Skihism is def and more related to Hinduism than to Islam. Guru Nanak Dev ji Himself originated from a Hindu family in Punjab.

Yes, def hav to agree to this fact that our country's soil is the greatest!!😊

Thanks Samiksha n Ruby. I never knew it. There is much simmilarites between the two religions. I dont know much abt Sikhism ..my father told me that there r simmilarities between the religious philosophies of hinduism n sikhism. In 3rd sem I had Hindu personal law as one of my paper. Codified Hindu personal law appplies to Sikhs, Buddists and Jains also. Even before the codified Hindu law it was well settled that personal matters like marraige, adoption, inheritence etc of Jains, Buddists and sikhs were governed by hindu law as modified by custom prevailing amongst them.

so according 2 the law sikhs, jains n buddhists have same rules n regulations as hindus is it? but anyway arn't these 3 religions a branch of hinduism or r they completely diff. as the king has many jain frnds who worship hindu gods.

Jains are like Hindus and they do worship Hindu Gods! Not sure how different Jain religon is from Hindu religon but its very much the same.
In Buddhism, they do eat meat but Hindus dont. .....is this right??😕

in hindus it mainly the brahmins who do not eat meat. others eat meat. jains do not eat meat but buddhists can eat mat. as the srilankan frnds of the king who r budists eat meat.

Not exactly. Let me explain it.

Hindu personal law / family law governs only the personal/ family matters of Hindus, Sikhs, Budhhists n Jains (ie marriage, divorce, succession, partition, adoption, maintenance, gaurdianship).

For rest matters all indians r governed by secular laws

Hindu personal law is mainly codfied now n there r mainly four Acts in it. Hindu Marrage Act 1955( which governs marriage n divorce), Hindu Succession Act 1956 (which governs inheritence, succession, partition), Hindu Adoption & Maintenance Act 1956 (which governs Adoption n Maintenance ) and Hindu Minority and Gaurdianship Act 1956 (which governs gaurdianship) applies to

(a) to any person who is a Hindu by religion in any of of its forms or developments, including a Virashaiva, a Lingayat or a follower of the Brahmo, Prarthana or Arya Samaj;

(b) to any person who is a Buddhist, Jaina or Sikh by religion, and

(c) to any other person domiciled in the territories to which this Act extends who is not a Muslim, Christian, Parsi or Jew by religion, unless it is proved that any such person would not have been governed by the Hindu law or by any custom or usage as part of that law in respect of any of the matters dealt with herein if this Act had not been passed.

The above Statutes overrides all the different ustoms n usages prevelent amongst the various communities of Hindus,sikhs, buddhists n jains. But in some areas customs of the different communities of Hindus, Sikhs, Jains , Buddhists have been expessly saved by the above statutes. Customs play an important role in determinling the validity of marraiges. A marriage in order to be valid in eyes of law shud be ceremonially valid ie it shud be solemnized with proper ceremonies and rites which prevail in the case or community to which one of the parties or both belongs. Thus a marriage between two Sikhs must be performed according to Sikh rites otherwise marriage will not be valid.

long answer. hope ur doubts have been clarifed
