The Promo of the next episode:

In Lord Vishnu's court, Jay and Vijay were seated (or were knealing , I'm not sure) on one side and the four sons of Brahma on the other side. Jay and Vijay ask forgiveness from Lord Vishnu and the four saints. In the last scene, it was shown that the saints were blessing Jay and Vijay.

The episode was good. Everyone had done a real good job again. But now, I have many doubts . . .

I agree with Chandra ji. It was only once that Maharaj Dasrath took Maharani Kaikayi with him to the war - it was a war with an asura named Shambar. Jay and Vijay were given the two options and they chose 3 births as enemies to return to Vaikundha sooner. And also, the curse was to be born in the Earth and not specified as asuras though some versions say that they were cursed to be born as demons.

Also, if Kaikayi had met Ravan before, there must have been some mention of it in the episode where the 3 mothers and Urmila questioned Bharat about Ram, Lakshman and Sita and got to know what happened. I think that Kaikayi would have atleast mentioned to Kaushalya or Sumitra about Ravan when the three of them were discussing the fate of Ram, Lakshman and Sita.

And the story of the war between Maharaj Dasrath and Ravan - there are quite a number of versions. All of these version ends with Ravan being the reason (whether he cursed Dasrath or did severe penance and obtained a boon that Dasrath should not be able to sire sons of his own according to one of the versions) for Dasrath not having any sons. I think these stories come from Raghvamsa (by Kalidasa), but again, I'm not sure.

And also, I do not know the origin of the story of Anaranya and Ravan. I had just read that a king of the Ishvaku clan cursed Ravan that one of the Ishvaku clan will kill him. But I didn't know anythign more till I saw the episode. Where does this story come from?

I agree di....Kaikey did look pretty in that crown and as a warrior!!!! Loved her expressions...idk if ne1 noticed when she tells Ravan that King Dhasharat will not be the reason for his death...but that one of his sons will be the reason of Ravans death...and she states in that it will be Ayodhya Kumar (Prince)...which is y when Ramji was about to become King, thats when Kaikey gave the wish for Ramji to be sent off to Vanvas for 14 years...not as King, but as a Prince!!!!!!!! Does that make sense what i'm saying????

And this siggie is super beautiful......i love the flowers u chose and the colors look so so so so so so so pretty!!!!!!

hey u know what i also thought it was vinod kapoor but my eyes were decieveing me i thought

it was good episode and i dint know so many stories before

sagars r readin for sure

ravan going out with bang and leaving his mark with us

or rather akhilendra did super job now as ravan his expressions r worth the watch

gurmeet as vishnu looked really good

You're right - and in the battle with Shambar, Kaikeyi was Dasharath's charioteer, and there, she took him out of the field after he was wounded. And he was not wounded battling Ravan. And yes, all the stories where Dasharath does fight Ravan end in a stalemate, do not involve Kaikeyi and involve Ravan obtaining a boon that no son be born off his loins.

For the story of Aranya, see below your cited post - it's right from Valmiki and quite genuine.

Kanda 7, Sarg 19 - Raavan Bags Another Shaap

After winning Marut, Raavan started winning other kings. Even the great kings had to accept had to accept defeat from him. Because of the Vardaan, Raavan used to say to kings - "Either accept the defeat or fight with me." Dushyant, Surath, Gaadhi, Gayaa, Pururavaa etc mighty and intelligent kings had to accept the defeat considering Raavan very mighty because of Vardaan.

After that Raavan came to Ayodhyaa. At that time there was the rule of a very mighty king like Purandar (another name of Indra) named Anranya. Raavan said the same thing to him also. Anranya got very angry to hear that, he said - "O evil soul, I will see you in the battlefield." Anranya took 10,000 elephants,100,000 horses and thousands of chariots and innumerable soldiers and got ready to fight. A fierce fight took place between Anrany's army and Raakshas. But Hey Raam, Raajaa Anranya's army started disappearing very soon. Seeing his army destroying, Anranya himself came to fight with Raavan. Maareech, Prahast etc ran away from the battlefield seeing the skilful warfare of Anranya.

Anranya shot 800 arrows at Raavan, but Raavan was unhurt. Then Raavan slapped the king on his head. The king shook and fell down. Raavan said - "You have invited your death by not saying "I am defeated". You must have been busy in enjoying pleasures that is why you did not hear about my powers which are already well-known in Trilok. If you had heard about it, you could not have dared to fight with me."

Anranya said - "O boasting evil Raavan, I am losing my life, what can I do at this time? I am not defeated, nor I have run away from the battlefield. But my Kaal (death) has come now that is why I am leaving my body. I have not defamed Ikshwaaku Vansh that is why I am going satisfied. But I give you Shaap that Raam will be born to Dashrath in Ikshwaaku Vansh to kill you. If I have given any charity, done any Yagya, Tapasyaa and good Karm then my words will be true." So Hey Raam, Anranya left the body after giving Shaap to Raavan."

Thank you Chandra ji. The translation (of Valmiki Ramayan) I read earlier did not have the Uttar Kand at all and hence all these doubts . . . Thank you so much. I must get my hands on a complete version of Valmiki Ramayan.

Mallika ji, that picture was simply beautiful. Both of them (Dasrath and Kaikeyi) looked so great as a warrior couple. I think I'll start seeing the characters from this Ramayan in every flower I see henceforth. 😆😆😆
