Next morning

Asad decided to visit kids before going to office and deep down he want to see Zoya. Zoya opens door after Asad ring the bell of her apartment.

Good morning Ms.Farooqui.Asad wished her comes inside of apartment without listening answer of zoya. She was shocked at the audacity of this men he is roaming around like he owns her house' she thought irritated.

Where are kids? Asked asad.

They are sleeping zoya retort back.

As Asad was standing behind a table something caught his Attention.

This is you' Dr. Zoya Farooqui??

Zoya saw that he was holding a paper back copy of her book. The photo on the flyleaf was turned to her and he appered to be scanning the bio in the inner page.

Yes'. She admitted. Not much point if denying it;the photo was not good likeness but it was still recognisably.

You wrote a book on child care'? Asad asked,closing the book nd running his index finger down the spine before placing it back to he table. His eyes touched her and Zoya Nodded . And people read it?'

She flushed at the the sarcasm in her voice. I've had a lot of letters prom parents who found it useful. She gritted defiantly.

Everything about you suggests adolescence and immaturity. If it was your intention to deceive then I must conclude that you have a lot of growing up to do,' he delivered scornfully.

As she listened to this ruthless character assessment his feature swam out of focus as hot, angry tears of humiliation filled her eyes. Zoya pressed one clenched fist against her mouth before she had enough control of her temper to speak. It was not her nature to take such treatment lying down.

Asad caught the shimmer of tears in the beautiful eyes before she turned her head away. As infuriating as he found her sharp-tongued antagonism and total lack of respect, he found the young women's dejected behaviour and bowed head infinitely harder to endure.

The moment her head lifted he realised his lament her fire and spirit had been premature.

if we are going into character analysis I'd say a man over thirty who mentally strips a women he thinks is a teenager stand some examination!'

By the look of Asad she find proof that her jibe had found his mark.

Men look , it is their nature,' he framed with a shrug.

Zoya got the impression , despite his cool contention, her remark had really got to him. Well , its not my nature to stand there and take it.'

He froze and looked at her as if he couldn't believe what she had said. His entire body was rigid with a combination of outrage and disbelief.

Even as she was in the process of delivering her acid retort Asad could almost hear the sound of her control snapping. He blamed himself for being too distracted to register that she had been on the brink of this breakdown. He was naturally sympathetic to her loss, but he had enough problems of his own without getting caught up in someonebelse's trauma.

Come here,' he instructed, a note of exasperation in his deep voice.

There was no resistance in the pliant body he drew against his. She felt cold, incredibly fragile and strangely the essence of everything that was female.A deep sigh vibrated through her slender frame as he smoothed down her hair in distracted fashion.

They stood that way for some time. Asad felt the exact moment she stopped reacting like a hurt animal seeking comfort and became aware of where she was and become aware of where she was and who he was-the enemy. Her body jackkinfied away from him.she lowered her eyes quickly.

Asad placed a finger under her chin and firmly tilted her face upwards. He scanned her tear-stained face critically.

When did you Last have any sleep?' he demanded.' I'm fine.' He was looking at her much the way he had Saif when he considered defying him. There was nothing remotely childlike about the way she was feeling.

I'm not considered to be a patient man.'

This drew a weak laugh from her. now there's a surprise.'

When?'

She frowned in concentration. I think I had a couple of hours last night.'

You know, the world might look less bleak if you had a decent night's sleep. Is there no one who could help you out with the children to let you get some sleep? Your mother ,may be?'

This suggestion produced a bitter laugh.'My mother has a meeting.' Could I sound more bitter and twisted?

That sound like an unresolved issue-is that the correct pyscho-babble speak?'

It works,'she agreed.

In that case I won't go there.'

Then there is something that you should give try on that.'

Zoya's eye widened with alarm as he framed her face between his hands, his thumb stroking the delicate but firm line of her jaw as he studied her. Zoya trembled, totally mesmerised by the hungry expression that slid into his dark eyes. Asad's breathing quickened as he watched the pupils of her eyes dilate.

When his hands abruptly fell away Zoya was left with knees of cotton wool and a terrible sense of anti-climax.

Trust me on this one,' he suggested in strangely grim manner.
