Chapter 1

'If you can't let go, if you can't forgive, if your thoughts are about revenge and feeling sorry about yourself, you won't move on; you will stay stuck.'

She glanced at the screen of her mobile where the words forwarded on a social site are mocking at her; a sad smile appeared on her lips reading them. She wondered whether the person who posted this quote really know the true meaning behind those words or was it just another heart touching quote for him. It surely did create turmoil in her' mind as she felt the words were just meant for her. It did tug some loose threads of her mind but her turmoil was because of the reason behind this uneasiness.

She believed she did let go of her past a long time ago and it is not like she has to forgive someone. And how can one forgive his own fate and will it change anything?

Her thoughts are not exactly about revenge, how can one take revenge upon himself for even being born, for dreaming happiness when fate snatched away those years before? She knew it was her mistake to hope when nothing was in her favour. Yet it was the only way she could save herself from falling into the abyss of depression.

Her thoughts reminded her those' words of her distinct past, the same words which compelled her to hope. 'Zoya, Never lose your hope' - the words were spoken with so much love and tender which is the very reason why she believed them in the first place. The voice had turned faint and blurred but the words are still clear, and the touch of love in it can be unmistakably recognised.

Then, she already gave up on feeling sorry about herself as she knew it won't change her life rather make her vulnerable and weak, which she could never allow. Moreover, she believed she moved on a long time back from those memories of past but what about those nightmares which still hunts her down?

Tracking the way her mind is going she let those thoughts take a backseat and concentrated on the work on hand. She is trying to make something edible for this last day of her so-called holidays, which she is apparently enjoying on her own. Yes, she is on her holidays in her apartment in London away from her house or rather to be more precise mansion. Wondering why house and not home because there is no one in there waiting for her return, to bug her to know the details of her trip, to scold her for doing her office work even during her holidays.

She is back in London after almost a year and this place reminded her of the holidays she spent here as a child not as a loner like now or all these years she visited but as a happy family. In actual she came here to attend a conference which ended one week back and she had to prolong her stay as the legal advisor of her company cum her childhood friend as usual decided to turn into her personal advisor and ordered her secretary to book the tickets one week later. Since she couldn't say an outright no when it comes to this special person in her life who supported her through every thick and thin she had o comply.

Zoya wondered initially what is her friend up to as it is a very known fact that she can't stay away from her work but now she realized she indeed needed a change to get away from all those stress and busy schedule of back to back contracts, signing contracts of millions . And she could not be more grateful to her friend for this but as always she wouldn't acknowledge this openly, rather put up a fight for the childish behavior.

Finally, she made some pasta for her dinner, even with many servants to look after all her needs, she is very much independent and knew how to take care of herself. After doing the dishes she decided to call it a day and she moved to her bedroom to hit the bed as she has an early morning flight to catch.

At another part of the same city, a man is trying hard to sleep but his efforts are fruitless. He is going back to his motherland tomorrow, to his loving family after his stay of almost one month in this foreign land. He is very much happy for returning back home but a pinch of uneasiness is still there in his heart. He may know the reason for it but as always ignored it being a 'strong' man who portrayed himself to be a 'happy' man.

He already completed shopping for his whole family few days back as he know otherwise his little sisters wont spare him a chance. They could easily melt The Great AAK with their perfect execution of the super cool plans exclusively planned by none other than the most super cool dadi. He smiled fondly remembering them and their crazy antics. His smile grew wider as the thoughts of his devil of a brother popped up in his mind.

When his thoughts drifted, into other family members his smile turned into a smile of contentment but there was still something amiss in that smile.

Lost in his thoughts he did not realise when he surrendered into a deep slumber
