Eighteen
The two people that came to save Zoya were none other than Rehaan and Asma Malik. It was just after their plane had managed to land the earthquake hit. After all the chaos Zack and his parents reached the hospital Asad had told them to come to find it in a state that looked no less than something out of a bad nightmare.
Zack and his parents went crazy looking for Asad but there was no sign of him. Where Zack's parents helped with the medical tents Zack spent all his time all his efforts trying to locate Asad.
A few months after returning to Switzerland Zack was contacted by the police to be told that they had located Asad's car and found his driver. Zack took the next flight back out to India and met with Arif straight away.
Arif had told him that Asad was still alive and had been admitted into a hospital just outside of Delhi, Zack cried as he sighed in relief, thanking Allah for this miracle.
When Zack met with the doctor in charge he was shocked to learn that Asad had suffered a serious head injury which had caused him to lose his memory. The only thing that the doctor said that was worth holding on to was that Asad still had certain images and memories that were still present, but because they caused so much confusion he wasn't able to sustain them, it was almost as if he had selective amnesia.
Zack met Asad, but only he wasn't Asad he was Leo. He had remembered that name and this was his only identity. He knew he was Leo and that was it, the doctor did say that there was a possibility that his memory would come back but a greater chance that it would never return. The doctor advised him to make sure Asad was never pressured or compelled to do anything and to let him try and work things out on his own. With his memory loss came a lot of aggression; Leo would often lash out and not really understand why.
Asad had no memory of Zack, which pained him. He found it ironic that he couldn't remember him but could remember the name he had given him, one that he didn't like. Dilshad moved back to Delhi as soon as she found out. Asad had some memory of her but was always a little distance. Zack and Dilshad spent a long time with Asad trying to rebuild their relationships.
Today Leo stood in his high rising office now known as RDI in the heart of Mumbai, Dilshad had everything shifted from Delhi to Mumbai with the help of Zack and his family. In the time that had passed Asad was reintroduced to the world he lived in as Leo, an arrogant hard hitting young business man that had one aim in life and that was to rule over every venture he had a hand in.
Zack juggled his work, being with Asad and going back to Switzerland, as months passed his relationship with Asad strengthened as well as with Zoya.
Zoya who had come to love her family was unable to bring herself to say no when Asma and Rehaan approached her with Zack's proposal. Zoya had never told them anything about Asad; the only people they were aware of in her life were Ruby and Jai. Asad, the people of Ram Nagar were never spoken of. The pain she associated with Asad was unbearable, she felt suffocated and the only way she knew that she would move on with life was if she never mentioned him, he was a part of her that would live for as long as she breathed but he was also a part she never disclosed to anyone.
Zoya felt indebted to Zack and his family; although she knew that she would never be able to love Zack she still said yes to marrying him. Zoya may never have explicitly told Zack everything but he knew that Zoya had loved and lost. Their friendship ran so deep that they were prepared to marry one another for the sake of their parents.
'Angel, it's getting quite late maybe we should reschedule your meeting with Ronit for tomorrow morning?' Angel looked down at her watch 'actually you are right, let me just message him'
'Zack, I want to go and met Baji tomorrow, since she has moved her I haven't been able to see her or Leo'
'You keep talking about this Leo...I want to meet him too' Zoya said as she walked back towards them 'he is away on business at the moment...but worry not you can meet him when he comes to Switzerland next month...its Ammi and Dad's wedding anniversary and also his birthday, we can celebrate together'
'Sounds like fun!'
Zoya accompanied Asma and Rehaan to me Dilshad. As Zoya stepped inside his apartment she felt a weird sensation run down her body 'Angel, what happened come in beta' Asma said. Zoya walked further in. once Asma had introduced her to Dilshad, Zoya hugged her it is so good to finally have met you beta...I hear so much about you from Asma and Zack' Zoya sat down next to Asma she started to feel a little restless but couldn't put her finger on it. 'Beta are you ok?' Dilshad asked seeing her look on edge 'yes Aunty...um can I use the bathroom please' 'Sure it's the last door on your left'.
Zoya walked towards the bathroom, looking around as she did. As much as she admired the apartment for its grandeur she couldn't help feeling something conversant, the essence, the scent that lingered in the air felt familair.
It wasn't long before Zack came up to pick Zoya up 'you are going so soon, I never even got a chance to talk to you properly' Zoya took Dilshad's hand into hers 'I will come back and we can spend an whole day together...it's just that I have a meeting with one of my producers' 'I know, Asma told me, your love for music is as great as mine...my son, he has recently opened up his own music production house' 'wow, that s great...Zack you never told me' Zack started to scratch his head 'I guess I forgot...actually I wasn't sure if Leo was going to go ahead with it...he has a habit of changing his mind last minute'.
Zack sat reading over the new contract that Ronit had made up 'Ronit, you are changing production houses?' Zack questioned 'yes, we signed a deal with Musicology, it's a relatively new production house, the owner is...' 'Leo' Zack finished his sentence for him. Zoya looked at Zack wide eyed 'your Leo...Musicology is his?' 'Yes it is...Ronit all is in order...Angel you are good to sign...just remember that you will be required to travel a lot and the contract is a two year deal' 'I know, I don't mind the travelling...more than often I will have you tagging along so it's all good' she said with a wink.
Zoya signed the contract and handed it back to Ronit 'great, Angel, your first album will be launched in December and we want to release your first single by Christmas, we want it to reach number one' Zoya smiled at him 'it will...and about the album I want to name it' 'sure thing...let me know what and I will sort it out for you.
