Vibs: The worship of Ganesha is not mentioned explicitly in the main frame of Ramayana of Valmiki but Valmiki does mention "Vinayaka" in the phala-shruti of listening Ramayana in the Pattabhisheka sarga.

Oh ok, so Vinayaka finds place in phala-shruthi. Also, I think in the chapter where RLS meet Agastya, it is said there were many deities that Sage Agastya worshipped, and Skanda finds place in the list. But it was surprising to see Shiva & Vishnu not in the list....

I should read more carefully. I am missing too many things 😭

Thanks for the information of Lord Ganesha mentioned in the phala stuti.

I think that Sage Aghasthya worshiping Lord Skanda might be understandable. Sage Aghasthya was considered to be the father of the Tamil Language. It was said that Lord Shiva himself taught the language to Maharishi Aghasthya. Ravan also mentions this when he salutes Sage Aghasthya before the veena contest between the two. Lord Skanda (or Lord Muruga as he is commonly known in South India) is considered to be the chief deity of all three forms of Tamil literature. (Muthamizhukkum Thalaivan Murugaperuman - Lord Muruga is the Lord of all three forms of Tamil Literature.)

Also, I think that Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu were worshiped by all (people and sages) and the other deities that Sage Aghasthya worshiped may have been mentioned when Ram, Sita and Lakshman meet the sage.

Vibhishana,
Regarding worship of Muruga (KArtikkeya) during Ramayana period:
YOu may be aware that there is a tiru-sthalam (Sacred abode) for Muruga at a place called Kadirkamam in Ceylon. Legend has it that, Hanuman, on his way back from Lanka after discovering MAta SIta, offered Worship at this temple. KArtikkeya is considerd as Deva- Senapati, and HAnuman is supposed to have prayed for Lord Ram's success here.

IN Fact in Ram Charit manas , Agastya is depicted as narrating Ramyan to LOrd Shiva and Sati. When at the end of the narration, Shiva asks Khumbaj Rishi to name a fee for his services, Agastya RIshi asks for nothing more than undying Devotion towards LOrd Ram.

I have heard about Kardikamam. But I was totally confused by its legends. So far, I haven't heard that Hanuman stopped and prayed there for Lord Ram's success on Kardikamam.

The legends I have read say that Lord Skanda came further down South to destroy the demon Sura and then after the killing of the demon he created the pond (Pushkarni) he abides on top of a hill there with his two spouses Devasena (or Devayani) and Valli.

According to the Skanda Purana, Lord Skanda split the demon Sura who had assumed the form of a tree into two parts and the two parts became a peacock and a cock (this bird was later turned into a flag and taken up by Lord Skanda and the peacock became his vahana). After this incident, Lord Skanda instructed Varuna Dev to destroy Veeramahendrapuri - the place Surapadma ruled. Besides, it was in Pazhamudhirchozhai that he stays (or rests) with his two lovely wives.

I am confused with the legends of Kardikamam. If anyone can enlighten me about this, please do. 😳

This is new to me. I never knew about this. I'll check out the translations of Ram Charit Manas when I get time.

23rd March episode

maharni sunaina(sitajis mother) reply tht a king shd b like lord shiva ,lord shiva is the king of the entire world but he never sits on any throne, never wear any luxury costumes ,he never follows the luxury life style of a king just for the sake of his praja & his ppl ,so that every body cud meet lord shiva at any time & lord shiva cud always b available for his ppl at any hr of need ,for a king his life start with his praja & his life also ends with his praja !!!

sitaji made up her mind to take the final decesion

sunainaji before leaving ask mandavi, urmila, shrut kirti to take special care of sitaji as sitaji was sad

urmila promised sunainajii tht they all will take care of sitaji

urmila goes to sitajis room but she was stopped by the lady guards at sitajis room as sitaji ordered her guards not to allow any one

urmila was sad & she feels tht sitaji was asking her to leave her(sitaji) on her own fate

urmila tells all this to lakshman, urmila also says tht Ramji is also sad ,there is def. wrong with Ram-Sitaji

Ramji also wakes up & asks sitaji what she is saying ?

sitaji asks Ramji tht why he did not tell her abt the fishy talks going among the ayodhya praja for her

why he hesitated in telling her tht she (sitaji) was the reason for his agony & pain

sitaji says i will do tyaag & i will leave ayodhya

Ramji says---------don't even listen to those useless & stupid talks of ayodhya ppl ,they all r blabbing

sitaji says tht one man cud b wrong not the entire praja & i don't want any scar on the image of raghukul

we hv to do tyaag swami !!!

Ramji says sitaji plz!!! don't ever think to leave me

Thanks for the update sita11. I haven't watched the episode yet. Waiting to see it.

One doubt here . . .

The name of Sita Devi's mother is Sunaina, isn't it? Who is Sulochana?

Chatter ji, any ideas? 😉
