Its a popular saying in India " Ram lakhan ki jodi". Ram n Laxman r considerd as ideal brothers. Of course all four brothers r ideal but Laxman got more chance to serve Ram. Right from his childhood he served Lord Ram. They spent all difficult times together. They were friend,philosopher and guide of each other

Here r some beautiful verses abt Ram- laxman relationship

baalyaat prabhR^iti susnigdho lakSmaNo lakSmi vardhanaH || 1-18-28
raamasya lokaraamasya bhraatuH jyeSThasya nityashaH |

Right from childhood Lakshmana, the enhancer of prosperity, is always amiable towards his world-charming elder brother Rama.

sarva priya karaH tasya raamasya api shariirataH || 1-18-29
lakSmaNo lakSmi sa.mpanno bahiH praaNa iva aparaH |

Lakshmana who is endowed with the wealth of dedication dedicated himself to Rama with bodily service, and while performing all agreeable deeds in respect of Rama, he behaved like Rama's alter ego.

na ca tena vinaa nidraam labhate puruSottamaH || 1-18-30
mR^iSTam annam upaaniitam ashnaati na hi tam vinaa |

That best one among the men Rama does not get his sleep without Lakshmana and he would not eat food brought for him, however delicious it may be, without Lakshmana.

yadaa hi hayam aaruuDho mR^igayaam yaati raaghavaH || 1-18-31
atha enam pR^iSThataH abhyeti sa dhanuH paripaalayan |

Whenever Raghava mounts a horse and goes on a hunting game Lakshmana rushes after him wielding his bow as a squire.

Even today in India good brothers r compared with Ram-Laxman

Let discuss this week the various aspects of Ram Laxman relationship, ur personal view abt it, the various verses form Valmiki Ramayan, Ram charit Manas or other versions on Ram-Laxman relationship etc

(sita di n me wnted to have DOTW on it. I'll write more. Due some problem in my hard disk I lost many data my writings. I'll wite more later on)

Thanks Poorvi... for the next DOTW....

its good that we are starting with Gr8 devotees of Lord Ram...

First it was Hanumanji and now comes Lakshmanji.......

and yes... perfect Jodi when it comes to brother....

welll here come my first question on the basis of this...

why was Bharat was not given equal status as Lakshman...

i mean why it always said that Ram and Lakshman.....

if we talk about Bharat... he has done whole amount of sacrifices on his part ... then why still we always in routine language talk about Ram and lakshman....

Is there particular reason or it just that Lakshmanji follows Ramji every where.....

Its all becoz of destiny in Treta yug Sheshnag as Laxman got more chance to serve Ram. In Dwapar yug bharat took incarnation as Arjun n seved Krishna

it wud b a pleasure to discuss abt the 2 brothers !!!😛😃

i will def. come up with my views abt RAM & LAKSHMANJI !!!!😛😛

@ SAM !! yup!! i think as shesh naag always used to serve LORD VISHNU ,in the same manner LAKSHMANJI always used to serve LORD RAM !!! 😛

although bharat was very very close to RAMJI ,if BHARAT was the eyes of RAMJI,shatrughana as the arms of RAMJI ,then LAKSHMANJI was the soul of RAMJI !!!!😛

I think this is bcoz Lakshmanji got the maximan chance to be with Lord shree Ram...........and bharat ji shree Ram ke priy bhai the........Hanuman chalisa me ek line hai na mene uske basis pe ye kaha.......

Line is-TUM MAM PRIY BHARATAHI SAM BHAI

This is my opinion

TUM MAMA PRIY BHARATAHI SAM BHAI Here Ram equated Hanuman with Bharat but not with Laxman.

this shows that for Ram Laxman was very special n cant be compared with anyone
