon Mother Earth. Yes, it was sort of pre-planned, but if Valmiki's proclamation had convinced the Ayodhyavasis, Sita was certainly ready to become Queen of Ayodhya once again. Unlike in today's episode, the Sita of the previous Ramayan never said she did not want to be queen but wanted to become Ram's wife. That was a totally controversial sentence because if she wanted to be with Ramji, she'd have to be queen.😕 Once Sita regains Rama's company, she'd automatically be queen of Ayodhya - unless she wants to do that in the afterlife, or unless she wants Rama to abdicate so that she can be w/ him.

Sita was very much a masochist in the previous serial - like when she swore in front of the statues of the ancestors that she would never defile Ayodhya's throne again (incidentally, that did not increase my bhakti for her, if that was Sagar's intent), or when she told Gautami (Valmiki's wife) not to address her as Maharani after it's all in the open, or when she told Rama upon her leaving him for the forest that if they were focussing on the justice, they'd be seen as being attached to the luxuries of royalty. In fact, the masochism was very strongly there in Janak, when he told Rama that Sita was not alone and helpless, b'cos she had her dharm w/ her (what sort of an assinine statement was that? If somebody is walking around pregnant and barefoot in the jungle homeless and helpless, how does the fact that they may be pure saints help nurture them? That was unadulterated maso-sadism on the part of those scriptwriters)

Sorry, both the serials - not just this one - had very serious shortcomings in this department of being particularly sadistic.

Maybe for you, but my outlook on the previous serial is totally different. I loved Sitaji's role in the older serial and felt there were so many morals in it. Anyway, different people have different opinions, so leave it.
And about Janak's comment: it showed that if one is always pure in mind and soul, no harm can befall them. How is that statement sadism? If one is as pure as Sitaji, they can never be harmed by anything and they will always be protected by their chastity.
