Maybe Swati was trying to test RM by saying such things.....coz she mustve heard abt him being a wife beater so maybe she wanted to see how he reacts to her and probably wanted to get some truth from his mouth. I think she decided that rather be defensive about any past relationships she had, she'd lay this out, along w/ an account that couldn't but make him sympathetic to her. Rahul must have felt wierd. Also, Swati may have thought that if she does end up marrying him, by sounding him off on this, she's pre-empting such a similar treatment from Rahul, given both their histories.
