Ok I am so late with updates 😆 But here is part 3A and 3B should be up once I edit it. I so badly wanted to include the SaHil scene in this one but had to push it to B. But still hope you guys enjoy the bonding between the siblings and their respective views on love!

Khan Villa at night...
As Sanam stepped out of the shower and got ready for bed she saw Seher humming to herself as she brushed her hair in front of her mirror. Tonight was their chill out night where they would sleep in either of their rooms and stay up late to share all the little fun details from their week. Sanam looked around her room, everything was just in place. She loved her room in perfect order while Seher loved to give her bedroom a more "natural feel" by keeping it messy. As Sanam changed into her night clothes, she saw that Seher was still brushing her hair, with a lost look in her eyes.
"Pyaar ka khumar leke, ishq ke bahar leke saapno mein mere aaye woh, mann mein mere muskurane woh" Sanam sang emphasizing on the "woh".
Seher broke out of her little dream land as Sanam winked at her as she sat on the bed.
"Kya baat hai, aaj mausam kuch zyaada hi aashiqana hai." Seher rolled her eyes but couldnt prevent herself from blushing.
"Api your the one singing the love song. Lagta hai tum par mausam ka effect hai."
Sanam laughed as she grabbed her hairbrush. "Nope, you know me I dont find much difference in mausam. Except I do prefer sunshine over rain. Of course Haya feels that rain oozes romance. I mean all she does is day dream about Rahat jiju during rainy days. They even go on dates in the rain."
Seher chuckled as Sanam handed her the brush to place on the dresser and shook her head. Haya and her prince charming Rahat. He was her fiance and they were to get married in a few months. Sanam had to admit, Rahat was a very nice guy. He had the knight in shining armor feel that Haya always wanted and was well established and happy career-wise so the family was happy with the alliance too. Both Seher and herself really enjoyed playing pranks on their new jiju. He was always cool and sporting.
"Date se mujhe yaad aaya. Aaj ka ice-cream date kaisa tha Rehan ke saat?"
"Api we ran into each other how is that a date?!! I mean I just met him. You cant possibly call that a date."
"Ok date nahi, ittefaq se mulaqat? What ever it is but you mean if he asked you out on a real date you would say yes."
"Api! No I didnt say that."Seher whined like a little child as Sanam teased her.
"No i didnt say that!" Sanam imitated in the exact same voice.
"But manna parega yeh Rehan cute bahut hai. I hope you are not getting jealous."
"Main kyun jealous hoongi. Maine kya stamp lagaya uspe. I met him first but that doesn't mean you cant find him cute." Seher said rolling her eyes as she got up and sat on the bed.
"Oh ho someone is getting feisty, kya baat hai usually to tu koi ladke ko bhaav nahe dete. Rehan lagta hai kuch zyaada hi impression kar diya ek hi mulaqat main."
"Kyun nahi karega, after all he is the younger brother of Chote Nawab. Kuch charm usme bhi hain." Seher raised an eyebrow.
Sanam felt her jeart jump. Of course Seher had mentioned that when introducing Rehan. But why did that matter? Just becaue they were brothers did not mean they were the same. Her and Seher, despite being twins were so different why not those two.
"They are step brothers right?"
"They are. But Rehan told me in the car that they may be step brothers but their relationship is as strong as real siblings. He really respects his elder brother. He says that his brother never makes him feel like an outsider. It was nice to know the Chote Nawab has a different side to him that the media never captures. Maybe he is not as outrageous as the media makes him out to be."
"Maybe that or maybe Rehan is just partial to his brother." Seher gave Sanam a strange look as Sanam shrugged.
"What? I said what I felt. I mean you might not see certain habits or things I usually do as a fault while others might. Although we are pretty honest with each other."
"Well then I will say your being judgmental Api. Just because the media labels him as a Casanova and a serial dater, doesn't mean he is a bad person. I mean girls don't swoon over him for no reason. He is hot and successful. But I am sure he is different with his family. Plus what he does is his personal choice. The media exaggerates anyway."
Sanam thought for a minute. He did look hurt when she hurled her accusations at him but then she thought about what he was capable of doing.
"Well thats just my opinion and yes the media does exaggerate but there must be some truth to it. Plus so many girls we knew said he never looks back at the women he ditches."
"Api how do we know what he says to them. For all we know those girls can be lying and you know they can lie. Maybe its not ditching and the girls know what they are in for."
