Chap 8
-what's wrong with me? Why I am feeling so powerless, and so lost in my emotions, I am loosing my mind, loosing my life and loosing my heart, she whispered to herself looking at the sky.
-exactly, what's wrong with you? How can you be all alone in the night? This is crazy, Zed.
-Leo, don't be spoilsport, you will see how the roads were beautiful at night, it's so quiet and peaceful, the night for me was the best moment to pray and to think. Imagine, while all are sleeping, you are all alone with the Almighty, can you imagine how unique you are?
-I agree but you can do it in your room, laying on your bed. Zed, you should not go outside all alone, I will not feel safe to know you in the road alone.

She was suffocated with all this feeling, she wanted him as much as she didn't want to be with him, her inner conflict shook her strongly, giving her only doubts about what to do. And today, she was facing this new Leo, who looked obsessed to rectify past, forcing her, pushing her in her limits and she was suffocated next to him, breathless with all this pain and craving love that he had in his heart, and it scared her. She scrubbed her face frustrated and clasped her hands on her neck, she looked at this night, who looked perfect without any cloud and only stars. She always found peace in the night and she asked for mercy from the sky, she asked for peace in her heart and his too, she asked to take the right decision and she needed sign, only one.
-Zoya, he called her and she turned to face him but she stepped back and extanded her hands to stop him.
-leave me alone, Asad, I need to be alone, please, I don't want to fight or to hurt you, step back.
-I don't want to leave you alone, Zoya
-why don't you leave me, Asad? I didn't ask you anthing and if you want I forgive you, I forgive you for anything you asked but please I want to be alone now, she turned back to the sky.
-why are you pushing me away now, Zoya? We were closed when for you I was Asad and now that you know who I am, you are pushing me. Forget about Leo and just look at me as Asad and only Asad. We used to be friend, Zoya.
-but I can't ignore this part of you and now that I know why you are doing all of this gave me doubt about your feelings. We are no more in this friendship and you are not anymore acting like a friend but like an obsessed man, Asad.

He might didn't say the right words in the past but his words of today touched her heart deeply and realized that he suffered as much as she suffered all this years. However, she can't stop herself from feeling guilty, she should have fight and didn't leave after his hurtfull words, she should have force him and prove her innocence, but she was young and broken. The shock of him accusing her stuned her and killed her inside. She can't forget his eyes and the hate that he gave her, it was the worst thing that she was still remembered until today. She looked into his eyes and saw only love, determination and tears. Her fingers trembled in reflex and she felt diving again into his words and his eyes, he was right she was scared of this crazy love that he proposed but she will be for sure more scared to loose him again. She took a deep breath and moved her hand to him. Asad deciphered her turmoil but when he saw her fingers moving to him, he smiled inwardly, she was finally taking a step toward him, he thought this day will never come but today he was close to erase all his pain , he then waited for her, he didn't want to force this time. It was the longest seconds for him.
Zoya stepped hesitantly when she felt a hash push on her back and she was about to fall when Asad ran to hold her.
-Are you ok? He asked worried
-yeah, she composed herself avoiding to look at him. He looked below her shoulder and saw three men, who looked drunk, it was clear that they were in their world. Asad felt his blood boiling.
-Are you blind? He roared at them, don't you see when you walked?
The three of them turned back and looked at them surprised.
-sorry man, I don't have my shade, see, he pointed at his eyes, and the others laughed at him.
Asad growled in anger and wanted to show them, but Zoya interposed posing her hands on his arms:
-Let it be Asad, let's go inside
-oh woow, you are right man, I am blind, he rubbed his eyes, how could I miss such a sexy and hot girl like this? He eyed shamelessly Zoya from head to toe and the other mimicked the wolf scream.
-How dare you? Asad shouted at them but still Zoya stopped him.
-Asad, let it be, they are drunk, let it be, she told him but his eyes were locked with them.
-Come with us sweetheart, we are going to take care of you, he said and Zoya felt disgust but preferred to ignore him. Come on, promise, we will be gentle with you.

Zed and Leo rolled their eyes and continued their walk.
-Leo, my shoes are dirty, I need you to clean them, with your tongue, Akram insulted Leo and he clapped his hand with his friends who were just laughing idiotically at his stupid jokes.
Zed couldn't hold her rage and stepped back to face him, but Leo stopped her, he knew how impulsive she can be.
-Zed, let it be, he is mean and just ignore him, like I am doing, and he tried to put sense into her mind to calm her.
-But Leo, I can't let him talk to you like this
-Let-it-be, I am fine, let's go, he smiled at her and she sighed eyeing dangerously Akram.

