Yes we make khichdi on that day, and actually in UP the festival itself is called 'khichdi'. I dont know what is the reason but in all houses the khichdi (mix of uncooked daal and chawal, with ghee and til ke ladoo) is given as 'daan'.

even in gujarat we make khichado that day. the sweet khichado is made out of wheat and spicy khichado is made out of rice and different daals in it. I forgot what daal though.
But we have sweet khichado and spicy khichado.
it is similar to khichadi. just diffrent taste.

[quote=Nisha]

Right. My questions based on friendship:

How old is your oldest friendship? 14 years
Do you make friends easily? I have so many friends and in most of the cases the first effort was from their side. I don't take initiative to make friends.
Are you in touch with any of your school friends? No
How many close friends do you have(apart from family)
At the moment 2
Who is your role model?
Nobody is my role model. I generally don't get impressed easily.
Do you believe a man and woman can be just friends? Yes
In one word, what are your friends? Why?
My friends are the ones with whom I can share my feelings. And, with whom I can have a lot of fun.
What makes you the happiest on a normal, working day?
Being active and lively
What is the greatest compliment you have received?
Don't remember
How would you describe the perfect friend?
A perfect friend is one who cares for you, and tells you what may be right and what may be wrong for you.
What would cause you to discontinue a friendship with someone?
One who in the name of friendship takes undue advantage of me and takes me for granted.
Why is friendship different from all other relations?
Because here you form a relationship at an equal plane.
If you've had a disagreement with a friend, would you make the first move even if you were in the right? No

A friend you haven't spoken to in years suddenly gets back in touch. You didn't part on good terms...what do you do?
I would ignore the person and would never like to revive the relationship.
In your opinion, when does someone become a friend?
When you feel like he/she understands you and you are able to share your feelings with him/her.
What qualities do you most value in your friends?
Their care for me and their honesty.
What qualities do you think your friends value most in you?
I think my caring nature and valuing their emotions
Do you have lots of friends or a few close ones?
I have lot of friends but very few close friends.

And a completely random one for you - If you could jump into any book, which would it be and why?
I didn't get you. Jumping into a book means

- selecting a book, or

-getting inside the book as a character or something like that.

And now for the really cheeky question. I loved reading your story, so much so that I want another one. I have no topic to give you - so lets call it freestyle round...whatever you want to write, on whichever topic/couple/relationship from BR/RS to Rani/Nikki - the choice is entirely yours. I would just love to read more of your writing. And if you are limited by time then also no problem, I will wait...as long as you do post at some point soon....

very smart Nisha.....What do you think, I am going to take all your cheeky questions seriously. 😉😆😃

This question paper was really tough. 😃 I have tried to answer them honestly.

Getting into a book as a character. But please also answer the other question, what do you look for in selecting a book?
As for being cheeky..well..if you don't ask, you don't get 😉 😆 Still it is a serious request but I know you will only write when you are inspired. So I will just say that I hope you are inspired soon. I'll be back with the comments on friendship later

ok i will do it
use cracked wheat (phada) which is use for phada lapsi. first boll them using 2 cup water for one cup phada. you can put in pressure cooker also. once it is cooked add ghee and kismis(ghee is used for frying so you can add more or less) and keep cooking in pan till water is gone then add sugar like for 2 cup 1and 1/4 or 1 and 1/2 cup depending upon how sweet you want. once most water is gone add elaychi and jaiphal. and cook it it is dry like shiro. then add coconut and charoli (optiona)
now as a MOTW you have to make this and feed all of us. But I don't like sweets so I have to find you spicy khichado recipe tha tis also made out of cracked wheat and dals not rice.. I guess chanadal mung daal and may be toovar daal boil them and cook them with oil and laving taj neem ke pattethis time you can add green chilles. and coconut. cashews kismis salt dhaniya to taste
so now you got 2 recipes when can we come to eat.😉😆😆