"Well if thats the case then fine. As long as he doesn't lead them on. Plus girls should not expect anything more than a night or two with him anyway. He is definitely not a man to seriously date or marry. So as long as decent girls stay away, he wont be seen as a villain I guess. But no matter how hot he is, it doesn't give him the right to mess a girl's life."
"So you admit he is hot?"
"Well if I say otherwise, would you agree? But just because he is hot doesn't mean he appeals to me.
"Api, can I ask you something. I have been meaning to ask you all day. Every time you hear his name you look like someone drained the color off your face. Why? I get that much that you don't like him. But why do I feel like its more than his media image and him being a Casanova with a damn care attitude. I mean even Rizwan dated many girls in the past and went out with almost every girl in college. Even you had briefly dated him for sometime. Yet your friends with him."
Rizwan was one of her closest friends, a sweetheart who unfortunately wore his heart on his sleeve too loosely. He dated so many girls and yet could not make up his mind. Sanam and him had gone out but it wasn't anything serious. They didn't even kiss so there was no awkwardness. He was the only person she dated and remained friends with. Her other two ex's was a complete douche bags so she stayed away from them. Now that Seher mentioned it, its funny that on Rizwan this doesnt bother her and makes her laugh. In fact, she jokingly gives him advice all the time, while on Aahil it makes her angry? Aahil? Why would she call him on first name basis. Chote Nawab!
"Rizwan is very clear on what he wants and plus most of his are harmless dates. I mean when we dated, he didn't even kiss me! By the time things progress he usually backs off. Atleast he doesn't go around showing off his women. Plus honestly Seher I could care less about Chote Nawab, the only reason I don't like discussing him is because he irks me for some odd reason. I mean he is like a celebrity. There are so many celebrities you dont like. Does that mean you have a personal grudge? Plus I met him today n it was perfectly normal, I---" Sanam bit her tongue.
She had to open her big mouth, Seher looked at her with widened eyes. Sanam would have laughed at her expression if this was not about her and Chote Nawab's meeting.
"Api you didnt tell me! You met him! When? How? Is he hot in real life?"
"This is exactly why I didn't tell you!"
"How could you hide this." The bickering went back and forth and it wasn't long before the sisters forgot the exact reason why they were bickering and threw pillows at one another for other reasons. Finally when the laughter, screaming and hurling pillows stopped, they caught their breath and plopped side by side on the bed.
"Your getting old Api" Seher said to Sanam who was trying to catch her breath. Sanam looked at Seher incredulously and laughed at her silly twin.
"So how did you meet him?" Sanam should have known she wont forget.
"Well you know he came to Abu's office in the morning for the meeting so I ran into him as he was leaving. Thats all."
"Are you sure Api..." Seher narrowed her eyes as if she knew exactly what Sanam was hiding and Sanam felt her cheeks get warm. She could never hide anything from her twin and neither could Seher, not even an unexpected and embarrassing encounter with the eternal bad boy of Bhopal.
"Well that stupid Azhar dropped his coffee and I almost slipped so he caught me."
"Who Azhar?" This time Sanam narrowed her eyes and Seher chuckled.
"No that Chote Nawab of yours."
"He's not mine. He is Rehan's brother though."
"Haha very funny. Yea he caught me and tried to use his charm on me and when didn't work he said some rude and disrespectful things about Abu. I couldn't stay quiet Seher. So I spoke back and eventually it got into an argument where he threatened me. But its fine. I don't care. I responded and he walked away. I am guessing my last words left more than the intended impact."
Sanam sighed as Seher gave her a curious look. "Intended impact? Do you mean in a good way or bad?"
Sanam shrugged. "I don't know nor do I care. Its not like I will run into him again and I rather not. Something about the man makes me uncomfortable."
"Not uncomfortable Api. He is so hot any girl would feel a little nervous around him. Though I usually find such men show offs, I must say Aahil Raza Ibrahim has an aura about him. I never personally met him but what I have heard from Rehan and the way he carried himself before the media, he seems quite interesting."
"Well why should we care Seher. He is the type of guy who just needs women to enjoy and keep him happy. He is rich and famous but thats its. I mean I don't want a man just because he is rich."
"Gosh Api you really do dislike him. I still find him kinda hot."
"And here I thought you were blushing thinking about Rehan."
"Api! I dont blush! But to be honest Rehan is really nice. He seems so down to earth and kind hearted. I mean how many guys are so respectful and chivalrous today. Many women find that a turn off but I realized I kinda enjoy being treated like a woman. Most of all I just met him yet it felt as if we connected very well."