Akram fumed that his provocation didn't work with them.

Leo closed his eyes and tightened his grip around her hand, Zed looked at him and saw his pain. She clenched her jaw strongly and she can't let him insulting her friend anymore, today everything should stop and she will teach him.
-No, Asad don't please, don't fight, you can't with your operation, let them go
-I can't Zed, I can't Zed, and he was like in trance

Zed turned to Leo and he smiled at her, touched with her care. Her eyes showed him how much she was happy that finally she freed him from this monster. She was indeed crazy but for him, she threw herself in danger and didn't hesitate once. His eyes moistened seeing her beautiful dimple only for him, he didn't know why he felt strong feeling in his heart, he wanted to hug her and to tell her how much he loves her. He loves her, this word rang in his mind suddenly. He saw her smiling and suddenly, she grimaced.
He was pushed and the two held him while the other started to beat him in his belly, but Asad didn't feel anything instead he was challenging them to beat more.
-this is all you can do, I thought you were a true men, come on beat more
-LEAVE HIM, Zoya yelled at them but they kept beating him on his chest, tummy and face, and Asad started to bleed but like he didn't care, instead he was asking for more smiling and pushing them to continue with his arrogance.
She didn't fight for so long but she can't let this massacre continue, they were going to hurt him badly and put his life in danger. She came behind and hit his knee with her feet and he fell on them, she then gave him a brief and curt hit on his carotid with all her force. The guy fell on the floor and Asad grabbed both of them and smacked their front against each other. Both felt droggy and he took both of their heads and smacked them again. Both fell on the ground.
Zoya saw Asad's eyes dressed with rage, he looked up and soon his anger left to be replaced by worry.
Akram stood behind her and hit her side with a baton by surprised, Leo didn't get the time to warn her, he was so quick. Akram then slapped her hard on her face and she fell down crying in pain. Leo ran to him when he was about to hit her tummy with his foot, he managed to push him away from her and he fell down.
-Zed are you ok? He bent down worried
-Leo, she touched her side and grimaced, it hurts, she winced
-how dare you? Akram slapped him on his face and his glasses fell, Leo tried to search for his glasses, he can't see without them but Akram pushed them far with his foot. Hold him, he ordered to them. Leo was dragged away from her .
-you know what your punishment will be Leo? You know it right
-I am not scared of you Akram and I won't let you hurt her, he struggled under their grip but they were stronger. Akram slidded his fingers on his cheeks.
-Really? You think you can stop me, ME? YOU? Akram couldn't hold his laugh, You are weak, coward and useless Leo. See, since you became her friend, you change a lot Leo, and I am really disappointed right now, I think I should remind you some small thing to put sense in your mind. Akram punched him hard on his tummy cutting Leo's breath, and he continued beating him on his face, his chest, his side, he didn't let any part that he didn't hit hard.
-LEEOOO, Zed called him, she wanted to help him but the pain on her side didn't let her breath properly or to move. She was helpless but she tried to push her body taking balance on her elbow, clenching her jaw hardly because of the pain. AKRAAMMM LEAVE HIM. He didn't care and kept beating him. Leo started to bleed profusely and couldn't stand properly on his feet. He took the wooden stick and rolled in his fingers approaching a droggy Leo, he took and lifted it into the air,
-AKRAMMM NOOO, Zed yelled but he broke it on Leo's head. Akram grabbed his hair and spoke to him.
-Now, that I show you your right place, I will show her too and my friends and I will take care of her, don't worry we will be gentle with her, pussy cat, he jerked his head and Akram's friend left him. Leo couldn't anymore stand and he fell on his face on the ground totally unconscious.

Akram held both of her wrist and put her on her back, his knees parted around her waist. She yelled in pain with his brusq and felt a sharp pain going throught her body.
-my little lioness, look at your friend laying on the ground, you should have listen to him, you would have spare him this torture.
-Akram, please, please, I am begging you, call emergency, look at him, please, Akram, save him, she begged him, she didn't care anymore about her, she only wanted Leo to be safe. He was right, it was all because of her, she was responsible for Leo's state, if something happened to him, she won't forgive herself.

Zoya gasped and saw the blood falling from his forehead. Asad smirked at the guy who was looking totally scared by him. He tried to box Asad but he trapped his fist in his palms.

