Taraka definitely counts, Chatter - just that I don't have videos that early. Only time I saw that was during the Dushera Vijay Yatra show that NDTV Imagine had on.

yup taraka was also ugly with those snake like hair and clothes, someone 😛

Chandra, it will definitely be a good idea to do a poll! I wish that I had all pics of ugliest Rakshasas from beginning! But at that time, I didn't even know how to post pics and stuff! Oh, well, but we do know what most of them look like if brief description comes with each one!

chandra chatter cant keep away from the fun so i m in spamming mode though its taking my energy but keeping me in better moods also

sursaa was rakshasi who tried to stop hanuman from crossing the ocean to reach lanka

she opened her mouth big wide to get hanuman in and he obliged by reducing his form going in and coming out before she cud close her mouth

thas why i thought she cud also be in this list

Chandra, who is Kadambh? Man, I can't keep track of all these names!
He is different than Kabhandh, right? Kabhandh is the one eyed guy, looked like a mountain! Too many ugly Rakshasas and too little time!😆😆 If you start a poll, you will have atleast 20 or more ugly ones. There's room only for 8, I think😆😆

Oh no, I meant Kabhand, that same cyclops like monster whose limbs were cut by Lakshman. Kabandh otoh, if I remember right, was the name of a rishi?

We have room for 10. 😆 Viragh could have been made more ugly, but wasn't, and same was true of Taraka - both of them at least looked human, as opposed to the baldirocks twins, the obstacle cave, sursaa, and some of the other monsters who encountered Hanuman (ref pg 2)

P.S. Most of the Rakshashas who fought Rama in Aranya-kand looked like the 60's hippies out of Santa Cruz, or Berzerkley's Telegraph Avenue. I was tickled pink to see those long haired, maggot infested types being depicted as Rakshashas out to destroy the rishis 😆😆😆