"Ypu see what I mean. A man who is respectful and carried himself like a gentleman makes the right impression. I myself believe that chivilary is rare these days and definitely Rehan seemed like a very nice guy."
"He is. I mean I only met him once and you can never know someone in one meeting. But he is sort of different. I mean I argued with him a little but he was a thorough gentleman about it and handled the situation very maturely. There is a strange innocence and honestly about him."
"So that blush was for him."
"Api I am being serious!"
"Ok baba just kidding. Seher you should meet him again. He did seem like he likes you. He was looking at you the entire time. I am not saying anything for sure but hey you never know. You have never shied away from your feelings. Your very open and honest. I am not saying you have to date him so quickly but maybe being friends will help you know him better. But I must say I am not surprised that you and Rehan hit off well. I mean you can talk someone's head off and Rehan seemes like a good listener."
Seher gasped and hit her sister on the arm.
"I guess its because he is so different from all the other guys, especially Eijaz." Eijaz was Seher's ex boyfriend who was very talkative and funny. But he had a bad habit of checking out women openly on the street. Sanam was so glad Seher broke up with him. She could have swore he checked her out too. Even though her and Seher are twins, being checked out by her boyfriend was beyond gross.
"Ok no offense Eijaz was creepy. You went out with him for two months and I am glad you dumped him. You should have smacked him on the head a few times to set him straight too." Seher made a grossed out face and then laughed. Seher herself had been happy to get rid of Eijaz from her life.
"Your right Api, even though we are so different, it wont hurt to talk to him again. He has my number so lets see. I hope the deal works out for him and Abu accepts it."
"Already wanting Abu to be impressed by him huh!" She nudged Seher who shook her head and smiled. She moved to her side and rested her head on her arm.
"What about you Api. You haven't dated someone in so long. Don't tell me you want to go straight to the alter."
"Well marriage is not an immediate plan. As for dating someone, kaha se milega koi acha ladka. Unlike you I dont run into nice guys on the street." She winked at her twin. "But seriously I dont want to really date right now because it wont be fair to the guy I am with. I dont have the time nor energy to invest in this relationship."
"Spoken like a true financial advisor Api. But what if you fall in love. You can't control that now can you."
"You know my feelings on love. I am not for it nor against it. If love happens, tab ke tab dekha jayega. But honestly, there are no prince charming out there and thats the truth. But if a man who is kind hearted and understanding does come my way, I wont mind. But I am not waiting for love."
"Well neither am I Api. But if it comes I wont let go."
"Haya would be really happy to hear that atleast one of us is close to a die heart romantic. But jokes apart, true love doesnt come over and over. If you do find that someone special you shouldn't let go. As for me, I want someone who is intelligent and shares the same morals as me. Someone who will be by my side and care for me. A lifetime commitment. I am not against dating in the short term but having a nice life partner in the long term is important. More than love I want stability in my life. A successful career, a loving family and a secure future is all I want Seher. Allah ki rehmat se I have a loving family and am moving towards everything I want in life. If my husbands loves me and I love him great! But I am not looking for a fairytale romance right how. Thats the last roadblock I need. Love comes with a baggage, even marriage does but the emotional turmoil and heartbreak that comes with love is something I am not ready for."
"But look at Ammi and Abu. They are so in love. Don't you want someone to love you the same way Abu loves Ammi."
"Well who wouldn't! But their generation was different. Today love is hardly valued. Like I said, I am not against love. But love is not for everyone. If you cannot be honest and commited then you should not just go around claiming your in love. At this point I feel that love is not for me. But then love is unexpected. Things might change in the future. But for now I want to focus on my career." Sanam smiled at her sister. "Kya baat hai aaj bahut pyaar ke baate ho rahe hai. Looks like you might have literally ran into your someone special."
"Who knows maybe you might run into someone too?"
Oh yes she did literally bump into someone but he certainly was not that prince charming. In fact he is like the villain not the hero. A villain she would never want to meet again! Sanam shook out of her thoughts. "Lets see! Anyway your interview is coming up right?"
The two sisters talked the rest of the night and before falling asleep the last thought on Sanam's mind was what if she did fall in love? Well for that she would need to meet a nice charming man, not Chote Nawab of Bhopal. Here we go, she was thinking of him again! This man seriously needed to exit her mind, once and for all!
