She dragged her feet as she walked away from the mansion reminiscing all the moments she had lived and all the days she had stayed there. A tear trickled down her cheek and she didn't bother to wipe it off. Why was it bothering her so much that she was leaving this unworthy place? The place where people disrespected her and judged her on her looks instead of her soul. The place where people stepped on her heart and made a joke out of her. She closed her eyes shut and another tear rolled down her cheek as she remembered how Azaad had pulled her to the mirror and hacked her heart with his words that felt like razor-edged knives. He didn't even apologize even when his mother and everyone else told him to. That ill-mannered brute.
"Great." She huffed as she rolled her eyes.
In a couple of minutes, she noticed more raindrops descending and settling onto her body and in a moment the rain cascaded down the heavens embracing the earth along with her body.
She sensed the cool drops of rain hitting her warm skin as she inhaled the scent of the wet soil. The raindrops trailed down her body; mixing themselves with the mud that had dried to her skin. She felt so light and at peace, as if the raindrops were erasing all her pain and all of her worries. She stretched her arms out allowing the raindrops to roll off of her arms, and her lips formed a smile.
He gazed at her as she stood there under the rain. Like a dream his fingers stretched to touch, but his eyes feared it would fade away. He didn't want to take the risk and preferred to just continue watching from a distance. Her damp dress clang to her body, clearly shaping out her beautiful curves and full breasts. His heart thundered against his rib cage while his mouth went dry. He eyed her as she lifted her hands and began collecting the descending raindrops and splashing them onto her beautiful face. She was innocent, cute, hot, and sexy all at the same time and he couldn't stop his feet from walking towards her.
Mahira brought her arms to her side when she noticed a tall figure with broad shoulders coming towards her direction. The rain had blurred her vision and she couldn't quite recognize who the person was yet her heard beat increased as if it sensed his arrival. She fluttered her eyelashes to detect the water and her eyes melted into a pair of familiar amber eyes.
"Azaad." She murmured his name so quietly making sure he didn't hear.
What was he doing here? Was he following her? She couldn't help but wonder what could be the reason for him being here. She gazed at him standing there a couple of inches away from her. The raindrops dripping off his chiseled chin, while some trailed down his forehead and halted at his lips. His wet kurta outlining his broad shoulders and bulging muscles. She felt her heart pounding in her ears and she feared if Azaad could hear it too.
As if he heard her, he moved his legs forward removing the little space that had existed between them. She looked into his amber eyes that reflected in the rain as he gazed at her. She felt that weird light feeling again and the butterflies started to roam in her stomach.
"Wh...What are you doing here?" She managed to say something at last to distract her eyes and mind from concentrating on him.
"I..." He paused to find a lie he could tell her. He possibly couldn't tell her he was following her all that time.
"I was going to buy medicine for my mother." He lied.
She nodded her head even though something about the way he shifted his eyes while he spoke, made her sense he was lying.
"What are you doing here under the rain?" He reversed the question to her.
"Well as you know I have decided to leave your honorable mansion and I was walking my way to the main road when it started to pour." Her tone was dry now and aloof.
He turned his face to the side to hide the guilt in his eyes.
"You won't get an auto in this weather. No one will stop for you."
He paused for some time before speaking again.
"If.. If you don't mind let me drop you with my car to your destination."
She stared at him in disbelief.
"Excuse me? Did I hear that right? Mr. Azaad himself is offering to drop me with his car! Now that's something only a gentleman would do and from what I know that's something so far from Mr. Azaad."
The rain continued to poor and hit their warm bodies as they stood facing each other. Even the cooling rain drops couldn't extinguish the flaming battle within them.
Without a further notice, he took further steps until he was so close to her that she felt his warm breath fanning over her cheek. She lifted her eyes hesitantly and drowned herself in those piercing amber eyes again. "Mahira you need to stop staring at him." She spoke in her inner mind. "He's going to know how much you have fallen for him." Her feet receded back a little to keep some safe distance from him and she let her eyes dive away from him searching for something to distract her.
Before even having the time to see the wound, Azaad had already grabbed on to her arm and was already inspecting it. His eyes reflected concern and his eyebrows knitted as he eyed the scratch. He brushed his thumb over her wound, causing a chill to go up her spine in the process.
She jerked her hand away from him immediately as her eyes shot at him.
"Please stop showing fake concern. I already know what you think of me. Don't fall farther in my eyes than you have already fallen."
"I'm going to go away from you now. You will never see my face again. Go celebrate and bring some pretty girl to adorn your bed."
She turned around to leave, when a tight grip of a strong hand circled around her arm and tugged her backward, pushing her into something hard.
"Enough!" He bellowed as his eyes burned like fire.
"I can't take these accusations anymore! I can't handle the way you look down on me! I can't take the hatred your eyes shoot at me anymore! I just...can't!"
She stared at him in surprise and fear, appalled with his behavior.
"I had to do this to get you away from me." He let the words flow out of his mouth as if he didn't have any control over what he was saying.
"I will only bring harm for you. You might lose your life if I keep you by my side. Bad things happen to you when I'm near you." He continued to speak without meeting her eyes.
She stared at him in disbelief as her vision blurred from the tears that had started to glisten in her eyes.
"How...how could you?" Her lips barely formed the words.
"How could you take that decision without asking me?!" She spat the words, feeling angered and pained at the same time.
"You really thought I would be happy living away from you? You actually thought I could forget you and your harsh words?"
Azaad let his body drop down and his knees buckled under him meeting the wet ground. He sobbed as he positioned his head downward not wanting to meet her eyes.
"I'm sorry Mahira. I'm... really sorry." He spoke through muffled tears.
She wiped her tears as she moved towards him and kneeled down wrapping her hands around his broad shoulders as she tried to help him up.
He rose to his feet and his tearful eyes met hers. A smile crept on their lips as Mahira threw herself into his arms. Resting his palm on her waist, he curled his fingers around while she dug her face further into his chest feeling his warmth.
"A...Aza..Azaad." She panted as she spoke his name and her heart raced like a train. A rush of heat invaded her chest and spread to every limb in her body.
He felt an erotic sensation burn his insides as he heard her call his name. She closed her eyes waiting for his lips to embrace hers any second. Gently, he pressed his lips onto hers and noticed how soft they were. At first her lips resisted a little, but he quickly began to feel them melt into his. She lifted her hand that rested on his shoulder and settled it on his cheek while her fingers lingered on his chiseled jaw as she felt the sharpness of his jawline.
They slowly broke out of the kiss, their foreheads resting on each other as they gasped for air. Their eyes stayed shut as their lips stretched into a smile. The rain poured heavily, cascading over their hot bodies that wrapped around each other.
They were joined together forever now. Their soul, heart, and body had become inseparable.