-Asad, don't do this, you will hurt yourself, Zoya tried to stop him but he was not listening, he let her and came to this man.
-Not even the death will stop me today, Asad retorted to them.
He heard a familiar voice, who seemed to be really far, but he knew this voice. He then found himself walking in a huge room with a bright light, all the furniture around him seemed abnormally large and tall, like he was dwarf, he tried to walk but he didn't know why he can't proceed nicely and he fell on the floor.
-stand up son come on stand up, he saw his father talking to him and conforted him.
-abbu? His lips shivered, then woman came to him and he felt her soft and tender hands around him, making him stand on his feet. Ammi? He called her and tears fell on his cheeks, his parent was here with him.
-Rashid you should help him, and she kissed his forehead and wiped his tears.
-Dilshad, you should let him stand on his feet alone
-I know but as long as I am here, I will not let him get hurt. She smiled tenderly at him and he cried seeing her care that he craved for so long.

He felt emotional, he never saw them so clear, so real, their voices, their touches and their cares were the only thing that he missed. He wanted to tell them so many things, to scream his pain, why did they leave him all alone here? He wanted to cry on their chest telling them how much he missed them in his life. He wanted to talk to them about his life, about Zed...He looked below their parent's shoulder and saw her standing far, talking to him, but he can't hear and he tried to read on her lips and his eyes grew up widely.
-Leo, help me, he deciphered on her lips.
He opened his eyes abruptly and he was not anymore with his parent, but he was here laying on the floor. He felt all his body broken in small pieces. He heard Zed begging to help him and he then heard Akram's voice.
-I will but first I will take care of you sweetheart
Leo drew the rest of energy he still had, he was not dead yet and until he could breath, he wont let her alone and he will stand up.
-STOOOPPP, he shouted at Akram.
The fourth of them looked up , Akram and his friend were horrified while Zed was relieved to see him back.
-Leo, she sobbed. He stood up with difficulties, he felt his bones and body cracking with every of his moves but he didn't care, he will fight today for himself, for her and she needed him, he can't let her down.
-Akram, you will not hurt her until I am on my feet, Leo said angrily, sending shiver to Akram and co. His face and clothes covered with blood and his body tensed, he walked slowly toward them dragging his broken body and with every move, he groaned in pain.
-beat him, Akram ordered his men but they stopped when he talked to them
-what's wrong with you Akram? You are scared of me? Leo challenged him, he needed him to move away from her and hurting his ego, will give her time to escape.
-Scared? Me? Akram stood up finally and came to him.
-then why don't you just finish what you start? His eyes glared at him.
-Leo, no, just go, Zed pleaded
-Listen to her, Leo, I don't want to hurt you more, Akram turned his heels
-you will not touch her until I am still on my feet, Akram, he was now between him and Zed.
-you know what Leo, I'll make you bite the dust and silence your big mouth and then I will enjoy and get satisfy with her body. Akram punched him hard on his tummy, Leo felt his guts explosed under his hit but he didn't move inch.
-this is all you got, Akram, he provoked him smiling at him. Akram couldn't imagine that Leo was still on his feet after that punch he have to him.
-you will see then, Akram was in rage, he hit with all his force but Leo didn't move from inch, he absorbed the hits one after the other tightening his jaw. Akram then kept beating him again and again, until he was breathless.
-What are you? He could only say this, and he stepped back paralyzed by Asad bloody eyes. He hitted him but he was still on his feet like he was made by stone and he tried to catch his breath after all the punches that he gave him.
-as long as I am on my feet you will never hurt her, Akram, Asad replied, the guy frowned and shook his head frantically.
-I am not Akram, I am not Akram, but Asad could only see Akram on his face, he was at this moment, not anymore Asad but Leo, this young boy fightting death to save her.
He grabbed him by his collar and this time, he let out all his frustration out, he kept boxing him again and again like a mad man. The man fell on the ground and Asad followed him and punched him on his face harder and harder.
-I WON'T LET YOU HURT HER, I WON'T LET YOU, I WILL KILL YOU AKRAM, I WILL KILL YOU AKRAM FOR WHAT YOU DID TO ME, TO HER. Asad yelled at him and his mind kept flashing Akram on Zed's body that day, this image didn't leave his mind.
-ASAD STOP YOU ARE GOING TO KILL HIM, ASAD, STOP IT NOW, Zoya grabbed his shoulders but he pushed her and she fell on the ground.
-YOU WON'T HURT HER UNTIL I AM ON MY FEET, I AM NOT DEAD AND I AM NOT WEAK, I AM NOT WEAK, Asad was in trance and nobody seemed able to stop him.
-LEO STOOOPPP, Zoya finally called him and he froze his fist stopped inch from the guy's face. He looked at her, breathing sharply
-Leo, please don't do this, you are not like this.