As Seher turned on her side, she thought about what Sanam said. Maybe Rehan and her... No she only met him once. But meeting him again would not be so bad. Since when was she so eager to meet a man. Looks like she had been talking to Haya too much lately! Seher opened her phone and looked at her contacts. Rehan Imran Qureshi. Before her mind could stop her she touched create message and typed in a simple phrase and closed her eyes before touching send. There you go she did it. She took the initiative. If he was interested he would talk to her if not, its fine, a simple message did not hint desperation anyway. She smiled thinking about him buying her ice-cream and dropping her home. Sanam was right, Haya would find this to be romantic. For her it was just a simple coincidence. Thats all! Right? Seher slowly closed her eyes as sleep engulfed her and the last name on her mind before she fell asleep was Rehan.
The next morning at Ibrahim Mansion...
Aahil winced as the sudden sunlight spilled into his bed. He covered his eyes with the back of his hand trying to block the disturbance in his already blurry vision. The second he tried lifting his head, he regretted it. Aahil groaned in pain as his head felt like a ton of bricks.
"Someone shut the stupid curtains! Latif! Latif! Mere room ke parde kisne khole! Shut them!"
He whined in a loud voice like a stubborn child refusing to go to school. But the person standing silently on the other side of the room wasn't Latif nor was he one to be cowered by Aahil and his tantrums.
"Agar aap ko pata hai ke hangover itna painful hai toh itna pete kyun hai!"
Aahil looked at the figure that silently crossed the room to his bed. "Rehan! What the hell! What kind of stupid prank is this! Close the bloody curtains! Damn it my head is killing me!"
"You said you wont drink again then what happened Aahil bhai? And nope the curtains will stay open till you answer me." Rehan sat on the bed and Aahil could tell he was not kidding. So he decided to chnage his strategy.
"Please Rehan apne bhai ko itna dard mein dekh sakhte ho?"
"Nope iss liye puch raha hoon. What is going on?" Damn it! This totally backfired, thought Aahil.
He rubbed his eyes and got up trying to ignore the throbbing pain in his head. "Chodo main hi bandh karta hoon." Rehan stopped him.
"Aahil bhai I am serious. Do you have any idea how much you drank yesterday. I mean Latif called me and thank god I was on my way home. I walked inside in time to catch you from falling flat on your face near the pool. You couldnt even stand straight!"
Aahil vaguely recalled two sturdy arms stopping him from falling and dragging him to his room. Rehan must have somehow helped him onto the bed and after that Aahil blanked out. He knew Rehan was right. He looked at the time. It was 12 noon! He must have slept over 15 hours! He really should not have drank so much that he couldnt even remember what happened. But he needed to drink, it eased his tension and released his frustration, although instead of clearing his head it muddled his thoughts even more.
"Aahil bhai something must have happened. Latif said you came straight home from your meeting. You definitely not one to drink yourself over a business deal. You had only one meetimg with Asad Ahmed Khan yesterday. Thats it! I know your schedule and it could not have been that bad. Did you receive any bad news? Or did someone say something that upset you bhai?"
Aahil grabbed his head as a sudden blurry memory flashed before him. That doe-eyed vixen came before him! He pushed away her thoughts before his anger could rise. He defintely drank too much. It hurt to even tax his brain and remember what happened only a day before.
"No, its nothing like that," he lied. Rehan handed him Latif's homemade cure for hangover which Aahil often needed to help him get out of bed. He had promised not to drink and kept up with it for a few months but had broken it last night. As Aahil drank from the cup, Rehan spoke up again.
"It has to be something bhai. I figured it could not have been that meeting. Its definitely something else. Mr. Asad Ahmed Khan is definitely not a man to give difficulty over a deal as simple as this one."
Suddenly Rehan was quiet but Aahil had definitely caught on. He looked at his borther who looked like he had spilled some secret.
"You met him before?"
"Well bhai actually, I met him yesterday."
"Yesterday? When? I met him quite early in the morning."
"Late afternoon actually. I met his daughter at the mall. I dropped her ice-cream, bought her a new one. We talked for a bit. She had a flat so I dropped her home." As Rehan went on animatedly about his supposed day out with Asad Ahmed Khan's daughter, Aahil looked at him in shock. Was he talking about the same people he had met the day before? Had they even met the same daughter? Or even father for that matter!
