CHAPTER 4
he looked up to sky from the place where he had first seen her. He is standing at the same place with his eyes lock at the spot where she was standing that night in bridal red dress. He touches his finger below his eyes to catch one tear that dare to slip from his eyes. his anger his pain, his angst is back in him now. For few days although the mere thought of zoya made him forget about all the bruises life had gave him but now life cheated him again and all he is left with is emptiness. What had he done to deserve this barren? He cursed again to sky from his soul for bringing an end happiness he wished to see in his life. He remained there still for hours, imagining her at two feet distance with the same intense eyes she had in her first meet. The burn the pain, the poison his emotions were injecting in him felt unbearable for asad and he let out a loud groan before he falls on floor on his knees.
"why?? Why damn it?" he roars to sky with all pain and angst before he starts crying hysterically.
Something in him broke that day.
Zoya stares at the screen blankly biting her lips to stop them from shivering. She brings her finger on the keypad to dial the number but feels lack of courage to dial it. she again gets her finger off the keypad. This things she repeats a couple of time, before humaira enters the room with out a knock and zoya makes a quick attempt to hide the phone but humaira sees it before she could hide.
Humaira chuckles looking at her scared face and sweats bead on zoya's face. Humaiara walks to the door and pipping out of it once she shuts the door close and come and stands near zoya.
"call him. no one will know now." She chuckles once more referring to asad . humaira then turns her back at zoya as if neglecting her presence while zoya stands there totally confused and surprised by humaira's action.
"uh..humaira?" zoya shakes her head left and right making humaira chuckles a little louder this time.
"I know you have feelings for that guy we met in mall. And i also know you don't love my brother. I always wished best for my brother zoya. And since you don't love him, he wont be happy ever with you. I am letting you go." These words fired like bullet for zoya, she turned her head to humaira as if any moment she will cry. She wished to thank her and hug her too but she could see how angry did humaira looked even when she said she is letting her go. She stares at the door for a while then back at humaira in the room. No matter how much she tries she couldn't get her feet in the door's direction. She feels tears pouring from her eyes , she felts herself in dilemma whether to listen to her heart or stay. Its not like she wished to, but she had to. Akram is zoya's cousin. After her father's death he was the only one who came forward to help her and protect everything that her father left for her. She found a really good friend in him but little did she knew that the affection she is showing him will be taken as some other meaning by akram. And one day she found out akram had planned an event where they were getting engaged. He never asked her about this , she had no clue about whats going in him? but to clear the confusion when she stepped inside his territory she was caged for life. He never allowed her to leave. All doors were closed for her. She was given only one choice by him for her freedom and that's just to love him. Do love work as we say? No. and since that time till now akram puts barrier in her way so as no other man would be able to see her and meet her, may this way zoya would end up falling for him seeing no alternative to her side. he waited for 3 years before few nights ago he declared his decision that they are getting married and he cant wait any longer. Obviously he was going to cross 30 its high time to marry in their society. So without her consent the event was organised and everything went with his plan except one change. Zoya managed to escape. She knew there was no life left for her to start as akram would hunt her down and probably she will be forced to face horrible consequences. So she thought to end up her life and that's when she met asad. Why did he save her in first place? She felt so angry on him. but being tamed by akram for years she forgot to show any emotions other then cry. The little moments she shared with him had marked her entire life with his presence. Even when they parted she felt like running back to him, he made her feel safe around him. her little courage died with her final Allah hafiz to asad. That night she was again tracked by akram and what happened later, could only be guessed by the fear she still had in her eyes and not to forget those bruises on her hand and waist the thick broad line of his leather that tore her skin like scrap. Humaira didn't know about this personality of akram. And neither did zoya felt like discussing this with her. She was happy with the smile that appears on humaira's face whenever she speaks about her brother with proud. And zoya didn't wish to change it.
"please go zoya. Before I again change up my mind and speak about asad with him. I cant lie my brother longer zoya. You leave before he stops you." humaira left saying this and zoya remains there blankly in centre of hall.
"if I leave from here where will I go?" she thought clutching her duppata in her hand.
"how can I got to him? I don't even know he likes me or not!" she let the fear fall from her eyes.
"if I leave will he accept me? And what will akram do? Once he comes to know about my runaway?" her eyes widen in fear and she takes a step back away from the door.
"how can I put asad's life in danger? This is so wrong. What should I do. Allah!" she shuts her eyes letting the remaining water slips down on her cheeks. She again looks at the door with a hope to see a sunrise but her body refuses to her to even move. Especially not with the ring still on her finger!!
