Yes we make khichdi on that day, and actually in UP the festival itself is called 'khichdi'. I dont know what is the reason but in all houses the khichdi (mix of uncooked daal and chawal, with ghee and til ke ladoo) is given as 'daan'.

wow you like ti cry. you like spicey things and not sweets and you are capricorn. chalo we have those 4 things in common.😊But please don' talk about mom, you and payal both talking about your moms made me cry.😭😭because I lost both my parents in my 20's . and my mom made best khichdo and khichdi.well my oldest bhabhi and my younest bhabhi learned from my mom and made khichdo so many times when I went back home.beena may be it is normal to make khichado in amdavad on uttrayan .. that is why payal and I know about khichdo. i agree with U DI..in Ahmedabad most every house they make Khichdo on Uttrayan..Payal I have to come there sooner to eat khichdo now.😆😆When U come SJ i make Khichdo for U both..Kirti would you like to have another set of questions?Kirti you are so good..i like all your ans..i have to reply some ans..which i am going do weekend ..we have a long weekend..

I prefer the books which are based on real aspects of life, basically which depict the hidden beauty of human nature. But I don't want to read bitter realties or an ugly side of life.

Me too. Reading is an escape from the realities.
As far as jumping in a book, so far I haven't found any character attractive enough to feel it by myself. Not even a fairy tale character.