"He seemed like a great man who loves his daughter and a honest businessman. I really hope this deal goes through Aahil bhai," Rehan finished with a deep breath.
Aahil was still staring boggled at his brother's description of the Khans. "Are you sure we met the same person?" Rehan gave him a surprised look.
"Yes bhai, I am talking about Asad Ahmed Khan, the architect and owner of Dilshad Constructions. In fact, I even met Badi Ammi. She is really sweet."
Badi Ammi! What the hell! How was his brother making relations with them in one day. What were they now planning to steal his brother and adopt him! Aahil gave Rehan a horrified look.
"Are you ok Rehan?"
"I am perfectly fine Aahil bhai." Rehan said a bit too happily. "Seher is a really nice girl."
Seher? So her name was Seher. Funny cuz she's definitely nothing like dawn. She is a spitfire who can mess with anyone who crosses her path. He unfortunately had to be the one to face her wrath, for reasons she made very obvious, Aahil thought bitterly. But Rehan, what he described just didn't match. Maybe she choose who to show her nice side to and who to hurl accusations at.
"Aahil bhai, maybe its because I met him at his home and you met him at a business meeting?!!"
Aahil broke out of his thoughts and looked at Rehan who for some strange reason had an awfully persuasive tone. "He even said this deal might be finalized so definitely your meeting with him led to something good."
"I am sure my meeting is definitely not to be given credit for this," Aahil said under his breath.
"You seem to have made a good impression on him Rehan."
"Actually Aahil bhai Seher introduced me as her friend so I guess thats why it was easier to approach him?!!"
Aahil stared hard at his brother. He could have sworn a blush was creeping on his cheeks. Did his brother find the spitfire to be attractive? Is he crushing on her? Whatever why would he care! Atleast one of them had a better experience interacting with her. Aahil definitely did not want to be anywhere near that woman. He had enough women in his life to even care about Asad Ahmed khan's daughter. But still why was she nice to Rehan?!!
"I forgot to ask bhai. Did you happen to meet Sanam?"
"Sanam?"
"Yes. I knew there were two Khan sisters but I had no idea they were twins. Seher mentioned her sister but didnt tell me they were twins until we met. You could imagine my shock. Sanam Ahmed Khan is really nice too but a bit reserved. I mean I could be wrong but going but the twin notion I felt Seher is the more outgoing one. Sanam works in her father's office. You must have ran into her---"
Rehan didnt get to finish because his last few words made Aahil choke on his drink. "Aahil bhai! Are you ok! Seriously your scaring me. What the hell is going on with you?!!" Rehan got up and thumped his back as Aahil tried to recompose his breath and thoughts at the same time making him cough even more. Sanam! So that was her name. Now Sanam sounded more like her name! He could almost feel her name on his tongue without even saying it. What was he even thinking! Aahil quickly focused his thoughts elsewhere. He has met the other twin. No wonder Rehan's description didn't match, well it still doesnt. His younger bro had no idea what a spitfire this so called "reserved" girl was.
Aahil finally caught his breath only to look up at his brother who had an amused look on his face. "What!" He scowled suddenly feeling out on the spot by his own little brother.
"Ek hi mulaqat mein itna bada effect! Aahil bhai is Sanam the reason behind all this? You met her right? Latif said you came home furious after your meeting. I know Mr. Ahmed Khan did not cause this then who? His daughter!" Rehan looked like he made some worldly discovery.
Aahil shot him a warning look. "Quit running your imagination wild Rehan. For your curiosity, yes I met her. But she is nothing to ponder nor drink over."
"She isnt? Then why is your tone so laced with bitterness bhai. Was has she said or done that impacted you to such an extent that you drank yourself senseless." Aahil's eyes darkened.
"So I am right. Aahil bhai over these years i have never seen you get affected, forget to such an extent, over any girl. You usually dismiss them and never bother with them again. But about Sanam, is there something I dont know?"
"Rehan! Don't make a big deal out of nothing. I have two meetings to attend today and I have to make myself look presentable enought to stand before them."
"Aahil bhai dont worry about those. I got Faiz to handle them. We have all the time to finish our conversation. After all we never talk about a topic like this!" Rehan grinned at him as Aahil tried to threaten him with a look that would yield an "oui ma" reaction from Latif but wont make Rehan budge an inch. Futile attempt!
"Look Rehan, yes I admit I met her, yes we spoke but I rather not repeat what she said or rather implied about me. But lets just say she should pray that she doesnt cross my path again. It wont be good for her."
