I agree, Arti. Sage Vishvamitra and Vasishta themselves chose the auspicious moment of the wedding, so this apsara theory doesn't make sense. Plus according to Ramcharitmanas (which is apprently the source of this show *ehem*), Lord Vishnu planned the entire Ram avatar before coming to Earth. There was no need for the devtas to do anything because Sita Haran and Ravan Vadh would have happened no matter what. It was all pre-ordained by Vishnu Bhagwaan and Mata Lakshmi.
I heard that the grah pravesh was delayed for Ram and Sita because Janak detained his daughters at Mithila for too long. Out of affection for them, he wanted to keep them in his house for a little bit longer and therefore the journey to Ayodhya got delayed.

@arti, janaki

interesting ..

then the take away point is marriage did happen in an auspicious moment as you both said...so nothing would have gone wrong..so delay was any way needed...solar eclipse make sense..guess they gave it another twist..

@sanjh : i agree they should have shown the banasur thing in whole one epi itself...

I'm not liking Sita's jewelry in the promo. Is it just me? It's much better than the swayamvar but now she looks a bit underdressed. As for Ram, they copied Mohit Raina's look from Devon ke dev Mahadev. He was dressed exactly like that for Shiv-Parvati's second marriage. Did anyone else notice?

janki i dont know weather the king janak detained her daughter or not but i have read solar eclipse in balkand in valmiki version the mention is in jain version of ramyana too...i read one article realted to lord rama brth calculation...they said if dates given by valimiki and tulsidas is calculated through scicentific process there is one solar eclipse during sita and rama wedding so i guess this solar eclipse theory may be correct

personally i didnt like the twist of bringing apsara...lord rama was raghuvanshi and they never looked at other woman infact courtesan were banned in their kingdom if u read kishkinda kand were lakshman was furious to see sugriva surronded by woman and courtesan dancing tara calmed him down and said dont u know kings indulge themselves in such activities...he replied such shallow activities are restricted to demons and monkey king an aryan never demeans himself for us other lady is mother like we respect our woman alot we dont seek pleasure in such acitivities...didnt get if raghuvanshi did considered other woman mother like wht were thinking wen apsara was performinf infront of them...😳

its my POV i m not judgemental at all ...😳
