Why Sanam's salwar's bottom(pant) is shorter in length..??

Is that a fashion or a new style to wear dress like that(i really dont knw, some one plz explain)..? In today's episode, it is shown clearly that it is shorter in length..? is that becoz of a particular style or CV's doesnt enough have enough budget to buy a proper dress for her heroine..?
