Tanveer never made sure to raise up Rehan with her brand of upbringing. Tanveer made sure to groom and raise Ahil in a way that she believed would make his heart a batten desert. Aahil was abused and then made to believe he killed his own father, and his mother took the blame and punishment. This after he's also seen his father abuse his mother when she tried to protect him. - It was at this point that my perspective on ARI changed. How could you do that... to a child? Make him believe he killed someone, his own father? And he still doesn't know any better. How do you live with yourself every day? Well, clearly, we see how he has been living.

And in top of that, on top of all the guilt and psychological issues, Tanveer used his weakness and worship of her to mould him in ways she never did with Rehan. She wanted Rehan to love her and to be able to love. Whereas with Aahil what she made sure was that Aahil would be her psychologically damaged puppet whom she wants not to be capable of love. - Agreed. We know Tanveer is a mastermind. Just seeing how Aahil hangs onto her every word... is a giveaway of what she has done to him.

Was R made aware of her mommy-status only recently? I did not know that.

Plus heaping guilt on a child and teaching him to undercut people on business deals, telling him to continue with his nightlife and bachelor activities are definitely not sterling values.
However, we, as audience, like ARI because his own heart is good. So regardless of whatever Tunveer taught him, we expect that he never truly hurt anyone (girlfriends, businessmen, etc.). This point, can, of course, be argued, but he is gray so that is part of the grayness.

But his bad-boy behavior is not without raising his conscience, since he is supposed to be good at heart.
He believes in marriage, the vows, the commitment. Nobody taught this to him, least of all Tunveer.
And here the dichotomy reveals itself.
If he is indeed good at heart, then regardless of his avowed 'false' marriage with S, he would still, in public, carry out his 'husband' avatar.
That does not include insulting and humiliating her with sarcastic love words in company.
It does include feeling jealous and dancing closely with her to stake his 'claim' on her. Men tend to get territorial and do that. (Not manhandling, though).

R, on the other hand has always been white, observing all proprieties, and that very characteristic ought to preclude him from touching the boss's wife or even publicly longing for her, no matter how friendly they were before or how friendly she is now. Private anguish is another matter.

On a lighter note:
ARI burned her diner.
S burnt his car.

ARI challenged her and broke liquor bottles.
She broke the last bottle.

ARI humiliated her in media (as the girl he kissed) falsely.
S humiliated him in front of family and Aasma, etc., by loudly proclaiming his cheating at the sweetmeat weighing. It was the truth.

ARI wouldn't share his blanket.
S wouldn't share her stole.

S said, "Please don't leave me." (in sleep)
ARI said, "Please don't leave me." (in sleep)

ARI said, "You married me for money."
S said, "You married me for money, too."

Each time he has taken his comeuppance silently, no matter his ego which reared its ugly head later, because he knew she was in the right.

I am now waiting for this:
ARI comes out of the shower topless, and she is lust-struck.
S...

😆

Myhrah, you don't stand alone, I am also confused. His behaviour confuses me. I hate him and love him at the same time.
His mind is so occupied with all the things going around him. I under stand what you are trying to say. A confused person is very well understood by another confused person😆
I mean he loves her and he knows that. He also knows Rehan also loves her. He also "knows" she also loves Rehan.
These three things are messing up his mind. Still in all this fiasco, he never lashed out and thought wrong about Rehan. He cares for him. He feels guilty he has married his bro's love whom he was gonna propose.
But he can't deny the fact he himself loves her so much. Somewhere in his mind he wants her to love him back. But she doesn't, coz she "hates" him. And this irks him. He thinks she doesn't love me, she loves Rehan. WHY? This "why" is what he is not getting an answer for. Why him? Why not me? Now when this "why" comes he starts feeling complex, maybe? That she doesn't deserve him.

And then to hide this he lashes out at her so that she keeps doing what she does. Hate him. And then when he sees Rehan doing the consoling he even gets more hurt and angry. Hurt because Rehan is the one who consoles her not HIM. Angry because. same reason again. This reason is actually making him feEl BOTH HURT AND ANGRY at the same time. And when this thing crosses the limit, he gets jealous.

Okay, I don't know what I have written, still so confused about him. Don't know if I made any sense Like him I am also mesed up😆

Prags, you seem to be more confused more than Ahil.😆
And now you have managed to confuse me too.
I guess, we should make these 3 sit in a room, give a list of quesitons to each one, and ask them to get those questions cleared in black and white. 😆

😆 He confuses the hell outta me! Why make so complex characters, when it leaves viewers MORE confused than the confused character really is! 😆

Lol Actually. Thats a good idea. Imagine this:

Aahil clarifying with Sanam and Rehan; ":Okay guys. DO YOU GUYS LOVE EACH OTHER OR NOT?!!" 😆
Rehan and Sanam in unison : "YES" "NO" 😆
And Aahil will be left even more confused🤣

I get you, Pragzzyyy baby! Love from one confused soul to another... trying to psycho-analyse the King of Confusion, Aahil 😆

Yeah Gita - panel discussion! Love it :)

I have been silently stalking this thread and really liked reading all the sensible responses. :)
Don't really have anything more to add except just agree with the majority of you who said that Aahil should be redeemed for his jack-assery. However, would like to say that the creatives of this show can carry out this track in a nuanced manner if they want (less possibility of that though). 😆

Their story is just sooo delicious to watch and because it is just so darn messy and the character of Aahil being so complex (and confused 😆). MrDarcyfan was right in drawing parallels with Othello for Aahil's character. Aahil reminded me of Othello as well with the jealous destruction stemming from all his misunderstandings.

On that note, any guy would feel territorial and jealous if he had seen his wife walking hand in hand with another man. And in this case, Aahil knows that man loves his wife and presumes that his wife loves that man back. So I guess the jealousy is understandable.

I agree with Prags_Sociopath's take about Aahil taunting Sanam because of this reason and him developing a complex because Sanam hasn't returned his love and presumably loves Rehaan. And then he lashes out at her again and forcefully makes her aware of his proximity because he sees Rehaan consoling her. In a way, he stakes his claim on her and tells her that ONLY he has the right to be so close to her, and in the process treats her like a rag-doll. Woah, Aahil man! Take a breather! This guy is is in a world of hurt and he won't let her get away without hurting as well!

Now, if they show a proper redemption for Aahil, this track can be the best track of QH so far! No silent loathing, no gifting sarees, or apologising over coffee! A PROPER redemption. Now, don't expect Gul Khan to show Darcy level redemption, that's way beyond her calibre. However, I do want to see a proper redemption.

And I so want Sanam to give back and stay in her character. Please no abla naari crap and her putting up silently with his jack-assery. Don't want her to forgive him easily too haha :)

I know right?! The discussion and arguments here are so WORTH reading. Awesome points and such a healthy discussion. I can't help but read all of them. :D

Complexity of such a confused character makes it so interesting and exciting.

that Othello post, I have to read. I forgot. I have bookmarked it, but it juts got outta mind..

SO AGREE with all that you said in last two paras. I so want a proper redemption for him. It would give such a sadistic pleasure to watch him yearn for her, beg of her, cry for her and Sanam not moving an inch by all this. I so want Sanam to REJECT him first, when/if he confesses to him and tell him all the things he has done to her. And then I want him to go back running to her in the end 😆
