They showed Vashishtha in a river turning into blood. I sure hope they're not about to show Shambhuka now.

Shatrughan and some of his sena face Lavanasur but the way back to the palace is not cut off by the sena. Without any of Shatrughan's men covering the palace's main entrance Lavanasur could have easily run back into the palace and then got his trisul. Back war strategy on the part of the Sagars!

In the original Valmiki, Shatrughan is waiting for Lavanasur when Lavanasur comes back from hunting. Shatrughan waits in front of the main entrance to the palace effectively cutting off Lavanasur's entry into the palace.

Why do the Sagars feel the need to change everything and give their own version everytime?

Great observations. In the original, Shatrughan cuts off Lavanasura's path home, and tells him that he's not going to let him go. In this episode, as you so astutely observed, nothing is done about his retreat.

Also, there was a great battle between the 2, and Shatrughan was even knocked unconscious for a while. In this case, it lasted only 2 arrows. I normally desist from comparisons with the previous serial, but at least there, they showed it more credible, although they too got it wrong about Shatrughan killing Lavanasura during the battle, as opposed to while he was eating.

Oh, no! That is one weird story (along with the dog story) that seem so out of place in Ramayan. Every time I read it I feel like the 2 stories were attached to Ramayan for no reason, like a patch-up job. I thought the Sagars would show some sense/discretion and not show the Sambuka episode at all. After seeing the nightmare Luv-Kush stories I have lost all hope of any sense from the Sagars. 😆

They can't make Shatrughan stay in Madhupuri for 12 years in this serial though, because Luv Kush are already 12 and the Ashvamedh Yagna will have to happen soon. So I'm thinking that in this serial, they're going to show Shatrughan in Madhupuri for a few months (in which the Ram Hanuman yudh happens and possibly the Shambhuka incident) and then return to Ayodhya for the Ashvamedh Yagna, possibly fight his nephews, etc.

No, they can show him staying in Madhupuri permanently along with Shrutkirti and the kids because he only comes to visit Ramji and take part in the Asvamedha yagna. He never comes back to Ayodhya permanently after the Lavanasur war. It is only in the end that he joins Ramji during the Jal Samadhi. of course, my write-up is from Valimiki.

But then Vashishta just says he fears there is going to be a war in Ayodhya, may be he's hinting at Ram-Hanuman war. I dont know though. But is the river turning into blood linked with Shambuka story?

I too think this is going to be Sagar's storyline......

I'll comment only on Shatrughan's rajyabhishek, since that was the only authentic part of the Ramayan that they showed today. From part II onwards, they were back to showing fiction (this time, the fiction included Rama, so those who simply want their Gurmeet eye-candy, don't worry - he's very much there) In Valmiki's ashram, everybody was overjoyed at Shatrughan's victory, and Sita was overjoyed to hear that he was now king (this moment was sweet, suspending for the moment one's disbelief at Luv, who was actually a newborn at the time, giving her this news)

So today, they started w/ the celebrations in Ayodhya, w/ Kaushalya distributing gifts, Rama, Lakshman and Hanuman observing the celebrations, and Urmila and Shrutakirti decorating the floor. The last is what got me - WTF is Shrutakirti doing here 😡😡😡- isn't she supposed to be with her husband being coronated? Note that some days would have passed before Shatrughan was crowned - wouldn't that have been enough time for him to get his family w/ him? Or is it a new parampara of the Ananda (Sagar) Ramayan that in Ramarajya, wives of Kings don't become queens. I understand that with Sita, but Shrutakirti?😲😲😲

Anyway, fiction time is back, so once the Hanuman-Rama confrontation is over, we can re-visit the story in this forum, depending on what they choose to show. At any rate, what they showed today was not consistent with the story of Vishwamitra's umbrage at Raja Shakunta - they simply showed people worry at what Vishwamitra's reaction would be on hearing about Sita's exile. Oh, and other major boo boo - they kept referring to Vishwamitra as 'Rajarshi', when he was actually a Brahmarshi.

Oh, and as usual, Bharat, Mandavi & Kaikeyi are MIA. Won't complain - maybe the Sagars have given them their own vanvas. 😈I wonder, when Rama's jaalsamadhi time comes, will they simply show him going alone, or just with Shatrughan, or will they bring back Bharat? Who knows!

Sulk time🤢

Thanks for the short update, bhaiya
I haven't watched the epi yet, jus watched yest epi and was disappointed that Shatru-Lavanasur duel didn't get the justice it needed. There was no indication of Shatur's bravery; Two arrows shot and thats it?! his opponent gone fooli
and what Shrutkirti was in Ayodhya 😲 what was she doing there?? Now do they wanna show that she'll stay there only even till yajna?
I agree that all other bros have a 'vanvas' thrust on them *sigh*

Chandra, I am trying to find the source for the Ram-Hanuman yudh but I am coming up short. The only thing I found was a movie by the name "Ram-Hanuman Yudh" taken in 1975 or something like that.
