I heard that Forum 32 people are coming to this Forum to "Gauge the mood", so I thought I will give them a balanced view and show them that there are varying views regarding their current track.
Personally I think they should venture into making "adult" shows! That is the business that suits them now. Because their tastes and presentation seem to be going that way, and it is definitely not prime time material anymore. Even during RAHAFA the cheapness was overloaded, The only difference is, now they have decided to do a similar story with the actual female lead.
I cant believe the makers of this show have got SO desperate, that they have sunk to this level? That scene between Shaad and Jannat when Jannat was half dressed was one of the cheapest and tackiest scenes I have seen on an Indian TV show. Never have I seen a scene where they show a women expose her semi clad body to a man who is a perfect stranger to her. (Yes she thinks he is her husband and that is why she is exposing). But he knows he is not, and so do the makers! But they are showing it, for shock value and to "Manufacture" a situation where Shaad has to see her half clad body and touch her! This cynical attempt to "Set up" this sort of scene was very apparent. There was absolutely no class in that scene at all, and shows the level these makers have lowered themselves to.
Everyone knows no girl from a conservative Pakistani family will dress like an "Item Girl" for her Walima? So why did the makers put Jannat in a small choli with no back, exposing her whole back and also most of her stomach? They did it, so Shaad would see her half naked and also be forced to touch her. I still dont understand why they have to stoop to "This" level? Exactly what are they trying to prove? They could have done that with a less revealing top as a Dori tying scene, and it may not have looked this bad! I fail to understand the need for this level of vulgarity!
Asad and Zoya had amazing chemistry in this show. They never had ONE cheap, tacky or nasty scene enacted between them. No nudity of any kind. Only that tub scene when Asad is in the tub and Zoya sees his six pack! That was a very funny scene and well executed! Everyone appreciated it. Even after they become an official couple, and even after their marriage, we never got to see ANY risque scenes between them. It was always so decently done! But NOW? These same makers have sunk to the lowest level. I will not be surprised if they show this pretend relationship being "consummated". After all in 2 weeks, they have had Shaad walk around in his underwear and Jannat walk around with back and chest and stomach exposed to Shaad!
So what is next? How much lower are they going to sink? In two weeks it got to this level? It is very clear they are "Manufacturing" these far fetched situations to show vulgar scenes. It is so obvious. That is the reason they have made Jannat act the way she has. She acts more like an "Alien" than a normal human who suddenly does not remember her name. Not once has she asked Shaad anything about her family or where she comes from, or WHY she does not recall any of it? She says she has "Bhoolneki Bimari" and dismisses all of it.
I am a person who lived all my life in a western and secular society and even I found that scene offensive and highly inappropriate. Others from similar backgrounds to me who are also Non Indians have told me the same. So I wonder exactly how conservative Indian TV audience will respond to such scenes?
Qubool Hai was once a classy show. Now it is officially falling into the gutter. I cant believe that this was once a show that everyone could sit and watch with their family. Now you feel embarrassed even watching it on your own! Only Gul Khan and her team have the skill to take something that was once so good, and turn it into what it is now!
