That's a very insightful take on all this. I wonder whether anybody in the past saw it that way as a model of how single parents could take care of kids.

But was Sita the first single parent in Hindu mythology? Also, the Ramayan says nothing about what sort of a father Rama was - surely, getting his sons and nephews their own kingdoms wasn't the be all and end all of parenting, was it? Methinks that due to rajdharm, that's one attribute of Rama that ended up non-existant.

I saw your congo message in the other thread, and responded there, but here it is again - it reminds me of the guy who gave up eating anything but cereal in order to pile 1000 boxes to win a grand prize from the cereal maker, and he got the prize, the prize being a lifetime supply of that same cereal🤣 Since I don't delete mails, guess I could live with 1000 messages: incidentally, is it Inbox+Outbox, or just one or the other?

I was actually hoping for a paid vacation at Maui, complete with pina colada, scuba trips offshore, and some chopper rides. Rajnish, as one of the admins, if you can get i-f to pay for that for all new promotions, there'd be one heck of a party 😆😆😆

P.S. So far, not one person has voted for Ravan, the antagonist of the whole epic, despite the fact that people can vote any number of times - Chatter, looks like we in the rakshasha fan club have destroyed much of the animousity that existed towards him😆😆

Looks like since I last posted, Ravan has picked up 5 votes (reminder: need to vote and give the Avadis again their 75% majority!) I just had to include him, since he's the main antagonist of the story. Don't worry - hell would have frozen over before I put either Indrajit or KK chachu there (I'm on record as objecting to the burning of Indrajit & Kumbhakarna effigies during Dusherra: only Ravan's should be burnt.) In fact, they'd not even have been next in the list had I had more, Durvasa and Ka'al would have been the next target of my odium for giving Lakshman such a thankless end.😡😡😡 In fact, I wish I had included them.

Prizes - You are right - as the champion poster, you should get the top prize. Maybe your trip could be to the Hawaii big island, snorkeling, diving or swimming with dolphins or green turtles. Maybe you could do that when you attain the 10000 post mark.😆😆😆

Other posters could get smaller islands depending on the milestone reached - if rockerz Maui, if dazzlers Kauai, goldies Lanai, senior members Oahu, and so on.

Hey, it's b'cos of the recession that I'm suggesting all this. If we all had good jobs and weren't worried, wouldn't be suggesting this. 😆 Besides, with spending like this, the economy will be jump-started. 😆