The pain in her voice created a shock in his brain and he can see her clearly now as Zoya, and her eyes crying and asking him to stop. He blinked many time, and the blurt image of the past diseapered to bring him back to the present and when he looked down the guy, he was not Akram. Asad stepped back in panic hiding his face between this palms. He then looked at his hand full with blood, he gasped and wiped the mark with his coat.
Zoya looked at him and realized that he was living again this moment, when Akram bitted him to death, he was in trance and inhabited by Leo's spirit. She realized the pain and frustration that he trapped since that day, and she was responsible of what Leo became and how he gave rise to Asad. She felt herself like Akram, he might hurted his body but she marked his soul and spoiled his dreams. He stopped to live and became bitter, this Asad was the sad and the weak part of Leo. What if she decided to fight that day he pushed her away? Why she didn't get his courage to stand up no matter her wound, no matter his words? Why she didn't hear his pain behind his sharp words and his accusation? He stood up with his broken bones to save her, but she left him and she didn't make justice to what he did for her. She felt guilty and none worth to be with him. Today, she saw a broken man with a bleeding heart who needed to live, he needed to be happy and she will force him to get back to his initial road, no matter what, but he needed to be alone.
-Zoya, he touched her cheek taking her away from her thought. She pushed his hand and stepped back
-it's over Asad, it s all over. And she left him totally agape.
-I am sorry, Zoya, listen to me, he walked behind her but she kept moving away wiping her tears. I promise I will change, he grabbed her elbow and forced her to look at him. I will control my anger and I promise it will never reach you, I prefer to die than to hurt you again.
-Asad, please leave me, I don't want to be with you, you have your life to live
-but I don't want to live without you, Zoya, why don't you understand? He shook her
-You should move on, Asad, did you see what happened? Did you see this pain and anger that you have inside of you? You are still trapped in the past, you are still in this bitter past. You think if you got me you will reconcile with your past, but Asad this is wrong, you need to find this Leo that you caged , you need to find yourself and to fill your past dreams. You need to move on and you don't need me in this.
-Zoya, please don't say this, I finally found you, don't ask me to leave you, don't do this to me, don't push me away, please I need you, you are my reason to be alive.
-No Asad, I am the reason why you stop to live, and I don't want to carry this guilt. I forgive you and I just want you to go.
-all this reason are bullshit, Zoya, you love me as I love you. Stop talking about Leo, I am not anymore him, I am Asad and I can protect you from everything. I can love you, I can make you happy, I can stand on my feet in front of the world for you but Leo can't do this, he is weak and fragile, useless and trivial.
-Leo was never weak Asad, Leo was strong, generous, caring and optimistic, Leo was stronger than you and you are the weaker here. He faced Akram to protect me, he gave his life and his love that day. Leo teach me love, friendship, he teach me life and happiness. Leo was not a weak person, but you Asad, all I can see, is that you are bitter, sad, rough and insensitive. You are rejected him, you are digusted of this soft part of you and you don't know how to deal with your past, you are prey of your emotions and you rejected the only person that made you stronger, and it's Leo.
-Shut up, Zoya, you don't know what you are talking about, it was because of him that I lost you.
-No, Asad, it's because of me, Leo was just hurted and I didn't stand for him like he did for me, I was not enough strong and I was weak. I should have force him to listen to me, but I just ran like you are doing now, Asad. I left him behind killing the last part of Leo and here you are today, the worst bitter part of him.
-I love you Zoya, I love you
-but I only love Leo and I will always love him, but not you Asad, you are not the one that I want to be with. She removed his grip and turned away. She was forced to hurt him, she wanted him to be happy and to find himself. She loved both of them but the truth was that she loved Asad more and what she saw from him, it broke her heart. Asad was like a lost child who lost his road and he needed to find this happiness that he left behind. He needed to find this Leo that he hated and took him as responsible for his pain. She was not the reason for his cure but the person who trigger his death years back, she was the reason of this sadness in his eyes. He was full of regrets and no matter how much love she can give him, he will always feel guilty like she was feeling now. She wanted him to fill his dreams first.
Asad stood agape with what she was saying to him, he changed a lot, he changed his body, his mental and he was now controlling his feelings, he was respected, feared and successful. How can she say that he was weak? How can't she recognize that she was blind and being emotionall? How can she love Leo and not him? How dare she go away from him? He closed his fist in anger.
-I am not weak, he said and she stopped, I am not weak, Zoya, I AM NOT WEAK, YOU HEAR ME, I AM NOT WEAAAKKK, I DID ALL THIS FOR YOU.
-it's all over, Asad, it's all over. She said without turning back.