"Ouch Aahil bhai, bas kijiye. Your not sounding menacing at all. In fact, I think your more hurt than angry." Rehan suppressed a grin as Aahil rolled his eyes and sighed in frustration. Rehan had no idea how wrong he was! Aahil was not hurt! He was just furious at the audacity of this girl to mess with Aahil Raza Ibrahim!
"Rehan go ponder over your own girl. In fact, I have never seen you so excited after meeting a girl only once. I mean Seher doesnt sound like just a friend. I mean you have started to call her Badi Ammi as her own, you have impressed her father, your remember every detail about your little icecream date..., I can go on.
"Aahil bhai, your trying to change topic" But Rehan averted his eyes but still gave it away.
"Hmm looks like my younger brother has a crush on someone or maybe has found himself a girlfriend," Aahil teased.
"Come on Aahil bhai, its nothing like that. I only met her once. But I must say she is really different. So full of life and child like. In a world thats always in a rush to get somewhere, she actually stops to enjoy the little aspects of life. I mean something as simple as icecream makes her happy! As a child, that used to brighten my day too but as an adult, I seemed to have forgotten all of that."
Rehan looked at his brother with a sincere look. "She is a really nice girl bhai."
"Well looks like she inherited all the good genes. I can bet she has gone after her mother." Aahil muttered in a low voice.
"Kuch kaha bhai?"
"No nothing Rehan. Seems like you had a nice time having icecream with her." Aahil teased and Rehan smiled.
"After Abu's death I never really had the chance to just go out, have icecream and enjoy the fresh air. He used to take me every weekend." Rehan reminisced and Aahil ruffled his hair.
"Rehan if she makes you happy, then definitely go for it man. You might have just met her but you can meet her again and get to know her. Tell me you got her number!" Aahil saw the surprised look on his younger brother.
"Really bhai. You think so. Of course bhai I got her number! She is a really nice girl and trust me you would like her too."
"If she is nothing like her sister, then definitely it would be nice meeting her."
"Aahil bhai, come on I shared everything with you. You tell me. Whats with you and Sanam. After all she is Seher's twin. Its just so strange how we both met a twin each. Or is it a sign?"
"A sign?"
"Maybe you know you and her?"
"Thats bogus Rehan. Just a coincidence! For your kind information, I would not date her Rehan. She is not my type." Aahil shook his head.
"For all her sharp tongue and bravado I am sure she is one of those girls who swear not to date. You know I steer clear of anyone who might want any sort of commitment."
"So if it wasnt for that you would date her?"
"Rehan I did not say that."
"So you mean to say you will never commit to someone? I know your not too fond of marriage, in fact, you plan not to get married but what if your plans change?"
"They wont. I am happy with my freedom. Plus with my image, I don't think any father would want me to marry their daughter." Aahil smirked.
"But what about love bhai?" Aahil laughed at that. "Really Rehan I thought you knew your brother! Love and Aahil Raza Ibrahim dont mix together."
"But what if you do fall in love bhai? Love is unexpected, it can happen to anyone, at anytime! As they say, ishq pe zor nahi?!!"
"Ishq pe zor nahi? Ya right, its all hogwash. Its usually just lust fluffed up and called love by our society. I mean how many people are actually truly in love. I for one have never fallen in love. Have you?" He raised a brow and looked at his brother who shrugged.
"Not yet but I wont be stupid enought to let it go if it came my way. Would you?"
Aahil narrowed his eyes. "Would I? Would I? Rehan which girl would fall for the khalnayak. Every girl who believes in love wants a night in shining armor and I am defintely not that. Girls with me just want some cash and good time and I honestly dont care since I am not seeking more anything either."
"But bhai doesn't it bothers you? The fact that none of these girls bother knowing you for who you are. What happens after your done having fun in life? We all need someone by our side."
Aahil got up and walked to the window. His head still felt heavy but he manage to keep a steady stride. Aahil closed his eyes as words spoken by a certain female came back to him "You love to show off your women! But have you wondered if they even care about you. Do they even know the basics about your likes and dislikes. If anyone does?" Now even his brother felt the same way. Aahil sighed in frustration. As if Rehan sensed his pain, he got up and Aahil heard footsteps stop right next to him.
"Bhai, I didnt mean to hurt you, but I cant see you go through so much pain. What happened last night scared me! I rather you scream and throw a tantrum but not drink. Its not healthy and honestly bhai your not weak. You have gone through so much yet your strong. I may be younger than you but I still feel like I can point out what I believe is best for you! Don't you think its time you actually let yourself share your life, your fears, your dreams with someone else, someone who will be there for you all the time."
"Rehan, I could barely get out of bed two minutes ago and now you want me to get another headache. This is just going somewhere else. If your suggesting that I get married, then no I cant. I cant just bring a girl into my life and spoil her dreams. I cant offer her commitment and those I can offer something too want nothing more than money, forget sharing my life! Money is something one can never have too much of and the greed of those girls can never be satisfied nor am I so desperate for someone permanent in my life." Aahil turned and looked at his brother who was shaking his head.
"What if you do fall in love bhai," Rehan stressed.
"Not a chance Rehan. Plus its not enough for me to love someone. Mujhe jaise patar dil insaan se mohabbat kaun karega. Khuda ne bhi mere kismat mein mohabbat nahi lekhi. So you can just forget about this idea. I am rather happy the way I am. But if you wish to settle down, dont let me hold you back. Tu chota hai phir bhi mujhse zyaada responsibile hai. Any girl would be happy to join you n your journey of life Rehan. Now I am wondering, are you trying to get me hitched fast so your number can come? Is there someone you have in mind or rather in your heart?" Aahil changed his serious tone into a teasing one as Rehan rolled his eyes.
He ran his hand through his hair in frustration. "Bhai aap bhi na. Main kya samjha raha hoon aur aap. Your wrong bhai. You can never spoil a girl's life! You just need to see that your capable of love. Your depriving yourself of happiness due to your own stubbornness, trust me! I am serious!"
"Rehan miya, itna frustation kyun. Just chill bro. Yeh saab ishq mohabbat ki bateein thoda bekar lagta hai mujhe. Ab tum jao aur Latif ko bolo mere liye nashta ready rakhe. I am starving. Let me freshen up and I will see you down in a bit." Rehan shook his head.
As he was leaving his phone rang. "Ammi?"
"Rehan dont tell Ammi about last night. Khamaka pareshaan ho jayegi."
"Ji bhai." Aa Rehan left Aahil closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He knew Ammi wouldnt care what he did. But he never wanted Rehan to feel that his mother treated them any differently. No matter what that was his mother and he should not think wrong of her. It was an entirely different matter that his step mom never cared for him. But Aahil would forever be thankful to her for giving him a brother like Rehan. He quickly grabbed his towel and walked into the shower. He seriously needed to clear his thoughts and relax his body. Hopefully this was all the thinking he needed to do for the day!
As Rehan stepped out of his room and picked up the call, all he heard was his mother ranting about how the new deals needed to be profitable, how they needed to make sure they were the most illustrious family of Bhopal. Finally she got to the topic of asking him how he is. As usual all the "concern" she showed, all her words seemed reheared and not heartfelt. Maybe she did truly care but Rehan never felt it in her voice. His mother's greed and ambition toppled all other emotions in her life. She lived abroad and only came during big charity events in Bhopal. She never had time for her sons.
"Ha Ammi main theek hoon. Ha khana khane ja raha hoon. I have one meeting today and I can handle it. Yes Ammi." He answered all her questions monotonously.
"Ammi woh Aahil bhai---"
"Oh yes, tell Aahil to make sure the deal goes through. He must protect his Abu's name as we are attached to it too. He claims that he cares for you so he must care for our reputation as well. Tell him to attend all the meetings himself. I will contact him later in the week to see how work is going through. He cannot be doing things as he pleases all the time. He may be Chote Nawab but I am still the Begum of Bhopal."
"Ji Ammi" Rehan tried to hide the disgust in his voice. Once his mother cut the call he stared hard at his phone. He had the urge to smash it against the nearest wall and shatter it into peices. But even that would not make him feel any better. If only Abu was alive! Rehan knew this woman gave birth to him and he was obligated to love and care for her. But honestly, her greed and two faced nature made things so difficult. If only Aahil bhai knew but Rehan never had the heart to tell his brother that the Ammi he loved and worshipped didnt actually care for him. As Rehan looked back at his phone screen he saw that he had one unread message that simply said "hey wassup!" He looked at the name and instantly a small smile crept on his face. Two words, simple amd ordinary had made him smile. Or was it her. Rehan shook his head as he went to find Latif. Here he was giving his brother advice on love and he himself was acting like a man in love. Seriously crazy!
